A new thread for all us friendly Dec ladies

We sit and we type,
And we stare at our screens;
We all have to wonder
What this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam,
Through the rooms in a maze;
Looking for something or someone,
As we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other;
We type all our woes;
Small groups we do form,
And gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody
To type out our name;
We want recognition,
But it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs,
And sometimes flirt;
In PMs (IMs) we chat deeply,
And reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships -
Yet why, we don't know;
But some of these friendships
Will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen,
We can be so bold?
Telling our secrets
That have never been told.
Why is it we share
The thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see,
As though we were blind?
The answer is simple;
It's as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems
And need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people,
But tell someone we must;
So we turn to the computer,
And to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy,
The truth still remains:
There are Friends Without Faces,
With odd little names.

No, haven't gone home yet, still feeling chucky, just not sure what to eat for lunch. Will probably leave an hour earlier this afternoon.

ninah · 12/10/2005 12:41

scan will be fine sh. We are well on the way now. take dd to babyshow one instead, prob much nicer than the hosp one anyway, better atmosphere and you can have lunch together afterwards.

conqueen · 12/10/2005 13:21

i had my follow-up appt at the ANC today and they said that all is well and my infection has finally cleared up!!(only after like erm nine sets of antibiotics!!) the baby is head down aswell which is great and its already starting to engage!! kinda painful!! but im soooooo pleased that all that worry has resolved itself!!
whats expectnet?? sounds interesting!
BTW my pie was lovely and dp asked for seconds!! he usually leaves leftovers but the plate was empty!! i actually expected him to lick the plate at one point!!

ei23monster · 12/10/2005 13:28

ei23monster · 12/10/2005 13:31

OMG!! can you believe that wev only been on this thread for nine days and weve already racked up 400-odd messages!! jeez we can chat for england!!

sweetheart · 12/10/2005 14:07

conqueen - welcome to the thread - there's a rush of newbies at the moment coz everyone is hearing about how nice we all are

Thanks for all the good luck messages for my scan. I know I'm being stupid and they are just checking if my placenta has moved, but I've got so attached to this bump now and I couldn't bear to have another bump taken away from me.

I guess the experience of being in "that room" is gonna stick with me forever. Still, I'm not planning on having any more children so hopefully tomorrow will be the last time I ever have to set foot in a scan room

great news about your friend sh.

expatinscotland · 12/10/2005 17:02

NO WONDER I've felt so incredibly fatigued! I've got severe anaemia. I had to go get a nasty injection this morning. OUCH! Here's hoping it helps.

yellowbear · 12/10/2005 17:10

Hi Sweetheart,

just having a quick lurk! I live in yotkshire.

yellowbear · 12/10/2005 17:10

Yorkshire even!!

ninah · 12/10/2005 17:11

yb you anywhere near Whitby? have friends up there, seems nice ...

dramaqueen72 · 12/10/2005 17:24

hey ladies
I have missed you today! dh was home and I have been to get my hair highlighted and cut -fabulous, peace and quiet with magazines and tea ad lib...... then some shopping with dh. who bought me a new phone -not really into phones myself but he is and so hence had to have amazing one. apparently. did you know it has a laser etched keypad.......??er,...no neither did I!!- then made him help me with grocery shopping as he never does usually. my feet hurt form being so busy all day but my hiar looks great......
expat, ugh, sorry youve been feeling so tired and had an injection . usually by now I am also on the 'omg' how low iron level but this pg -touch wood- so far have managed to avoid it. more bloods next week tho so we shall see........

who asked about baby show scans? anyhow mine is NEXT friday, and yep I'm excited. like a big kid.
we prebooked but you pay on the day, and i believe they intended to have plenty available on each day, (tho dont know if that will work out)

s/h castor oil and curry etc are often seen as helping labour off the ground because they cause your bowels to contract so radically and the bowel is next to uterus and can set that off too. its abit hit and miss tho eh?
infact ALL those you listed work by contracting something 'near' baby in the chance it will set off uterus. and often it can indeed do. nipples and tweaking them (LOL) is because it actually causes the uterus to contract -as in after birth when you are feeding baby so uterus can start to shrink- and tweaking nipples PRE baby is supposedly to fool uterus into early contractions. (did that make sense????) however my nipples NOW, never mind at 37wks or whatever, are incrediably tender so cant even entertain that one!!!!!
I have a friend who took castor oil!!! she was stuck literally to the loo for hours and in agony. even during birth -because yes it helped or it was coincidence, whatever- she had ....er.runny bowels and the most painful bottom ever. so nope, wouldnt try that one EITHER! infact a long walk, maybe some sex and raspberry tea are about all i will do.

very very good luck tomorrow s/h with scan. its going to be fine, but totally get how nerve racking those scan rooms and the wait beforehand are. i am a wreck every single time. and then i cry.

ebbie22 · 12/10/2005 19:31
