Due in Dec 05 - thread 10. The one where we all become friends!

A new thread for all us friendly Dec ladies

We sit and we type,
And we stare at our screens;
We all have to wonder
What this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam,
Through the rooms in a maze;
Looking for something or someone,
As we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other;
We type all our woes;
Small groups we do form,
And gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody
To type out our name;
We want recognition,
But it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs,
And sometimes flirt;
In PMs (IMs) we chat deeply,
And reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships -
Yet why, we don't know;
But some of these friendships
Will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen,
We can be so bold?
Telling our secrets
That have never been told.
Why is it we share
The thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see,
As though we were blind?
The answer is simple;
It's as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems
And need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people,
But tell someone we must;
So we turn to the computer,
And to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy,
The truth still remains:
There are Friends Without Faces,
With odd little names.

oi less of the gore, madam!

george32 · 10/10/2005 16:58

I was laughing at my boss today about me going on Friday so he tried to bring me down by mentioning stitches.
Really got my own back though by explaining that I have some cream to massage into that area to help with that He went bright red & has vowed not to try to trump my leaving with any more nasty stories - I can beat him every time!!

dramaqueen72 · 10/10/2005 17:33

george, buy a femme pad and take ti to work.......you know those cooling pad things you put in the freezer? ( i had one last tiem btw and its was HEAVEN!!LOL)that should stop all blokes making jokes in their tracks!
s/h, really really glad I'm at the end of dec! cause you scare the heck outa me with yoru 7 wk things....
i had stitches first baby, but for none of the others. so dont worry so much please...but some of georges cream. and you dont want a cs surely? ow!!! I'm far too much of a wuss to let anyone cut my tummy! actually I'm just a wuss full stop. hence prob why i feel my bh and everyone else barely notices them!

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 18:38

DQ - no, I'd rather not a c-section but at least that way I know they'll be no stiches!!

Is that true - you only had stitches with No 1 - god I hope thats true in my case too!!!! I want to be in and out of hospital in a few hours, not staying in because of blood loss!!!!

sorry s/h wasnt being contraversal with that c/s statement. I just freak at operations of any kind and they will have to tie me down if i need one!! yes stitches first time with kal (ds) nothing with georgia (dd1) and 'just a graze' with dd2. have got to say the 'just a graze' hurt like fc and i might as well of had stitches!! am asuming everything has stretched to death down there now and baby no.4 will just slid out....... but yes, true fact that everything HAS stretched (god this is SUCH a charming conversation!!) and if you add to that an oil or cream in the weeks before its got to be positive. of course each birth is so very different (my mil has just been telling me how birth number 3 was so different from her other 4..!!!gee thanks.......)(yes she has five, and dh was the 'difficult one'-but i knew that!!) so of course no certainties but hope it reassures you some! take it it was bad stitching after dd?
youre scan is soon isnt it? and someone elses....and MINE next week! woohoo!

george, fix computer!!! we cant have you MIA can we??!!! tell dh its essential. dq says so!

hereshoping · 10/10/2005 20:12

hi there, thought i'd check in - am still lurking
Saw fetal medicine specialist at 22 weeks due to abnormal bowel appearance who did very detailed scan and was very reassuring - bearing in mind no one can ever guarantee you a normal baby
Finally am starting to relax and actually look forward to baby - getting pretty big and baby feels very active
Have got to start having growth scans - first one tomorrow as bowel appearance can be associated with poor growth in 3rd trimester
Cant believe we are all on the run in now! Theres a June thread!
Also looks like our 3rd ds as told at first scan might be actually be a 2nd dd instead........
glad to see everyone else is doing well xxx

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 20:48

DQ - sorry hun, I wasn't taking offence to the c-section comment. TBH, if they tell me on Thur I do need a c-section I'll freak out about that as much - or probably more than I am about having stiches.

I've never been in hospital before (apart from to have babies) and I don't even get sick very often so the thought of having a operation would scare the s**t out of me

Yes, I had a bad time with stiches last time - infact they were worse than the birth. I had such a bad tear that they midwife and senior midwife both refused to do them. I had to wait for a surgeon to become available which took over 2 hours. By this time I'd lost so much blood they didn't wait for the anesthetic to take effect before they started stiching. I felt every one being done - well, that is until I passed out. I was unconcious for over an hour! I had to be kept in hospital afterwaards because of the blood loss - I ended up passing out 3 times before they sent me home (once in the loo with my nice paper pants and industrial sized sanitry towel round my ankles)

ow s/h, sounds bad. I'm sorry. pretty sure that wont happen twice tho. my sister had thrid degree tear, and recalls midwives at the bottom of her bed looking at it and saying 'well where does that bit go.....?' 'is it there or there?' MOST concerning for her!! she only had a 6lb something baby too! think you should your fears out lod at next scan/dr appointment and get THEIR proper medical reassurance. rather than just DQ wittering on and not helping much

hereshoping! nice to hear from you. glad all is seeming well now with bump, and that scans are good to date. hope youre growth scans keep showing gorgeous baby with no problems whatsoever. keep posting its nice to have you here!

Nemo666 · 11/10/2005 08:01

morning all
how are we today..heres lovely to hear from you hun..good luck with your scan today hope everything is fab.

Re tearing..apparently it is true that once you stretched with first it is less likely you would need stitches with and subsequent babies. Luckily I grazed with Adam..although they did consider stitches I begged them not to..lol
Will be back on to catch up more later...take care

dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 09:42

dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 09:43

TP tuesday ladies, lets all measure this week.

talking of which, is it just me? i'm outgrowing my maternity clothes....... some of the tops are far far too tight over my bump. what the ehck do you wear when maternity cltoehs dont fit!???

sweetheart · 11/10/2005 09:47

morning all - sorry about the stitches conversation - I guess thats not what you first timers want to be heraing is it!

Here's - it's great to hear you and your bump are doing well. Thanks for popping in, lovely to hear from you!

DQ - Do I really have to measure today - not sure I can face more sheets! I know what you mean about outgrowing your maternity stuff - Mine is all getting very, very tight indeed I've resorted to things with elasticated waists and feel that before long I'll be living in my jogging bottoms.

Off to see dd in her class assembly later today I can't wait!!!! I should be wearing a badge today saying "Proud Mum"

Just been and measured 10.5 bloody squares!! I can't bloody well believe it I'm gonna be the size of a house at this rate!!!!!

I dread to think what that is in inches

OP posts:
Nemo666 · 11/10/2005 11:42

SH I am 11 sheets..have been for 2 wks jus tbeen too embarresed to say when others are like 8..pmsl

dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 11:49

tell me about it guys!
I'm 10.5sheets. and youre due before me s/h!!!
no wonder all maternity clothes arent big enough round the bump!
if its any consolation tho, at conceptionstore.com due in dec thread 'tp tuesday' has always been sheets ahead of us.
this makes me feels slightly better

dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 11:49

and lets not do inches okay!!!

Nemo666 · 11/10/2005 11:51

lol I feel so much better for sharing..its like when you started and I was on 9 sheets and everyone else was saying 6/7..pmsl

dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 12:03

Now nemo I have never been 6 sheets in my life!! and will never be in the future either if these measurements of mine keep growing!

george, if youre eight again I am going to INSIST youre doing it wrong.

sweetheart · 11/10/2005 12:05

ohhh that makes me feel better

I think I'll be hiding my tape measure at home - I dont want to know !!!!!!!

OP posts:
Nemo666 · 11/10/2005 12:14

im not going near tape measure..am just glad that my maternity jeans have that lycra stomach panel on..lol

completely off topic..does anyone knwo how long homemade trifle keeps????????

Ninahssecretstork · 11/10/2005 12:23

Am so pleased you liked your pressie. Someone at work told me it was crap and so I've been really worried!!!

Enjoy the chocs!!!!

george32 · 11/10/2005 12:26

Woo Hoo, the computer is working again! Was starting to worry about how I would spend my maternity leave with no computer!!

I have measured and DQ, you're not going to be happy..............yes, it's 8 sheets again!
Right, I have checked & I am measuring around from my belly button and it does go all the way round me. I think I must just have massive toilet roll. (Promise, it's not kitchen roll!)
Haven't eaten much yet today so maybe I should do it later as I do tend to swell up as the day goes on.

I can't wait until next week when I can wear joggers & PJs all the time!

george32 · 11/10/2005 12:28

LOL Nemo, homemade trifle...........in our house it lasts for about 10 minutes!!

dramaqueen72 · 11/10/2005 12:31

george, measure the widest bit of you, even if thats lower down than tummy button. it has to go all the way round and meet up
and eat alot before the get dec meet up meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nemo, its the cream thats the problem........... over night would be the most i reckon. so you have to eat it now
trying to get excited about making some lunch, but frankly all food and i seem to have fallen out of love for each other. i am picking rather than eating meals.

Nemo666 · 11/10/2005 12:38

mmm it was made on sunday so do I have to bin it i just fancy a bowl after our crumpets..thats all we are getting for lunch as I cant be bothered...fell exhausted today
