A new thread for all us friendly Dec ladies

We sit and we type,
And we stare at our screens;
We all have to wonder
What this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam,
Through the rooms in a maze;
Looking for something or someone,
As we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other;
We type all our woes;
Small groups we do form,
And gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody
To type out our name;
We want recognition,
But it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs,
And sometimes flirt;
In PMs (IMs) we chat deeply,
And reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships -
Yet why, we don't know;
But some of these friendships
Will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen,
We can be so bold?
Telling our secrets
That have never been told.
Why is it we share
The thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see,
As though we were blind?
The answer is simple;
It's as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems
And need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people,
But tell someone we must;
So we turn to the computer,
And to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy,
The truth still remains:
There are Friends Without Faces,
With odd little names.

morning all - ninah, sorry your feeling tense about tonight. Hopefully it will be OK - I'll be thinking of you hun!

Just having a quiet day here today, lots of washing to do and sort so that will take up most of my day. Gotta go food shopping too so I might buy the ingredients for your brownies DQ

Nothing to report apart from that really.

Hope everyone is doing OK, it's Sunday ladies so tomorrow I want lots of posts about us all with our feet up today eh!

It's still going on..........argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never again, ever, ever, ever, ever (well until his brothers birthday in November)

Off to hide somewhere quiet, maybe the end of the garden, or in a cupboard, or in my car??????

Will catch up properly later once the chaos has gone away.

george32 · 09/10/2005 14:01

They have gone - woo hoo!!!
Peace & quiet back to the house at last.
At 14 they are just too big & noisy so this year is definitely the last year. I'm amazed the ceiling is still up the noise they have made. But they have gone now

What great timing from your secret stork Ninah. I think you probably needed some cheering up after this week. I hope you didn't get a surprise visitor last night and everything goes calmly tonight.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday.

george32 · 09/10/2005 14:02

Forgot to add, anyone know anything about TENS machines? Are they worth buying, should I rent one, should I forget the whole idea?

dramaqueen72 · 09/10/2005 14:32

george, mmmmmmmm, 14yr olds, LOUD, smelly, everywhere at once.....eat lots, drink lots, make mess, -you deserve a medal!!!
personally found tens machine absolutely useless with my first. didnt do what it was supposed to do for me at all. however some people swear by them. but you cant get them wet at all...adn the sticky plaster hurt when it got pulled off -LOL!! gues its another 'up to you' thing. some people love some hate them.........bit like marmite.
s/h...um no. no feet up here...starting fireplace today (that i've been going on about for ages and not started..) so have been in garage stripping paint! (by hand, no fumes dont worry) but happy bunny anyhow.
nemo, happy b-day to adam for the morning. hope you feel okay later on. take it easy
ninah, hope last night was quiet??? and if hes about tonight your talk goes well.

george32 · 10/10/2005 10:45

Quiet today on here.
Hope everyone is OK and just having a busy Monday morning.
Happy Birthday to Adam Nemo, hope he has a lovely day.

Last week at work for me!!

expatinscotland · 10/10/2005 10:56

Happy Monday, folks! Remember, every Monday brings us closer to our due dates .

scully · 10/10/2005 11:03

quiet on here this morning.......
had a sort of busy weekend. took Friday afternoon off work, and dh, dd and I went to Sainsbury's, not very exciting outing but at least I didn't have to struggle with the trolley on my own. Friday night dh's friend stayed over but they crashed about 11pm so weren't too drunk and disorderly.....Sat am was swimming with dd and then Sat pm went to an NCT sale - got some great bargains for £30, so well worth the effort, although it was like Primark on a bad day.....
Sat night had dinner at a friend's house and Sunday pm dd and I headed up to London to meet friends in Wandsworth Common. Gorgeous afternoon and dd has mastered the pedals on her 'big' bike so she road around like a mad thing, pretending it was a motorbike (dh has one which she likes ), and we played football and fed the ducks. Have to try and spend some more dd focussed time with her in the next 9wks, feel very guilty I have managed to for most of the pregnancy........
Only got home at 8pm last night, so quite tired today, although I can't complain too much, I'm sleeping fine and dd slept in until around 8am on Sat and Sun, so whatever I'm doing is exhausing her as well
Have a lovely holiday and b'day Bonkerz. Good to hear you're feeling better sh. Can't remember what anyone said, still feel like I should be in bed [smile)

scully · 10/10/2005 11:04

that should read 'haven't managed to'.....
happy b'day to adam too, nemo!

Nemo666 · 10/10/2005 11:05

hi all
quick jump on because adam is playing with his toys.
hope everyone is ok.
We are all full of cold so dont know if we will be going out to see blackpool illuminations..will see how the day goes.
Take care

dramaqueen72 · 10/10/2005 11:16

wished adam a happy b-day on his photo thread nemo, how lovely he looks bless. bit wriggly......

last week george? wow! are you all excited about becoming a domestic goddess with slightly better sleeping hours???
scully, sounds like a busy full weekend there! sit down please!!!

dramaqueen72 · 10/10/2005 11:17

and expat PLEASE stop saying 'close' and 'due date' in the same sentence. youre freaking me out!!!

expatinscotland · 10/10/2005 11:18

We're having our flu vaccinations on Thursday evening. Hope that gives us enough time. Nurse friends of mine say flu hasn't made it up here yet. DD will have to have a booster 4 weeks after first jab.

My mum sent over some gowns for the baby. I washed them and as I was putting them away remembered how tiny they are when first born. Awww.

Have mostly everything washed now - soft toys, matts, blankets, clothes, etc.

Now just need to start thinking about re-assembling the swing, bouncy chair, etc., ordering a new cot mattress and getting some cot sheets.

Nemo666 · 10/10/2005 11:18

thanks DQ

ninah meant to say before hope the talk went well..let us know when you can hun.

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 11:38

george - I'm so that your on your last week at work! Mind you - I've just noticed that as of tomorrow it will be 1 month until my last day - YIPPEE!!!!! one month !!!!!!!!! lets out huge sigh of relief

Scully - sounds like you had a very busy weekend, lots of bits and pieces to attend to!

Nemo - happy b'day to Adam, hope you have a very special day together.

The chat with ninah partner didn't go well - she posted earlier. Feel so awful for her- - just wish I could give her a massive hug

Dh and dd are off to the airport later to pick up MIL. So I plan to buy a trashy gossip mag and put my feet up when I get home. They probably won't be back until around 7.30 so that gives me 2 1/2 whole hours of ME TIME!!! BLISS

Looking forward to my scan on Thurseday too. I'm really hoping they confirm the sex of the baby so I can finally sort out all my last bits and bobs!

george32 · 10/10/2005 11:40

Nemo, not sure if you have seen this from Ninah but it didn't happen with her P

scully · 10/10/2005 11:52

Enjoy your time on your own sh, I know what you mean, I read magazines at the hairdresser or on the train, that's it
Yes, didn't mean to have quite such a busy w/e, just sort of ended up that way. At least dh is off this week still, so will be keeping him busy with diy and housework.....He made a banana cake yesterday whilst I was in London, and managed to clean the bathroom so at least I didn't have anything to moan about when I got home last night Must remember to sit down more this weekend though.....
Hope you're doing ok Ninah........
& finishing work this week, I am jealous - I finish 6wks Friday, but I don't work full weeks for 5 of these weeks, so I should be able to cope

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 12:14

I know we mentioned this a couple of weeks ago but it takes too long to go through all the posts so......

can you ladies check out the meet up thread here and make any changes. Then I'll provisionally book the table later this week.

CHEERS

scully · 10/10/2005 13:44

thx sh, looking forward to it

dramaqueen72 · 10/10/2005 14:43

gosh that meet up is nearly here! it was AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGES away when we were first muttering about it!
lots of braxton hicks today. have now stopped all diy and housework to see if they go away. they are quite hard and strong and often. scary stuff.........know they arent real thing as not regular but still something else that makes me realise its not long.

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 16:01

yes, it did seem like an age away didn't it DQ - and now it's only 6 weeks away!!!!!

I'm having a very boring day today, although it's still a shock to the system that my mat leave starts in 1 month

I've been and brought my gossip magazine, although - wouldn't you believe it - they all seem to come out on a Tuesday so there wasn't much to choose from! Oh well, I'll have to sit and chat on MN instead!

OP posts:
scully · 10/10/2005 16:20

What amazes me is this baby is due in 10wks time
Still have in my head it's a while away yet, but the weeks are flying by.......

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 16:26

yes I was thinking that a couple of weeks ago - now it's only 7 weeks 6 days away

OP posts:
george32 · 10/10/2005 16:37

Is that all SH???
Oh no, time for another panic from me!!

Sorry you are having a bit of pain with BH DQ. I don't think I've had any, not really sure what I would be looking for though!

Off home soon for me. Managed to break my computer last night so might be away for a while unless I can fix it later.

sweetheart · 10/10/2005 16:41

YES, thats it!!! Can you believe it!!! I'm actually into the 7+something weeks!!!!!

And I'm totally freeking out about the prospect of tearing/episiotomy\stiches!!! I'm fine about the birth, having a new baby, feeding, sleeping etc etc etc Just worried about BLOODY stitches after my last experience. Infact, it would be pretty good if they said on Thur that my placenta is still low and I need a c-section!
