I am having x rated dreams too. Last night starred Ryan out of Eastenders and the night before was a guy I used to work with who I never fancied at all - wierd!

Had a really bad scare tonight.
I go along to the stables on a Wed night sometimes to sit in the middle and watch the class I used to ride in. Well, tonight, one of the girls fell off, caught her foot in the stirrup and the horse absolutely FREAKED out and spun around and around and around with the girl swinging round and round and round Shock. It was terrifiying - it went on for ages and ages and everything went into slow motion and my heart was thumping so so so fast. Never seen anything like it - she was being thrown around like a rag doll for such a long time. For a while, I stood, ready to grab the horse when it stopped but then I realised the horse was getting worse and worse and careering all over the place, and there was always the chance that the other horses could all start panicking too, so I left the arena pretty sharpish. Eventually it stopped - the girl seems ok but in a bad panicky state, and all of the rest of us are really shaken up Sad
I feel terrible abandoning the arena like I did, but it was a really dangerous situation and I just felt I had to get out of there Sad

Sassamax - oh no! You did the right thing, you have yourself and the LO to look out for. Hoepe the girl was okay. Did something startle the pony to make it act that way?

sasamaxx · 26/01/2011 22:58

Thanks for the reassurance supersunnyday and kara - I had a real surge of adrenaline that just made me leave and I do feel guilty, but I couldn't have done anything anyway and I was very close to them - would never forgive myself if something had happened.
I think the horse spooked at something and she just kind of lost her balance and kind of slid off. It would have been totally uneventful had her foot not wedged in the stirrup. No idea why the stirrup leather didn't come off the saddle though.
Ooohhh it's still making me shudder - I've messaged her on facebook but no word back from her yet - really hope she's OK. She wears a body protector and I always think it really restricts her movement so she can't correct her balance when things like that happen. So scary Sad

KaraStarbuckThrace · 27/01/2011 09:00

Morning all.

I have the freakiest dream last night.
I dreamt I had the baby at home at 37 weeks, but it was evil, it talked and had a full set of teeth and it bit me really hard when I tried to bfed it so I told DH to get some formula in!
Plus all these random people kept coming to the house to look at the baby and my mum rang up really annoyed as she only found out I'd had the baby via FB!!!

takethatlady · 27/01/2011 09:12

Goodness it's jittery on here at the moment isn't it? sasamaxx you did the right thing. If you could have helped you would, but you couldn't, so you absolutely did the right thing by getting out of there. I'm glad the girl is okay (and you and the LO).

jasmine51 how are you feeling today? I'm sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with the baby - perhaps you've caught a bit of a bug or something. Take the opportunity to lie down and get pampered, I say! I hope you're feeling much much better this morning. And supersunny I'm glad you are feeling better and that there have been no after-effects from your fall. Pregnancy makes everything ten times scarier, doesn't it?!

Awww congratulations bprincess - a little girl! Things must be getting more even on this thread now after the initial surge of boys Smile. Glad you had a lovely scan.

kara and all those who've had sex dreams and scary dreams - welcome to my world. Since pregnancy I have had sex with every member of Take That except Mark (he's the one I really want to have sex with Grin), with old school teachers, with my friend Michael (! - DH doesn't know about that one. I've had a sex dream about Michael before which he does know about. I'm not even attracted to Michael!), and a few randoms Blush. I've also had a baby turn into Chuckie and start massacring an entire congregation in a church. Last night I got sucked into a gambling den in a cafe on Margate seafront, where I grew up, and all because DH spent far too long leaving me alone and trying to find me a Twister (the ice cream). He resorted to a Mr Whippy but I was already involved in a high stakes card game by that point Grin

Must be the hormones!

jbells · 27/01/2011 09:27

lol at all the x-rated dreams i have been having them to the other nite i had sex with the damon of the vampire diaries he is very sexy tho Grin

takethatlady · 27/01/2011 09:31

Grin jbells

CMH1stbaby · 27/01/2011 10:14

jasmine51 I also had a gross day this week when I felt so sick and headachey, and bump really sore. Seems to have passed now so have decided to take it as a sign that the bebe was very busy growing that day Grin

also had lots of rude dreams with a whole array of people, including my supervisor who looks like Minty from Eastenders (not my type at all !!) - was mortified to have to face him the next morning in case he could tell from my face Blush

I'm very excited about scan after hearing all your news - I'm 19 weeks this week but because they're busy have to wait until the week after next for my scan..

Anyone else having mother-in-law-interference issues?! Trying to decide whether to let it go or to make a stand now - perhaps it will only get worse when the baby arrives Confused..

sasamaxx · 27/01/2011 10:53

lol these dreams are hilarious - I didn't have an erotic dream last night - I also had a scary one where the PDSA were chasing me to pickpocket me of my m&s vouchers.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/01/2011 11:35

You're all very amusing with you dirty dreams. Considering I've apparently started talking in my sleep (and snoring) it's probably a good thing my dreams have been clean thus far!

It's been lovely reading about all of the recent scans. Heres to many more (can you raise a toast with cheesecake?)

Sasa it sounds like you did absolutely the right thing in getting yourself out of the horses way. And I'm sure the girl involved will understand.

loueytb3 · 27/01/2011 13:55

I'm sorry, I haven't been on in ages and I haven't got a hope of catching up with you chatty lot...I've been so tired and just struggling to cope with work and sorting out my DCs. I am still waiting for the blooming phase. At least the vomiting and nausea seems to have finally worn off.

I am very jealous of those of you who are having/have had 20 wk scans. Mine isn't for nearly 3 weeks (won't be having it until 21 weeks) and while I have been feeling kicks, some days I get freaked out as I don't feel anything at all. I know in a few weeks I will be complaining that I'm being kicked all night but that seems ages away at the moment.

Right, I think you've been talking about baby essentials?? We bought a lot of stuff first time round and actually there isn't much I would say you definitely need. My must-have list:

Monitor - still used now as we have a big house and no hope of hearing them when we are downstairs with the telly on. We have never used it upstairs though, just kept the doors ajar. It was invaluable when we had bouts of sickness as we wouldn't have heard that otherwise.

Bouncy/vibrating chair. Admittedly I had twins and it really is essential then as you can keep one happy whilst feeding the other (never did get the hang of feeding them both together). Anyway, the ones we bought later on have been fab as they convert into toddler chairs and we used them until they were nearly 3 see here

Car seat/buggy - fairly obvious. Isofix car seats make life a heck of a lot easier rather than fiddling around with seatbelts. I get to buy a new buggy this time as we had a twin one first time round and am very pleased that DH likes the bugaboo as I secretly hankered after that before I realised I had twins first time round.

Cot mobile - really settled my boys this one is good and not too irritating

In-ear thermometer

Bath support for babies here and sitting babies here and here

muslins - you can never have too many Grin

changing mat - you can do without one but it can get messy and not so nice if it happens when you are in someone else's house!

Activity mat/play gym - good place to plonk a baby, if they are sick its caught on there and you can wash/dry them in no time at all.

breastfeeding cushion - helps to avoid you straining your back/shoulders by having to hold the baby in the right place. I got a huge twin one last time and then failed miserably at feeding them together so want to buy a new (smaller) one this time.

I'm not sure that a changing bag is essential, I spent bloody ages trying to find the "right one" as DH refused to carry most of them as they looked too girly (he had a point). However, after a while, I just chucked it all in a rucksack which was easier. The only things that are useful are the portable changing mat which you usually get with them and the bottle insulator but only if you are intending to bottle feed. I wouldn't get a breast pump/bottles/steriliser until you are sure you will bottle feed, otherwise you might well waste your money. Its so easy now to get them from amazon or a supermarket/mothercare that its not essential to have them before the baby is born.

Must go and do some work, will try my hardest to keep up from now Smile

Jer79 · 27/01/2011 14:33

Thanks so much to everyone in the know who's been posting their what to buy/skip advice. It is absolutely invaluable to a newbie in waiting like me. I am liable to buy everything and anything cute or extremely on sale so this is all great at keeping my head straight.

So, what I'm gathering are the top ten essentials (in no particular order):

1) Baby changing mat (or should that be mats? Firm home/foldable away ones?)

2) Bouncy chair

3) Baby monitor

4) Cheapo changing bag you can bung in the machine

5) Bath support

6) Car seat that is clickable rather than strappable

7) Lots of muslins/babywipes

8) Breast pump if you breastfeed (but only after trying to see if it's for you)

9) Baby bed - either the pram part of a travel system or a Moses basket (on a rocker seems to be the overall rec )

10) Baby sling

I wonder do any of you old-hands recommend those nice nappy bins that wrap the nappies in bags and control the smell? Or are they a waste of money?

Hoping all of you feeling low or ill are feeling a lot better.

As for the X-rated lot - fun isn't it?!

misshoohaa · 27/01/2011 14:36

Hi everyone, popping on quickly at work (written this in an email, and will then copy and paste!) to say I got an email offer for 40% off the bubba sling ? valid until 15/2/11.

Jer79 personally I think the nappy bins are a waste of money. You have to think where you are most likely to change the baby. I spent most of the day downstairs and hence changed the baby downstairs and there is a bin within a stones throw. Most people I know that bought one had the nappy bin upstairs in the babys room which I would have only have used in the evening/overnight. Also, the refills can be a PITA to get hold of. Nappy bags you can get from pretty much any supermarket.

moomin156 · 27/01/2011 17:36

Good afternoon everyone.....hope everyone has had a good day. Today i am thanking 'Gaviscon'......when i was about 8 weeks pg, a colleague at work told me to get some as there would be a time when i would need it. At 01:45, i woke and was so relieved to know it was in the house. I have had about half a bottle today cant seem to get rid of this indegestion/heartburn.
Got 4 days off now.....whoopee and absolutley no weekend plans. Need to do a big food shop and want to do some freezer cooking as i have no standby meals left. Have consultants appointment Monday and mom is coming with me so i hope she gets to hear HB :)

jasmine51 · 27/01/2011 19:13

Hello everyone
Thanks for the wishes - still feeling rubbish. Had another sweaty dizzy spell this morning and currently feel like I did in 1st 12 wks. I'm pretty sure bump has moved up a bit so assume its hormones. I had some ice cream earlier (well, you have to try everything!) and bump really started spinning so I know he's ok. Currently got horrible taste in mouth again so munching tictacs.

DH came home today so the first time he's seen me since November - he's pretty impressed by the bump but looked fairly terrified at the boobs. He's here for a month now...so I have a full schedule of 'activities' planned....buggy buying, diy, cupboard clearing etc etc

sasa your horse experience really made me shudder. I watched the film the Horse Whisperer over christmas and the opening scenes with the accident still haunt me. You did absolutely the right thing to scarper - theres no being a hero with a horse out of control...coming from someone who baled from a horse in full gallop last year - it was jump or smash into low branches.

mother I hope your goldfish is ok...your girls were hilariously frank about your goldfish tragedies!

If anyone local to me wants a moses basket with pale green and blue winnie the pooh frill, let me know. Its nice but I have 3 at the moment!

moomin156 · 27/01/2011 20:49

Can i ask you lot for some ideas......we cant think of a middle name for our boy choice.
Girl we have sorted......Florence Ruby.
Boy we are thinking of George but cant
decide on a middle name, our surname begins with V.
Ideally we were going to have Michael as a middle name as that is both our dads name but that was before we came up with George and i could never forgive myself LOL.
Suggestions welcome, as you can tell we like very traditional names.

ohnomummy · 27/01/2011 20:55

Hi all
Ok so i think im really late in joining hope thats ok :) ive been reading for a while so kinda feel like i know you all just didnt wanna jinx things by writing lol now im 20 weeks whoop whoop i feel its time crazy huh!!
im jelous of all the scans i dont have mine till 22 weeks :( feels like ages!!
hope you are all good and cant wait to share sstories xx

Clarkiee · 27/01/2011 22:04

Hello everybody,
Had a scan with the consultant today. Everything seemed generally okay he wants to see me in a fortnight. The problem is the actual consultant his people skills are shite not very good. He is all about facts and he says the positive things in the same monotone voice as he says the 'worst case senario' things so I never know how good/bad things are. He was talking about having them at 24 weeks and 28 weeks and when he asked if I was okay I said I was 'worried about having them too early' he started talking about inducing me at 36 weeks Confused make your mind up!!!
Wish I could go back to the nice sonographers and mid wives who explain things Sad

Anyway sorry fot my moan- on the positive side everything looks to be okay at this stage. It's really funny because they have both completely moved into new positions again- little fidgits Grin

How is everyone? Not had chance to read all your posts but the continuing discussion on baby essentials is great. Got a fair few things ticked off now Grin

motherofsnortpigs · 27/01/2011 22:05

jasmine51 Glad you've got your DH home safe and sound. The goldfish is remarkably still alive and in a tiny jug by the tank. It doesn't look well, but I haven't the heart to do it in so I keep feeding and treating it - more fool me. DD1 has written 3 illustrated stories about it and taken them to school. I hope she doesn't want to take the fish itself to school in a jam jar...

moomin156 Names that go with George: Peter, David, Edward, Thomas, James, Henry, (tempted now to write Gordon and Percy...), William. My grandfather was called George Michael, but obviously his parents couldn't have predicted that would become unusable when they named him in 1924!

Hello ohnomummy. Congratulations on getting to the half way mark!

sasa horrid about the horse - I am not a horsey-type person but trying to catch a spooked horse would have been foolish pregnant or not.

jer79 Good list. Sorry not to have replied about the epidural thoughts. I think if you are contemplating needing one, then you are absolutely right to have the baby at the JR. Lots of women get transferred from Wallingford during labour because they want one... tbh you'll probably be fine. I am not some kind of super-woman, but when I had DD2 I kept thinking to myself 'when it gets really bad, I'll have some gas and air' (a bit like never wanting to use the very lowest gear on my bike when going uphill in case the next climb is steeper). I used more G&A when I was being stitched up because I couldn't bear the thought of needles being stuck in me. In fact MW offered to bring it when she took blood off me last week (what a ninny!)

Anyway, getting tired and waffly. Night night.

Clarkiee · 27/01/2011 22:06

Was supposed to cross out the mild swear word- sorry I just italiced it. It should have said shite ha ha x

AlmightyCitrus · 27/01/2011 23:47

Swap you for my consultant Clarkiee We started off with an argument about why I wouldn't partake in his study (lots of internal exams and samples needed, nor do I actually fit the critera so erm...NO).

We followed that with an argument about how many children I already have. He said 2. I said 3. He insisted on 2. I pointed out that I was there on each occasion and can count.

We went straight on to a full and frank discussion on his "opinion" that my children obviously have different fathers. They don't. The guy is a knob. Got to see him again in a couple of weeks. Can't wait. Hmm
