Loads of luck for tomorrow rodeo, hope all goes well and let us know the good news as soon as you can !!!

37 wks today !!!!

rodeo1 · 09/10/2005 20:44

Thanks for all the messages girls!

I have packed the children off, one to my sisters and one to my mothers. They left after Sunday dinner, as soon as they closed the door behind them I promptly burst into tears! I'm so nervous about tomorrow, don't really feel excited because of it, isn't that terrible??

Just packed my bag (and bust the zip!), and just told dp how to log on to Mumsnet to let you all know!! Which hopefully he'll remember to do!! Going to have a quick bath, watch Lost, take my stomach acid tablet at 10, write dp a list of numbers to text/phone and then hopefully get some sleep! Have to be at hosp at 8 so I'm hoping to have baby before lunch, fingers crossed!!

Hopefully will get on here on Fri to give necessary gory details

Right, I'm bathed (got dp to give me a shave, don't trust the midwives cheap blades!) and I shall bid you all farewell!

Hopefully one of you will join me soon!!

Good luck Rodeo!

BEKsmum · 10/10/2005 08:12

Morning girls, as I type Rodeo should be at the hospital, how amzaing is that - can't believe the first baby will behere before the end of the day.

Hope you girls that are meeting up have a good time today and don't forget to take some pictures!

I'm quite excited I've got a growth scan tomorrow and a consultants appointment on Thursday after last weeks little scare, I think I only did it to get another look at bump before the big day! I am so tempted to find out what flavour it is but know I hould just wait and see. That's what dh wants anyway, can I be trusted not to ask I wonder?!!!

Right best go and get ready to take Ben & his girlfriend to pre-school, then it's back to tackle the ironing mountain. Have a good day all and lets hope Mr Rodeo remember to post here at some time in the next couple of days. BEKs (35+1)

Good morning Girls!

¡¡¡¡¡ Go, Go, Rodeo !!!! Your baby will be born today, WOW! Loads of positive thoughts flying your way!
ChaCha · 10/10/2005 10:28

Wow, very exciting to think that Rodeo will have a baby today

How is everyone? Hope you are all well. I've not much to say except that I'm still being sick and sciatica can get quite bad. I can't see me going on like this for what could be another 6weeks and am glad of this week's m/w appt.
My bump also seems to be tightening a lot during the evenings - I don't like it!

Thanks for listening x

Diddle · 10/10/2005 10:31

right a big hello to the people i know, beksmum, enthusia, rodeo, chacha, and anyone else who remembers me. whats all this about rodeo, is she going in early???

i have fantastic news. found out on saturday I am 5 wks pregnant, after 6 motnhs of trying. fingers crossed and i hope it all goes to plan, i am so nervous. but happy and excited.

hope you're all doing well and nice and fat now

novadandypowder · 10/10/2005 10:53

Congratulations Diddle - hoorah for babies

Decided to catch up on some DIY on saturday and sand and gloss the back doors before the winter sets in. Managed to do half before the dark set in and then - IT RAINED!!! I didn't think it was supposed to come until later this week. Anyway, I've got to go out and finish the rest of it off today, although I've got to be careful as it killed my back come saturday night and I couldn't get off the sofa (well, thats my excuse ).

Still having problems with my hands and feet, drives me crazy sometimes.

Hope you get some relief from your sickness Chacha.

Belated good wishes to Rodeo xx.

ChaCha · 10/10/2005 11:14

What wonderful news!!! Congratulations Diddle (Are you on the due in June thread now?)
Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy - Really happy for you!!!

Diddle · 10/10/2005 11:18

no chacha not on it yet, can't bear to leave the ttc after miscarriage thread, might join later on.

KristinaM · 10/10/2005 11:37

Diddle - that's wonderful news - congratulations! Yes we are all very big and fat now, though some more than others......

Rodeo is having her elective section today - she went in first thing this morning. I think she is only 36 weeks - not sure why she's going so early??? Anyway, we are all awaiting good news from Mr Rodeo.

Soem of the November mums from the north of england are meeting up today as well. And lots of us are nesting - painting, papering, building flatpack furtiture, clearing out cupboards etc.....It's all happening here

babyonboard · 10/10/2005 11:47

Fingers crossed for Rodeo..it's so exciting!

I am pleased to say I am in much better spirits..we had a lovely weekend away. Lots of over-eating and relaxing. It was good to get away from things and we found being in a 'neutral' environment we could look at our problems totally differently.
We talked everything through and realised things aren't so bad. We have asked MIL to keep her distance for a little while- hope she doesn't take offence and realises that she is putting strain on us that could seriously jeapordise our relationship with her. And though dp's job is awful, at least he has one! Plus he is in a position where he is learning, so it will all be valuable when he finally gets an opportunity elsewhere.
I have resolved to not let any of these things get to me..and to enjoy these last few weeks and all the preperations for the baby.
We have designated an alcove in our room for the baby, and have moved our wardrobe into the spare room as we want him with us for the first couple of months at least. I have put up a mobile and some pictures in his little 'snug', and we are awaiting delivery of a new chest of drawers for all the baby paraphernalia..I'm excited!
Just about to catch up with all your news ..haven't been on since thursday so amy take a while!
hope you are all well ....

ChaCha · 10/10/2005 11:48

...and some of us resemble plump ducks... plump ducks that have their heads stuck in bowls!!

Have just been trying to tidy away weekend mess and not getting very far. I suppose it is normal to find difficulty in putting dishes away etc..in lower cupboards or is that only me?
I really need some reassurance today, surely this is not my lot until November???

Londoner · 10/10/2005 12:33

Hello again!

Congratulations Diddle, we haven't met before but your news is indeed marvellous, hoorah!
nova, well done with the DIY (esp. with hand/feet probs)- relieved I'm not the only one ignoring advice against it.... not longer have to feel so devious or guilty!
ChaCha, your description of plump ducks etc...lol..
Sorry to hear you're so croc and have sciatica too .
I'm also trying to tidy up weekend-chaos-fallout... obviously, seeing as I'm posting on here, and really relate to your difficulty in reaching low cupboards... also walking past stuff on the floor that's too impossible to bend down and pick up.... I just narrow my eyes at it hatefully as I roll past it, cursing the fit -mostly male(so far!) population of my house for leaving it there! lol, lol. Don't worry, in just a few weeks we'll be back to our usual fit/able bodied selves (?), I always revel in being able to sleep on front/stand on chairs to reach stuff/bend over/get in & out of bath/turn over in bed in one movement, after giving birth.... it's all really great and worth hanging in there for!
bob, glad to hear you're feeling chipper today, and have reassessed stuff and come out with a positive take on things... phew! always such a relief when you can do that isn't it? Well done!
Beks, good luck with your growth scan tomorrow
Hi to everyone else too!

Londoner · 10/10/2005 12:38

...........Well, I did just take delivery of two cannisters of laughing gas! lol, lol, lol, asked woman if that was to get me & husband through the next few weeks, this is so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!
Also got a 'delivery pack'.... actually black bin liner full of all midwife medical supplies for home birth... there are umbilical cord clips and tiny wrist id bands in there & everything.... nearly wept! Awesome!

babyonboard · 10/10/2005 12:58

londoner- that must be exciting! i am very jealous of your home birth- my main fear about labour is just the hospital environment, and having to stay in for ages afterwards. It will be so lovely to snuggle up in your own bed with the baby right away and have your own kitchen and bathroom to use!
Diddles - congratulations! hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.
Nova- glad you feel better...these hormones eh?
Chacha- boo for sickness!how are you coping with the fasting too? and I know what you mean about housework. Sometimes I feel proud that I managed to do the hoovering and ironing in one day..hehehe.
i went a bit crazy last night actually when we got home, dp and our friends did the reorganizing of furniture and started to repaper the spare room, and i felt guilty so scrubbed the bathroom floor and walls (it's tiled all over) then did all the kitchen cupboards. today i can barely move..I really made my spd flare up, but it wasn't hurting at the time! so silly!..but a good excuse to just relax and spend all day at the pc or watching crappy daytime tv. I
have taken to using my birthing ball as a computer chair..it's so much more comfortable! crazy!
Kristina- i have low blood pressure too..I was in hospital for it, but it comes and goes. Have you had any fainting spells?

Is anyone else having very odd dreams? when I wake up I feel like I have been dreaming all night..and it's an ongoing narrative with some warped representation of almost everything i have thought, done or seen the previous day. an ongoing theme is me going into labour in a school!? and there is a midwife there, but she is on the loo I am hammering on the door for her, and the baby starts to come out, then is born with two small pushes just as she dashes in..very strange! I have had the same dream several times too..must get my friend to analyse it all for me..hehe

karmamother · 10/10/2005 13:00

Morning all.

How exciting, Rodeo might've had her baby by now! God, it really brings it home to you that all this waiting is nearly over.

Londoner, yay for home births! I think my DP would pass out if I suggested one. He can just about cope with the possibility if delivering under water.

ChaCha, really feel sorry for you. I have now got sciatica which wakes me up & stops me getting back to sleep. I have to say, you've had an awful time with sickness. For some reason my aversion to strong cooking smells has returned. Our bumps have not read the manual properly!!

Diddle, congratulations! You'll be big & fat like the rest of us soon!

BoB, the nursery sounds exciting. It's probably helping to take your mind off other things. We'll be having baby in our bedroom for a while too.

Well, I'm very confused now. I've had visits to the 2 hospitals I can book at I've decided to choose the one slightly further away. Because I've got GD, I thought it would be better to go to the big one at York. However, when I visited the smaller one at Northallerton I fell in love with it. The MW took an hour & was wonderful. She let me talk to the Sister in SCBU about what might happen to my baby when she's born. At York, it took 20 mins & the MW was crap. Just need to sort out it out with my MW as she's already booked me at York & sent some bloods off there. I think you've got to go with your gut instinct, haven't you? What do the rest of you think about your hospitals?

karmamother · 10/10/2005 13:03

BoB, thats so spooky! Just as I read your post I was tinking about my wierd dream last night. I was blowing up my birthing ball I was having a lot of trouble with it. Then it started to change shape & ended up as a birthing pool instead. My subconscious is telling me to go for the water birth, I think!!

karmamother · 10/10/2005 13:04

I was actually "thinking", not "tinking". Bloody laptop.

babyonboard · 10/10/2005 13:08

hehe..Karma thats so funny!
God knows what my subconcious is trying to tell me ...except maybe not to let the midwife go to the loo when I'm in labour..teeheee

goldenoldie · 10/10/2005 13:15

Karma - how is it going with the GD?

I've got it just about sorted now and know what i can eat and not eat. If I'm careful I can slip in a square of v.high cocoa content choc as a treat and still keep my blood sugar just under 8.

Hossie - go with where you feel most comfortable. I'm having maximum intervention, so I've chosen a central Ldn teaching hospital - lots of expertise and plenty of SCBU cots!
