Well, another scan today, all still ok, putting on weight, doesn't look like I will be having small babies!!!Xmas Confused Twin 1 is now estimated at 4lb 1oz Twin 2 4lb 9ozs!!!

However, they have now started moving far more at night, so I get up for a wee every 2 hours, go back to bed and either get the crap kicked out of me or DH starts to snore really loudly, I think they are all in it together!Wink

EauRudolph · 17/12/2010 16:48

Lol @ them all ganging up on you Grin Glad things are going well!

I've been obsessively list-making for the last few days, Christmas lists and things-I-need-to-do-before-baby--arrives list. There's so much to doooo Has anyone seen that people on the January thread have started having their babies? Us next!

wigglesrock · 17/12/2010 17:27

Completely snowed in here, never seen snow like it, managed to get to work this morning, but we are not opening tonight or tomorrow so if I don't work tomorrow at all only 3 more shiftsrt4 to go - Yippee Xmas Grin

Dd1 finishes school next Thursday and dd2 stops playgroup on Wed, so have a few days to finish any Christmassy bits and pieces. I keep buying sweets for their stockings but they keep mysteriously disappearing Xmas Blush

tadventjennyp · 17/12/2010 17:54

I'm not sure the (expensive imported) Cadbury's Christmas tree decorations will make it on to the tree either wiggles. Xmas Grin Hopefully we will be swapping babysitting with our neighbours tomorrow. They'll have ours for a few hours in the morning and we'll have theirs in the afternoon so we can go Christmas shopping. I need to check what I've actually bought the dcs already though. Xmas Blush

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 17/12/2010 19:17

wiggles great news about work, little extra rest eh?Dd finished today so at least i have a break from school runs and packed lunches.Spent whole day in bed and didnt even get up this am to get dd to school.I have never done that in my whole motherhood life-always get up with kids even when i had chemo!!DH was supposed to be doing some housework but seemed to spend more time on the internet tbh and then gets frustrated that he has been "cleaning all day"it would take him an hr if he didnt keep stopping.
I popped down for supplies and then managed to go up one flight of stairs before the breathlessness was so bad i ended up sobbing which made it worse.Saw gp for 32 wks check and she was very nice (as i started crying again)i am still anaemic despite the iron my chest is infected hence the increase in breathlessness, but baby was fine and my oxygen levels are 99%so felt more reassured. However i am measuring 37 wks which is huge as am 33wks tomorrow.she wasnt bothered but said the ante natal clinic on Tuesday may want to scan me.Dh bought a massager in sainsburys so i am hoping for abit of tlc later

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/12/2010 20:08

Hello everyone Smile
Haven't read all the recent posts so sorry if I've missed something.

jackfrost is that estimated weight now or full term? hope you're not too uncomfortable as every time I feel a twinge/electric shock (!) or general aches and pains I think how much more women with twins must feel it, but you have double the fun to come!?! Wink

angels I'm so sorry that this time of year brings back memories, try to concentrate on what's happening around you now and let that distract you. I had an early mc 3 years ago and I tell myself that it was Ben but he just wasn't ready and now he is, maybe it's the same with your little girl? I don't mean that to sound too soppy or sentimental and ignore it if you need to but it's just how I cope when those feelings arise and I'm a complete sceptical atheist but sometimes logic goes out the window.

I agree with those of you saying how great this club has been and how supportive. I know I'll start crying when I see our birth stories.

I had a scan yesterday and all is well, HE ALREADY HAS HAIR!!!! Was shocked this would show up on a normal scan but made me and OH go all funny, we're hairy people so it was expected but to see it like that.... Saw the paediatrician and lo will have a scan in his first two weeks and they'll see what happens from there but it's really rare that he'll need an op so staying positive!
I know the estimated foetal weight is notoriously wrong but apparently he's already 4 1/2 lbs!!! They thought he'd be a small baby, ha ha ha! As long as his head isn't too big I don't mind Wink

Looks like we're going to be snowed in here tomorrow.... running out of jobs to do, oh well ,there's always eating which is my new hobby! Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/12/2010 20:11

ledkr just saw your post (takes me ages to type..), just wanted to say thinking of you as sounds like you've had enough now. Make sure you get a lovely massage and don't think twice about resting. Smile

jackfrost · 17/12/2010 20:49

Hi Needto - that is estimated weights at the moment!!! They still have another 8 weeks of growing to do!!![shocked] Very much doubt I'll go much more than another 5 weeks though!!!
Twin 2 has put on nearly 2lbs since last scan 4 weeks ago!

I can't really tell if it is worse carrying twins or not as I have no experience of carrying 1!Wink

PolkaDotRudolf · 17/12/2010 21:21

Evening all :)

Glad you have escaped from work Wiggles hope you are having a nice evening!

DH went back to work day and DS is feeling a bit better - may even leave the house tomorrow Shock as long as I'm not up in the night! Got to brave M&S as need some bigger knickers Blush Might just surrender to granny pants now. Have got 2 pairs of Carriwell maternity support knickers which are FAB but no point ordering online now as by the time they actually arrive I won't have long to go.

Spent 1/2 an hour in the nursery today while DMum looked after DS. Think I ought to start washing stuff soon really "just in case" and then I can actually put things away in drawers as opposed to just all over the place. Looking at all the "newborn" vests was quite surreal Confused!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/12/2010 22:04

jackfrost I bow down before you, never let me moan again about the size of my tummy!!!!! you're definitely doing something right nutritionally though Wink

just for fun, I was wondering what things our partners are promising to do (or promised to do if this isn't your first) that you are doubtful of. we can then look back and see if they live up to their promises!

my OH has said I won't need to change a nappy during his paternity leave and that he'll get up in the night to help with night feeds Hmm I don't doubt he thinks he will but remain sceptical as to whether it will happen!

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 18/12/2010 00:18

First time round DH did change all the nappies during his paternity leave (except the ones where I was in hospital without him, obviously) and got up to help with night feeds. The second time... not so much Grin.

snowangels1 · 18/12/2010 08:03

My DH hasn't offered to do anything I don't think Xmas Confused, although I know/hope he will be good with helping me when I need it (although he's the type that needs to be asked as opposed to seeing I'm struggling and think I need help, and I'm the type that is very good at making it look like I'm struggling and sighing loudly alot but not actually ask for help Hmm ).

Never made it to my mw apt yesterday - set out and it started snowing madly suddenly and roads got icy dicey and I got scared and came back home (was worried I'd get stuck in a cold car somewhere and not be able to walk home or slip over or sth). Then, of course, it stopped snowing straight away and I felt Xmas Blush.

janedoe25 · 18/12/2010 10:41

ledkr I am sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. Do not feel guilty about spending time in bed it will do you the world of good. Hope ur husband is taking good care of you.

Hope everyone is well and has a fab weekend Xmas Smile

NeedToSleepZZZ · 18/12/2010 11:03

Glad you stopped and turned back angels, the roads around here were dreadful yesterday afternoon and we didn't have lots of snow, it just froze as it hit the ground.

I had planned on going into town but waiting to see of things clear a bit, the roads seem okay now but the pavements are icy still, grr, need to finish christmas stuff!

prof I hope my OH is as good as yours with nappies and night help but he has serious problems with waking up, think teenager at weekends when he has a day off! Grin.

knittamerrykid · 18/12/2010 14:03

Hello all,
all day out yesterday celebrating DH's bday and absolutely knackered today but somehow I've got the nesting instinct in full flow, have even baked already!

angels how are you finding the hypnobirthing cds? I've been wondering whether to get one, not sure if it is too late.

I don't think DH will change any nappies in the first few days, he's been cleaning the little tray for the past 9 months and will continue to do so, so I don't mind. He already cooks most meals and does the hoovering, so it'll be just the cleaning of kitchen and bath that he'll have to learn...
We've had lots of chats lately, he's worried he'll find the baby too fragile and be scared of picking him up, he's already scared of the bump thinking he does not want to hurt him... Any of your DHs have found this with their first child? I've said he'll get used to it. He's very excited about having a son, just not when he's so little! Xmas Hmm

40Weeks · 18/12/2010 14:11

Hello everyone

How are you all? Doing well I hope. Snowing here AGAIN and am well hacked off with it tbh. Kids are bored already and I was supposed to be going to (wait for it) a CHOCOLATE making workshop today, where you get to make loads of your own truffles and gorge on a chocolate fountain but its been cancelled due to the weather. (I know things could be worse but still, so close to the chocolate fountain!) And supposed to have my Christams girls night out tonight at a lovely local reastaurant, but looks like that will be cancelled too boo hoo. All my favourite things have been snowed off!

On the plus side, all is well with bubba, lots of movement etc. I am just trying to stay away from the cupboard where all the yummy food is, as I have a tendency to eat when bored!

PolkaDotRudolf · 18/12/2010 14:26

40Weeks Chocolate making workshop? Sounds like my kind of thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well maybe a chocolate eating workshop might be more suited to my needs Wink Sorry it's cancelled - any time to reschedule it?

It's snowing here too (SW) but not as much as some of you guys have had. Trouble is as we're near the coast it hardly ever snows so we're even less prepared than the rest of the country!!!

DH's work Xmas do is tonight so not sure what is happening with that yet....

Just opened a tin of shortbread someone gave us as a Xmas pressie Grin to be fair - they should have at least wrapped it up!

In other news we were trying to weigh DS earlier (such a mission) as having major nappy falling down all the time issues and wanted to see if he was actually in the right size for his weight - anyway, I digress - I jumped on the scales myself and I have actually lost 3kg since my booking appt and my bump is quite big now Hmm For me this is a good thing as I am very overweight but I just can't see how it happened Confused !!!

wigglesrock · 18/12/2010 14:56

Polka I always lose weight throughout my pregnancies, even when I'm not as sick as this time. I'm a size 16 18 normally Xmas Grin and I haven't put an ounce on. I always lose about 1 - 1.5 stone while having baby!! The fabbest I have ever looked has been at both dds baptisms (about 6-8 weeks after they've been born) Unfortunately all good intentions slip by the wayside after the first few months of sleeplessness Xmas Blush

Anyway work closed again tonight, so another free night, really happy because its Mr Wiggles birthday and thought I'd be working the whole day and night. Know the snow is crap for some people and usually for me too, but this weekend it has seemed like an extra Christmas present Xmas Grin

40Weeks · 18/12/2010 15:28

Ahhh and the Sky box isnt receiving a signal! Grrrr.

V. jealous of those of you tht dont gain weight during pg. Have been to the gym 3 times this week, including Spin AND body pump and am still gaining :-(

Maybe missing out on the chocolate workshop with fountain was a good thing Xmas Hmm

snowangels1 · 18/12/2010 16:51

knitta have just done a pg relaxation hypnobirthing CD [psychic vibes emoticon]. It seems good - very relaxing. I haven't treid the birth prep yet as you do that from 32 weeks. Just for the amount of times it has sent me to sleep when I've really needed a dose I think it has been worth the money Xmas Wink.

I feel like my body is falling apart! I've had a cough for a couple of weeks and have now pulled a muscle from coughing so much so every cough now is agony Confused.

Btw - has anyone had return of third tri tiredness and when did it hit? I'm nearly 31 weeks and this past few days, no matter how much sleep I do or don't get, I just feel shattered and can barely manage anything. I'm not sure if this is normal or not???

40weeks that's rubbish the choc eating making got cancelled - not suprised you were looking forward, sounds fab.

We have lots of snow again here - so much so that DH has given up ongetting to work next week (works outside) and as he's self employed means another week losing money and he tells me now we will have to forgo a holiday next year because of all of the loss in income. Feel very Sad as we missed out on one this summer due to my ms/first trimester misery.

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 18/12/2010 17:49

Tried to get to my mother's today -- left house at 11am, took four hours to travel twenty miles so then decided to turn back (and only took about an hour for the return journey by a different route as the snow ploughs had been through by then and there were fewer mad fools on the roads).

PolkaDotRudolf · 18/12/2010 17:52

angels so sorry that you'll have to give up next year's holiday :( Is it your DH who is a gardener or is that someone else? Must be really hard to plan ahead when you work outside over the winter.

DH is still at work and no news re party tonight so still none the wiser. DMum just took us to Sainsbury's - first time DS has been out the house since last Friday Shock! Got him a little remote control car thingy for £3 and he is now whizzing it up and down the kitchen floor :)

snowangels1 · 18/12/2010 18:10

prof how annoying. I guess at least you have a quieter weekend Hmm

polka yes DH is gardener - no chance of doing any work really with snow all over the place. At least I might have him home to pack everything ready to move next week Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 18/12/2010 23:43

It is so difficult being self employed and so sorry it looks like no holiday but maybe you could have a little holiday later in the year if business picks up? I love the cds you sent me, thank you! Have been listening to them at night to relax me, unfortunately they don't make me fall asleep but they are relaxing.

The ice is really bad on the roads down here (SE) but I have my fingers crossed I'll be able to get out tomorrow! Going a bit mad with mad cabin fever. Will you be able to get to your mum's in the week prof?

I'm in shock at women losing weight during pregnancy and want to know your secret!

Had a job offer today from my old work place of teaching in France for the easter holidays, I said no but would have loved to have done it, not possible now! I might go and do a bit of admin work for them in the new year but not sure if it's sensible as have been signed off for the duration. Need some money though, grrr!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 19/12/2010 12:23

morning all,im back from the dead.Feel a little better today but still hard to breathe.
Ended up in a "debate" with dh last night as apparentlyhe would prefer to spend his days of resting and "doing his own thing"and for some reason "recently" he feels like i keep giving him jobs to do-cant think why can you?
I have really read him the riot act and told him i couldnt even care less if he left and that i dont even want him with me at the birth as hes been useless throughout the pg so why should he get the best bits.I didnt even cry i was so angry.he has gone to work now but we are stil not speaking.
Snowed in well and truly herebut im not up to much anywaybut am a bit worried if i needed to get to hospital. I have my 34 hospital app tuesday so i hope i can get there.
I am just looking at apartments in ibiza for the summer hols.I figured id never get this long off agin so wil use my meagre savings and book something for the school hols, how nice will that be.Hope you are well and enjoying the x factor free weekend.
