That's a shame about the scan prof but hopefully you'll get a better view next time, bless her!

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 15/12/2010 15:07

My sister gave me a laugh before! She's sent us a Christmas card but it's a Moonpig card with pictures of her, BIL and my two nephews in Christmas baubles, PMSL! Xmas Grin It's a lovely card but so unlike my DS to get one with a pic of her on, she usually hates photos of herself! I texted her saying, "god, you wouldn't believe the disgusting Xmas cards people send. I've just received one with a right bunch of uglies on!" ha ha. She rang me to call me a cheeky sod!

snowangels1 · 15/12/2010 15:17

speaking of personalised christmas cards etc - thought some of you might enjoy this web site [http://www.elfyourself.com]. I've been doing this with photos of myself/my family piccies for a few years now and always gives me hysterics Xmas Grin

snowangels1 · 15/12/2010 15:18

oh, link didn't work. Not sure why. I'll try this and this [http://www.elfyourself.com] in the hope one works. If this doesn't work you'll have to copy and paste. SOrry.

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 15/12/2010 15:27

Double square brackets, angels -- you're only using one set. And you shouldn't include the bit, just what comes after the //.

snowangels1 · 15/12/2010 15:53

Thanks prof. I hope after all this effort you all take the time to elf yourself!! www.elfyourself.com

Am currently on my third warm milk and honey for the reflux/gurgling/burping Xmas Confused. Hope this one helps!!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 15/12/2010 17:31

profdont go yet... can i take two co codamol?I feel terrible.Shame about scan hope its ok on Sunday

janedoe25 · 15/12/2010 18:31

Hi ladies, hope all is well. im in utter agony just now with SPD, finally got a referral for physio, however it is a group session to show exercises etc Hmm so not sure what to expect. Just sent the OH out to get a take away for dinner as i can't face cooking. Feeling so sorry for myself today, sorry for the self indulged moan!

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 15/12/2010 19:02

IIRC (and remember I am not a medical professional) a couple of co codamol should be fine -- it does get prescribed in pregnancy and while there are warnings about taking it in late pregnancy that's because if you are taking it regularly the baby can be born addicted to codeine. But if you are taking a couple as a one-off six weeks before your section date that's not going to be an issue.

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 15/12/2010 19:09

i.e. I would take it. But I'm happily eating Stilton and had sashimi last week...

PolkaDotRudolf · 15/12/2010 19:19

I think they gave me co codamol when I was in the hospital the other week...

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 15/12/2010 19:34

thnks for the advice,i looked on the net and was abit put off as it can cause breathing difficulties and i can hardly breath as it is.I am now praying that this is the worst of it and it will be no worse tomorrow.Just realised this weekend is the last befoer xmas and we have to go to bloody dh's friends for dinner saturday, last thing i need tbh,he then said his parents are coming in the week to bring presents and stay ffs i have ante natal clinic on 22nd and dd's ent app on 23rd ds 3 back at home in spare room and dh at work untill xmas day.I feel like im going to have af*ing meltdown.Wanted to get the house clean and ready and will now have their crap everywhere.I may let this illness drag on even if it doesnt and say no no no to everyone then leap out of bed and clean etc whilst dh is at work Xmas Grin

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 15/12/2010 19:47

We have to go

  • out on Friday night in London
  • 2 hour drive to my mother's on Saturday morning, possibly going via my brother's to drop off presents if it isn't snowing too badly
  • out on Saturday night for my sister's birthday
  • then back to London for Sunday morning scan appointment
  • then to St Albans for lunch with friends who have been in Australia for the last year but are back for a couple of weeks
  • then back home
  • then drive to North Norfolk on Monday morning (about 5 hours, probably)

but at least THEN we should have a nice quiet week over Christmas.

Limara · 15/12/2010 19:50

ledkrsbellyislikesantas GET TO BED.....NOW!
I'll sort those PIL's out for you! Grin

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 15/12/2010 19:50

janedoere spd, as i have had such extreme breathlessness i have been unable to walk far at all.Since then my spd has become nothing more than an annoying ache on my pubic bone and sometimes my groin. I can therefore reccommend that you rest as much as possible,by the time i was this far on with dd i was in agony but was still working up until the end and running around after ds 1 2 and 3,hope that helps.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 15/12/2010 19:52

ok prof you win but at least you can breath-i presume.
Limara when abouts in February in your baby due my love? Will you be having a section? hmm?

Limara · 15/12/2010 19:55

ledkrsbellyislikesantas For some reason, I feel like I'm pregnant?...........hmm. Wot are you, the pregnancy thread police or summut? Grin

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 15/12/2010 20:01

I'm also nearly a month behind you, so doing all that isn't nearly as much of a strain for me. And I do keep muttering to myself "at least after this weekend I can rest..."

smallblackfestiveflowers · 15/12/2010 20:11

ledkr and prof you're making me tired just reading what you have on over the next week!

I went for my flu jab today and they wouldn't give it to me as in the booklet that they are given at the surgery it says is is not suitable / licensed for pregnant women. Wish the NHS would get their message straight, and actually bother telling their GP's what they are recommending. I said that I couldn't believe that I was the 1st pregnant woman to come in for the jab (and this is following a full discussion on the phone about my current condition when booking the appointment.....highly irritating waste of an hour of my life sitting in a waiting room whilst they decided not to give it to me Xmas Angry.
Got my midwife appt tomorrow so will ask what she thinks about it all.

PolkaDotRudolf · 15/12/2010 20:38

sbf how very odd! I am sure it's licensed for pregnant women and my GP definately offered it to me, but then said he would not give it to his wife were she pg Hmm so I decided against it. It was definately an option though. Are there different "brands" of the vaccine perhaps??? Bizzare.

PolkaDotRudolf · 15/12/2010 20:54

TMI but can anyone else not reach to tidy up their undercarriage? Blush Blush Blush

I think I am going to ask DH to help me tonight... not sure if he will agree but needs must and all that!

wigglesrock · 15/12/2010 20:58

sbff how strange - had mine this morning, no problems.

Now ledkr and prof if we're going to do I'm busier than you Xmas Grin I'm working 5 hours on Sat morn, heading back into work on Sat evening for 6 hours, oh also working Fri and Mon!! NaNaNaNaNa!!

Ledkr I've been taking co-codamol on and off for back pain caused by previous car accident, on the advice of GP.

SantaIsMyLoveSlave · 15/12/2010 21:08

It's definitely officially recommended for pregnant women (although this is the first year that's been the case). SIL's DH is a doctor and he wasn't keen, however, so she didn't have it even though she was pregnant until very recently (no idea why he wasn't keen, and he's an orthopaedic surgeon so not a specialist).

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 16/12/2010 07:23

morning all.been up since 5.30 cos my nose literally will not stop running, its driving me mental.
polka i have been vaguely attempting mine i have an electric trimmer and use acombination of contortion and the mirror,i figured any thing is better than nothing.
I told dh he better try and get some time off next week and i will also probably cry off the dinner on sat as who wants my germs at xmas,i also told him it was bloody ridiculoues of pil to expect to come and stay afew days before xmas and that they would be using asleeping bag cos my spare bed will either be filled with ds or used by my ds's over xmas i cant spend my whole life changing bedding.
My Mum actually had alittle moan yesterday about them which is very unlike her.She is annoyed that despite them being so pushy and making me feel very stressed in keep inviting themselves down to stay they havent even bought me so much as a vest for the baby, they are p'd off at the mo as dh told them that w will not be coming to essex for a bit due to the babe being too little for 3 hrs in the carseat, itold him yesterday they are most welcometo purchase us one of the flat ones if it matters that much to them-rant over.
going to attempt to do an hr in town today with dh despite everyone saying not toit will be my last chance to shop without dd.

janedoe25 · 16/12/2010 07:47
