Thanks everyone for the advice about the blood clots, I spoke to the labour ward, who were lovely and so helpful. Said the clots were nothing to worry about unless it becomes more frequent, also to visit Dr as I might have a urine infection.
So I visited dr & now have some antibiotics.
well catch up soon, who will be next?

CheeseandGherkins · 25/11/2010 15:00

Afternoon. Midwife came this morning to drop homebirth box off and for antenata check. BP was OK but I mentioned my concerns and she said to keep an eye on it. Baby is NOT behaving though, she is oblique with her head against my right hip...She told me baby has an unstable lie and that if my waters break I need to call in right away and be checked, also warned of the risks of cord prolaspe (which is more common with this position apparently and all the extra fluid) and if that happened it would be an ambulance job. Fairly scary thought. She also said that we'll see what happens at the scan on Tuesday but that the hospital may want to keep me in if baby gets into a good head down position and break my waters so that it reduces the risk Shock not sure about that! If she stays this way then it'll be a c-section so I'm scared about that now, just when I'd got into the right frame of mind for a natural birth I now have to consider a section. The thought really terrifies me, never had surgery before, hate needles, hate the thought of being numb and being cut open etc. Totally not what I was expecting. I'm also, getting painful tightenings, joy, but now hoping that it's definitely nothing.

WLL similar position to you now expect my baby is/was oblique today. Hope your baby turns for you! I'm also really scared at the prospect of a c-section. Don't worry about the biting, it's normal and I'm glad your friend was OK about it, I would have been as they are just little and don't really know what they are doing properly.

DF glad the midwife went well, always helps when you find them easy to like.

MrsS With you on the niggles, so frustrating though when it's nothing! Lol at your dh and the ashes :o My ds2 sounds similar to your DD, constantly on the go and chattering away, he'll be 4 in early Jan. I've been more tired the past few days, not as much energy as before, my nesting urge has gone lol.

Cheryl hope you get better soon, isn't nice being pregnant and so ill.

Slightly I never get flu jab and I'm asthmatic, they offer me it and did with this pregnancy, I wouldn't definitely while pregnant. Just personal choice isn't it really.

notso sounds awful that you were stuck for so long :( 36 weeks today, not tomorrow :o My bp has been OK thankfully, just keeping an eye on things as I've swollen a lot more, bit headachy and seeing flashing lights etc.

emma it's freezing here today too, really feeling it.

maxpower If you do get a new hoover I think Curry's still have a deal on where if you take the old one in with you they take an amount off a new one. Did that with mine.

OWO wish it were snowing here, it's cold enough so may as well, love the snow.

maxpower · 25/11/2010 15:14

C&G thanks for the hoover tip, I'll see how we get on at the repair shop. Sorry your LO isn't behaving and causing you added stress. FWIW I had an emcs last time and the op itself really was the least stressful bit of it all. Here's hoping you won't need one.

OWO Envy of the snow. I asked DD this monring if she'd checked to see if it had snowed - she told me she'd be 'delighted' if it had Grin

I know it's cold without even going outside as both my cats have been in all day.

lavita glad labour ward were able to help you

oh, MrsS , if your LO arrives while the ashes are on, do you think your DH might suggest the name Ashley/Ashleigh to mark the occasion Wink

Right, I'm really really going to wrap at least one christmas present up this afternoon.

MrsSnaplegs · 25/11/2010 15:41

max We already have a firm decision on the name - there will be no changes for the bl**dy cricket!!

As to hoover we bought a Tesco own brand one a couple of years ago and it has been great! Only expected it to last 6 months or so as it was an emergency purchase - it's been really good though and we have DD, dog and 2 cats!!

owo send me some of your snow - pretty please Grin

c&g I can understand your concern but at least head is down in right region - at 36 weeks there is still time for LO to move to the right place

I have done nothing all day - did feel slightly guilty until DH pointed out it was my 1st day on mat leave - he added if I was still sat on my bum doing nothing in Jan he might comment then Grin Do you get the impression I'm not going to handle this time off and relaxing thing particularly well Grin

lavita glad you got checked out - hope ABs help!

CheeseandGherkins · 25/11/2010 15:56

maxpower thanks, our cats have been in and out even though it's freezing, mainly the bigger one though just found the little one upstairs asleep :o

MrsS I hope so, shoulder is presenting at the moment so I couldn't even attempt a vaginal birth, mind you I wouldn't with a breech either which she's also been on and off. I don't fancy having to go into hospital until she's born though which is what the midwife touched upon. Concerned that there may not be time because I've never gone to 40 weeks and delivered at 36 weeks before and she's a fair size already apparently. I'd quite like a plan in place though as I hate not knowing what will happen.

It's sooo cold, can't believe it. New iphone came today :o been playing about with it but still waiting for it to be activated.

notso · 25/11/2010 16:03

Glad you are ok lavita.

C&G poor you, hope your LO starts playing the game soon and stays in good position.
Oh yes 36 weeks today! I thought it was Weds todayBlush

maxpower despite my good intentions I still haven't wrapped any presents, hope you fair better than me.

Grin MrsSL I think your allowed to do nothing despite it being harder than it sounds. DH has been phoning all day to make sure I am not doing anything!

My Mum has bought me a present, a strap for the phone incase I get stuck on the floor again, apparently my Grandpa had a spareHmm shame I can't borrow his stair lift too!

Two questions; is anyone else having a clothes predicament?
I am down to one pair of jeans everything else is too tight fine if LO comes soon but could potentially have 6 more weeks if I go overdue, and I might have my 30th Birthday meal to dress up for.

Have you all had your HIP grant money and if so how long did it take?
I sent the form off about 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

maxpower · 25/11/2010 16:34

lol MrsS

notso I have wrapped not one but two presents . Lol at you using your grandad's spare phone strap. I told DH what had happened to you and he said it's the kind of thing he'd expect me to do Hmm Grin I'm down to one pair of trousers for work. Mat jeans are way too uncomfortable for when I'm at home and they keep falling down Angry. I've got potentially another 7 weeks (worse case scenario) so you have my complete sympathy on that front. My HIPG was paid really quickly - in fact, I think that the money was in my acount before I got the letter from them confirming they'd had my claim form.

Anyone got any suggestions what I can ask for for Christmas? DSis & SIL are asking for suggestions and my mind's gone totally blank...

MrsSnaplegs · 25/11/2010 16:54

sorry what's this xmas thhing you all keep mentioning Wink am I supposed to have fitted the planning in for that as well Grin I have done no xmas shopping at all - hows that for a confession Shock

OnlyWantsOne · 25/11/2010 17:32

Shock MrsS!! (smugly, I have done quite a bit, but all online and from amazon and the book people so not hard)

Im feeling very crampy and achey... wonder if tonight is the night Wink

crazykat · 25/11/2010 17:49

Just had 38 week midwife appointment, never made it to one before. I've got my next one at exactly 40 weeks and she said if I make it to that one they do a sweep five days later to see if it gets things moving. For some reason it's totally freaked me out that baby will be here so soon even though I'm getting impatient that she isn't here yet.

I got some rock salt from B&Q today as well just incase we get snow that settles, don't want to be trying to get down the path into the car in labour if it's slippery.

93pjb · 25/11/2010 18:29

MrsSl I was asked if I was all ready for Christmas this morning. Ummm no, first I've got to move house and then have a baby and then we'll worry about Christmas!! You are not the only one!

WhatWillSantaBring · 25/11/2010 18:30

My HiP grant letter came through today - 4 weeks after sending off the form.

Very cross with OWO for her scary post-labour thread.Wink I've been dreading the first few weeks just for the terror of being an actual parent, but now I learn that I have to be scared of pooing, peeing and feeling like I've been hit by a bus too. :(

MW appt today and LO is 3/5 engaged, which is good, but also back to back so despite being knackered and desparate to curl up on the armchair, I'm sitting on a bloody uncomfy dining room chair and wondering if the swiss ball might be more relaxing.

ML starts tomorrow but DH away all weekend (and out tonight)so worried about being lonely. Generally now feeling very sorry for myself :(

MrsSnaplegs · 25/11/2010 18:51

another good tip for putting on snow is cat litter - cheap and gives you some grip - can sweep it up when snow has gonen

GreenGeekGirl · 25/11/2010 19:33

Hello lovelies

Crikey things are still moving so fast around here. I just about caught on that Lavita has met her two (congratulations my dear!) but has anyone else popped early?

WLL, C&G & anyone else with a possible breech - My baby was breech until today but I've just come back from a successful ECV! Not only did it work but it really didn't hurt at all, uncomfortable but absolutely not painful. The doctor said it helped that I was very relaxed for it. So don't be nervous if it's suggested to you.

DF - Sorry for the very delayed response! I haven't been on the boards for such a long time so you probably wouldn't have known I was up the duff and I didn't know you were. What a happy coincidence :) I can't remember if we have actually met but have a feeling we did briefly at Glastonbury one year. Oddly I have met your husband though - he came to my flat with badgers & kitty once - and I've met your brother and SIL many times when we all lived in London.

notso - I now have two outfits and seriously can't wait until some of my clothes fit me again. Inexplicably (because I have been eating like a woman posessed) it seems only the bump that has grown, so hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back in my more glamorous attire. Having said that I am NEVER giving up my maternity jeans - they are the dogs proverbials! Grin

Very, very pleased about the successful ECV. Apparently the chances of it turning back again are quite low (less than 5%), so hopefully I'm all set for my home birth - woooo! Grin

ButtonAzure · 25/11/2010 19:37

Have been absolutly shattered today, is a very good job finished work yesterday.. don't think I would have made it in!
Did some good resting though. Got up at around 11!

WWSB hope you have a relax this evening, watch a lovely film; and don't think about post partum!

DuelingFanio · 25/11/2010 19:58

Hey GGG / Elvis we did meet I think at Rulla's flat once :)

DuelingFanio · 25/11/2010 19:59

Oh and B0B says hi Grin

maxpower · 25/11/2010 20:00

good news on the ecv GGG btw I remember feeling exatly the same about my mat jeans last time round Wink

wwsb anyone 8 months pg is entitled to feel sorry for themselves every now and again!

oh, I was going to post something else but I've forgotten what it was, damn baby brain!

DH was clearing up the video camera ready for the new arrival. We showed DD some footage of her from 2 years ago - I have never seen or heard her laugh so much in her life. In the end, I was crying with laughter at her - a lovely end to the day Smile

GreenGeekGirl · 25/11/2010 20:11

maxpower You know I've spent months telling people baby brain is just a myth only to be struck down with the most terrible absent-mindedness in the last few weeks. Mr GGG was quite unhappy about me leaving my keys in the door overnight last week Blush

DF Oh yeah, so we did - of course! That would be the stupid baby brain. Where in Wales are you? We should meet up in the new year maybe? Big hello to BOB too

Wholelottalove · 25/11/2010 21:50

Ooh thanks GGG for the encouragement. So glad you ECV was succesful and you can ahead with your HB.

MrsS :( it is not a nice situation to be in when you had everything planned. I'll have some mental readjustment to do if this one is breech and can't be moved. I am pretty sure I won't risk a vaginal breech delivery, but hate thought of c-section and recovery after.

I have not bought a single christmas present either! I know quite a few of the things we're getting so it is just a case of doing the Amazon order. The cooker we wanted for DD has just gone on offer in ELC too so I'm really glad we waited.

Must, must, must get DD's pressie from the baby though. 37 weeks tomorrow.

SlightlyTired · 25/11/2010 21:50

Notso can't believe you got stuck on the floor for so long.

I have given up on maternity jeans. For a number of weeks now I have either been in dresses/tunics/leggings or deeply unflattering trackies, because I cannot tolerate the feel of the waistband or the denim. Have you thought about a nice wrap dress that you could wear to your party if you go overdue, and also wear afterwards? Seraphine have a couple in their sale and their clothes are lovely.

GGG great news re ECV!

Had MW appointment today and baby in good position though less engaged than last time - I knew it - I can feel a bottom under my ribs again which is not particularly comfy.

I also asked the MW about the flu jab (thanks all for the input, by the way). She said that she wouldn't say it was something I should rush out and do right now - as I'm generally healthy and well she said her advice would be to wait till the baby is born and then see how I feel. I will give it some thought over the next couple of days.

Max if people ask me what I want for Christmas, I am asking for vouchers. I just know that I won't immediately fit back into my normal winter clothes and I will want to have a ceremonial burning of my limited maternity wardrobe, so I would really like to get a couple of things in the sales to tide me over. Smile

Wholelottalove · 25/11/2010 21:51

Gah, sorry, that was meant to be C&G not MrsS durrr.

CherylAnnTweedy · 26/11/2010 08:48

Quick post from me, feeling rubbish still but seems I was lucky adn just caught the tail end of it as although it was feeling like flu at the start it is just a very bad cold. I woke up earlier with a snail trail down my face, and laying in a puddle of snot. Nice!

I don't know what's going on with this pregnancy, felt nothing at all yesterday, quite a lot of contractions in the evening. I didn't wake until 4.30 this morning, usually that is my 2nd or 3rd time of waking in the night. I got out of bed absolutely fine, I usually have to lever myself up slowly into a standing position. Still felt no movement, and my belly was totally soft Confused. I got up this morning and looked down, my belly had virtually disappeared! Checked my knickers and bed in case waters had broken without me knowing but all was dry (knickers very surprisingly dry as there's usually a little something there). I measured my belly (round it, so not accurate, don't know how to measure size of uterus) and I have gone down 4cm since 10pm last night. DP looked at me this morning and said my belly has dropped massively and is now more beer belly like! I've felt twice before the baby drop, on Sunday and last Weds, and worked out that if it had the smae amount of time between each time it dropped then it would be today and I'm just wondering if the days before were the days I didn't feel any movements. Confused

I feel totally clueless, rubbish at being pregnant and a total wimp.

DuelingFanio · 26/11/2010 09:16

Aw Cheryl hope you are ok. DOn't know if it helps but my belly seems loads smaller too. I have had loads of movement the last day or so but I do worry too when there's less activity.

Maybe give the midwife a call? I am a wimp too and have never called the midwife about anything but if you are really worried then I think you should.

Does anyone know - does the bump just seem to get smaller the closer you get to 40 weeks?

japhrimel · 26/11/2010 10:20

Hope you're okay Cheryl. I'm noticing that on days I'm getting loads of BH, I'm not noticing movements so much until they stop and then baby kicks off. My bump is dropping too - very weird to be fitting into more clothes at this stage!
