Miffster LOL at Evian water - hope it was sorted, they are coming to fit my hand rails here today and will be here all day Hmm it's only taken them 4 weeks and I've only fallen twice in that time - clearly they don't want to rush to make this house safe although it does hint that they think this is a permanent allocation Hmm - have now got to take photos of how impractical the kitchen is because of it's small size - if they had listened before we moved in they would know all this Angry

laziness Hello welcome Grin we have not let family in on our name choice - we decided months ago Blush even DD gets told it is a surprise. Our view is it is our child and our choice - if they (family) don't like it - they can lump it Wink

DF I stopped posting on FB when I finished work, only 2 people have noticed and actively looked for me - says something about who I class as "friends" really Hmm MIL only rings once a week and have persuaded my mother no point in her pestering all the time - I will ring her when baby is born. She has shown elements of a personality disorder which means my pregnancy is all about her - "ooh I can't cope with all this worry about the pain you're in" type stuff and much worse - I didn't get round to returning her call one day so she phoned my DB in Canada and made him ring me Confused to make sure I was OK then tried to tell me when my DD was a baby she had hypothermia Hmm think I may have remebered that one ! She even managed to get my DD diagnosed with asthma when she was down there for a holiday a couple of years ago even though she has never shown any evidence of asthma - that was after I put up with 2 yrs of her telling me DD had cystic fibrosis Shock when I finally embarrased myself and said to GP - any signs of CF Blush and was obviously told no - mother just said oh ok - WTF - you've just spent 2 yrs making me feel as if I was being stupid and clearly missing a serious illness in DD and you just say oh OK, no apology or relief - she then changed at this point to the asthma thing Angry - don't forget I used to be a nurse so do have a reasonably good idea of what to look for ! Hence why this time she is being made to keep her distance Grin Sorry that wasn't meant to be a long expose on the delights of my family Hmm

WLL I have 1 stretchy dress I wear indoors and 1 pair jeans which just fit but only for short periods comfortably that I wear "out" - loads of tops still fit but not many jumpers. Wearing DH coats!

Miffster · 02/12/2010 06:28

I still can't sleep:( another awful night. Woken by dh returning from work at 1am, poor dh. Woke again 2.15 til 3.45am then 5.00 and been up since 6am, gah. Today is the day of no water til 8pm so going to have a bath now before it's turned off. Then read and reply to your latest postings ladies.

Oh yeah. It's snowed lots overnight in North London.

Morning MrsS and miffster, been awake since about 4 and not been able to sleep but can't be bothered getting up! We have about 3" of snow here now, 2 lots of deep (for this part of the world) snow in 1 year is unheard of. Arse, just had text as I'm writing this and my feelings were right the lazy tw@ caretaker isn't bothering to sweep the snow so schools closed. I live 100 yards from school so even more infuruating for me. I said a couple if days ago that we'd get snow one day, boys would be off school and I'd go into labour so watch this space.Angry unfortunately no longer have my escort which was better than any 4x4 in Feb (loads if them wheel spinning abd giving up going up the big hill near us while she made it all the way to the top) not sure how the citroen will cope in snow and ice.

My parents keep pgoning to check if I've had the baby, I have to keep telling them that I WILL let then know when it happens. Do now doesn't phone mil too early otherwise she gets very excited!

I've also not been using my fb of late. I let something really upset me a few weeks ago and I decided that when you lose sleep crying over Facebook its time to give it a rest. It wouldn't let me deactivate my account for some reason so massive 'friends' cull instead and haven't even checked it for about a month now. Very few people know anyway and the handful if people who matter will find out by text anyway. It's taken me til 30 but I've finally realised who my friends are and not to worry about the others.

We're also not discussing names with abyone else. It's our baby, so our choice. We have checked on names we need to avoid for certain reasons but none of them came into our radar anyway.

Miffster good luck with the water situation today.

And c&g good luck with the car, I can't believe they havebt given you a courtesy car . Fingers still crossed baby is behaving and gettin herself into the right position.

MrsSnaplegs · 02/12/2010 07:26

national 4x4 response network

If you are snowed in get in toucxh with these people now and make them aware of your situation, this will allow them time to plan who your nearest p0oint of contact is Grin

Some of the local groups will be working through your local emergency response teams

MrsSnaplegs · 02/12/2010 07:44

I have let the head honcho know I have put a link up Grin

CherylAnnTweedy · 02/12/2010 08:09

Hmm, just wondering how to co-ordinate 4x4 pick ups for the midwives now. I have total faith in DP to get us to QA (Medway being really steep and gets a lot more snow than we do here and him being a lorry driver a few inches of snow in a normal front wheel drive car is not even an issue for him) but I DON'T WANT TO GO TO HOSPITAL. I'm stamping my feet here. Grin

Well maybe from ds2's pov it's a good job they're not at school. He's not been right for about 3 weeks now, have taken him to gp 3 times in less than 2 weeks but they say he's fine. He's certainly not well today and is laying here with his head on my lap all snuffly, coughing his guts up, complaining of tummy ache and with really stinky breath. Sad

japhrimel · 02/12/2010 08:52

Oooh, thanks MrsSL. Didn't even realise such a thing existed - brilliant!

Cheryl - in my area the CMWs actually have their own Landrovers to get them to women giving birth.

MrsSnaplegs · 02/12/2010 08:58

cat The local midwives will be coordinated by local emergency response teams so I wouldn't worry there should be contingency plans in placealready but if concerned speak to your own mw first.

4x4 response are all volunteers and charity based and do a huge amount of unrecognised work if you end up being helped I am sure a donation wouldn't go amiss Grin

OnlyWantsOne · 02/12/2010 09:10

My MW is on holiday today til Monday but she's offering me a friendly service so its her I call when things get going - shes got all her stuff in her husbands land rover (although she did ask if there is some where that he can go and sit if its a quick labour, lol, I said he should walk the dog too that'd be handy)

Im now shitting myself, DP got to london, and trains back out are cancelled :( no baby today please

CheeseandGherkins · 02/12/2010 09:26

DH is trying to get hold of the hospital now, waiting on a curtesy car that should be here anytime and then heading in. Haven't felt the baby move since around dinner time last night, lots of prodding etc of her last night and tried ice, sweets, drinks everything and nothing. Didn't sleep much, tried again this morning and still not felt a thing. Really worried now, it's been so long and can't get her to move at all.

Will update when I can.

CheeseandGherkins · 02/12/2010 10:25

Still waiting on car which is still almost here apparently. By the time a cab would get here and get us in it wouldn't be worth it as car would be quicker. I have a doppler which we've tried and I can't pick up her heartbeat on it :( It's an old one and all the sounds of placenta and my heartbeat are quite faint so I'm hoping it's just that. God I'm terrifed.

kellestar · 02/12/2010 10:37

C&G it could mean she's moved position and her responses are in a different position as well. It is darned scary and I hope all is well and you get to Hosp soon

Wholelottalove · 02/12/2010 11:02

C&G try and stay calm, lots of steady breaths. I hope the car has got to you by now and you are in the hospital. Thinking of you, I am sure it will be ok xx

Lavitabellissima · 02/12/2010 11:08

c&g thinking of you, my friend gave birth on Sunday and has.said she'd not felt anything for hours previous to going in to labour. Often babies can be very still prior to labour x hope you get to hospital quick and they can reassure you x

Lavitabellissima · 02/12/2010 11:09

sorry bloody phone double posting!

LittleB · 02/12/2010 11:30

Mrs snaplegs your dd sounds like mine, her pjs are aged 7 and shes 5 1/2! Also v excited about the snow as we just had a dusting before but now we have about 3 inches (Somerset). I've been parking my car on the main rd rather than side rd as its gritted so I can get out fine, and my FIL and SIL both live nearby and have 4x4 if i do get stuck, but my mum is due to be my birth partner (DH isn't good in hospitals after a traumatic stay as a child - he'll be there but mainly in the waiting room) and my mums currently snowed in!
Sorry to hear about all those who can't sleep, I've been really tired so I'm sleeping ok. I've also moved into our spare room as me and dh kept waking each other up - he was coughing, and pg makes me snore really badly Blush, so we're both sleeping better now, although I miss the cuddles!
Cheryl, hope you ds feels better soon, its horrible when they're ill isn't it, dd had a horrid cough and earache last week and was off school.
owo hope your dh gets home soon.
C&G hope you are now in hospital and littleone is fine, let us know how it goes.

I'm actually enjoying these last few weeks depite feeling physically uncomfortable, I was so worried about ds being premature, its such a relief to have reached this stage that I can finally relax. My gp has also now given me pills to help with heartburn as I was getting through so much gaviscon and they are so much better and more pleasant than glugging gaviscon.

I'm far from bored though - there are loads of things I want to do around the house before ds arrives, and I have to keep resting too, as my SPD gets bad if I do too much. But I've been knitting while I rest, really enjoying it, I've done a lovely soft scarf for dd and I'm doing one for my mum now, keeps me busy while I'm resting as I'm not v good at doing nothing (unless I'm on mn!Wink)
We haven't decided on a name yet either!

laurenamium · 02/12/2010 11:50

Thinking of you c&g let us know how you are

Keep that baby in today miffster cross your legs!lol

KittyBump · 02/12/2010 12:06

Hi Everyone,

C&G I hope you are safely in hospital now and all is ok, thinking of you

LittleB I wish I could knit, your scarves sound lovely :) I know what you mean about the sleeping situation, every night DH says, shall I come back into our room now and I say no not tonight - I just sleep so much better on my own

owo your MW sounds ace! Fingers crossed no baby today - are all trains from London cancelled?

MrsSL that's such a nice thing to do, if I had a landrover I'd definitely volunteer to rescue stranded pregnant people :) Your Mum does sound a bit trying! Hope you can keep her at bay till you're ready

CAT Hope you get your home birth and that DS is feeling better. I agree with you about the names 'our baby our choice' now if DH and I could only agree Xmas Grin

Slightly thanks for info on UTI, my sample did look much clearer today (tmi!) I just called DH to ask if he'd dropped my wee off at the docs and luckily before I had chance to ask he told me I was on speaker phone as he'd just picked his boss up! He would have been very Blush if i'd started talking about my wee Xmas Smile

Miffster hello! hope you are getting some sleep now

Laziness big wave - hope you sort out the name. We haven't picked either and we won't do till we meet our baby, no matter how many times my mum asks!

Also - I am exclusively in Jogging bottoms and DH's jumpers, he moaned about me stretching them and I said, well you've stretched me so the least you can do is let me stretch your jumpers Xmas Grin

Miffster · 02/12/2010 12:40

c&g hope they can reassure you at hospital.
Have left flat for the first time in 3 days as going stir crazy. Found my fabulous Canadian snowboots and have gone for walk in the park to feed the water birds with oats. Now in park cafe having a latte and tuna panini. First coffee in 9 months!

Feel really serene and cheerful- although I hope Tiny doesn't come this week as dh is under cosh at work, what will be will be. I never thought I'd come this far. I am so pleased that I am here at the end of a normal healthy pregnancy and am welling up a bit because I feel so lucky and so blessed. It seems such a short time ago that I got the BFP and called DH at work. All through the first 20 weeks I expected something to go wrong. But it didn't.
And now here I am and here we all are, with the snow on the ground and all our little babies coming ...or already here.

Ladies, we are so lucky. Wishing us all joy as we come to the last part of the nine month long road.

Just to let you know jude william arrived in the world at 5am this morning. on his due date which is also his dads birthday - clever boy!

mild contrations started at 10pm y'day and battled to hopital at midnight as started bleeding. Jude then emerged 5 hrs later. Hoping to leave hospital in next hour but its all a bit delayed due to being pretty busy. Will do a more detailed report once home! But he is gorgeous, perfect and just like his brothers. He was 8lb 9...

KittyBump · 02/12/2010 13:02

Congratulations Chooster and welcome to the world Jude. Smile

C&G hopefully the hospital have been able to reassure you by now that all is ok, keep us posted as soon as you are able. I've had many days in the last few weeks where I haven't felt baby move, I've noted that it's always been days immediately before or after LO has moved, so fingers crossed she is just tired after a big wriggle. Smile

Kitty love the comebabck about stretched jumpers Grin

MrsSL & Japh, MIL said something similar to DP earlier about contingency plans for CMWs. I have suggestions myself if anything did happen and they said they couldn't get out to me. Hopefully won't need to but also remembered that mw yesterday was talking about the HB & also had been talking about the snow and asking about how excited the boys were with the snow, so I'm sure if there would be an issue she'd have brought it up then.

Today we've built a lego lorry, done a few jigsaw puzzles, ds1's homework, refereed an argument over Match Attax and downloaded a couple of films to watch this afternoon.

I've also not felt baby move today yet, so either getting ready to make an appearance or to move in some way or another.
