Hi all, updated the list with the weights of my two.

My tummy is a giant deflated beach ball and is soooo horrid with it's stretch marks and linea negra. Hey ho. Not much I can do about that considering what it was carrying about!

I had forgotten how little sleep you get in the first few months so excuse me if its all spelling mistakes. I have only had 5 hours in 2 days and feel like collapsing in a heap. In laws have gone home now leaving us alone until tomorrow pm when the maternity nanny starts. Thanks God I booked her as I know we would not ave coped at all well without her. It will be weird not having the in laws here. They have been great for looking after DS as he loves them and they dote onhim. It was really weird seeing Luke for the first time in 6 days on Wednesday. It's clearly the longest I have ever been without him and I thought my hornmones would make me to upset for him to visit in hopspital. He seems like a completely different little boy it's mad! He didn;t liike it yesterday when I had to feed the babies in front of him and stomped off and was a bit naughty to get attention. Nothing too bad yet though. The breastfeeding is going slowly down hill dso I am glad I have a mage pro BF nanny coming. I am almost at the point of giving up but can express almost one feed at a sitting now so will continue with that (God bless my double pump!). The babies are gorgeous - really cute l;ike little kittens!

Anyway - self centred post but hi to all and welcome newbies!

tabbycat76 · 14/01/2011 19:15

Amberc self centred is fine - we'll all get to that point ourselves before long! And from that list I can't help but notice IT'S ME NEXT!!!!!!!! Bloody hell!!!!!!

Had my consultant appt today with the Registrar - I love it. They book you in to see the Consultant and you send up seeing their junior! What's the point of that eh? Anyway I was all ready to go in all guns blazing to get my delivery date brought sooner and she said she'd deliver me at 37 weeks!!!!! Whohooooo! And then had a note passed to her saying they don't section before 38 weeks so gave me a new date which unfortunately fell on a weekend. No lists run on a w/e so I asked for the Friday before so it's been like a compromise, I'm getting delivered a few days before 38 weeks! Can not tell you how relieved I feel. It's weird because until you get given a date you have nothing to count down to tho obviously you know you'll deliver at some point. It makes it much more real and something to aim for.

I've slept terribly lately for comfort reasons plus with my husband snoring so I'll be glad to have them delieverd. I know I'll get less sleep but I'll have help at home (inlaws, mum and hubby) so I should find SOME time to catch up abit.

My husband bless him thinks I'll deliver sooner than my date. I've had tightenings lately and he's convinced it's going to lead to something, esp as the midwife when we went in a few nights ago for a monitoring (reduced movements) kept saying "ah yes you are contracting aren't you!!!". Felt like saying, no, they're tightenings! Contractions would have me climb the walls stoopid!!! Anyway, you never know so we'll see!

Right enough about me! Keep going with the co co butter girls - I expect stretch marks are alot to do with genetics but every bit helps I think. I've got through loads of bottles of the stuff, it's so in my routine I'll miss it when I deliver!

Do we have postnatal twins thread set up yet?!??

holidays2010 · 14/01/2011 19:36

MorningsMadness · 15/01/2011 12:37

Hello everyone, mind if I join you? After yet another IVF (2 MCs last year) I am now 9wks with 2 Non-Id and thrilled and terrified!
I have a 3 1/2 yr old DD and am already in mat trousers, oh the shame. EDD 18/8/11 and scan on Thursday showed two heartbeats.
Any advice on keeping calm, managing a hyper little one while feeling sick and exhausted and not getting too far ahead of myself in planning and imagining? It has been brilliant reading all the way through the 20 pages so far!

hippy3 · 15/01/2011 17:12

cerubina Honestly I have no idea when my due date is (it changes with the consultant scanning me!)>...I know its between the 26th and 28th of April, but I dont know how relevant it is anyway as I am prob only going to go to 36 weeks anyway !

On a different note, I went to my first antenatal club meeting thing today and it was BRILLIANT !! its run by my local twins club.... and I met some really lovely expectant mums to be. And got loads of tips.,... my DP got a talk from a twin dad as well. So it was good for him..... Smile am shattered today, am planning on going to bed really early. hope everyone else is having a great weekend... !

MissyMolly · 15/01/2011 18:55

Hi everyone, another newbie here Smile hope it's ok to join this thread.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant with boy and girl twins. I've been finding pregnancy quite difficult so far with sickness and rib pain, which has been very painful. Will be worth it in the end though!

jesse4ever · 15/01/2011 19:08

Hi MissyMolly and MorningMadness.

MissyMolly - I'm 21 weeks too, when's your due date?

MorningMadness - no idea how to entertain hyper little ones. My DS is 15 months and I'm knackered 90% of the time. Doctor has told me I'm not allowed to walk far which is proving tricky.

MissyMolly · 15/01/2011 19:14

Hi Snowfalls, I'm 29th May, just seen you are too! My consultant has said they don't let twins go past 37 weeks at my hospital though, is this similar for you?

MissyMolly · 15/01/2011 19:28

Hi Jesse4ever, I know it's usual for twins to be different sizes, I's sure that if they were concerned about the size of the sacs they would have mentioned something so try not to worry there.

With regards to showing, I think I started to show fairly quickly and felt 'different' early on as you have (these are my first though so nothing to compare to!) However I think I would have have shown even more if I hadn't had such severe sickness where I struggled to keep anything down

MorningsMadness · 15/01/2011 20:06

Hi Snowfalls - no walking with a 15 month old??? Good luck!

Snowfalls108 · 15/01/2011 22:48

MissMolly - as mine are identical and sharing a placenta I've been given a provisional cs date of 3rd May!! Eeek. So only 15 and a bit weeks left. Terrifying.

MorningMadness - and of course not meant to be lifting anything heavy either!!

Has anyone joined TAMBA or a local twins club? I have just booked into NCT classes, but my MIL (also being a mother of twins Wink ) says that local twins club is a great thing to do. Any experiences?

We went to a TAMBA preparing for parenthood [of multiples] seminar this week...TBH I found rather scary (!), but there were some useful tips. At only 18 weeks I felt quite small compared to the other ladies there! Although I have just gone over the 1 stone mark from my pre-pg weight....

Hope everyone is well! kitty

restingkitty · 16/01/2011 12:05

ps Jesse sorry for your loss, and congratulations. Re showing: I was starting to find my clothes tight at about 10-11 weeks, def showing by 14-15 weeks. I found dark clothes really helped for hiding things Smile

propercrimbo · 16/01/2011 16:19

Hi all, mind if I join,
I am expecting twins in July, having a surprise.
Been very sick so far, hoping to comeout the other side of that pretty soon, I haven't had chance to read this entire thread but restingkitty I would be interested too if anyone has joined TAMBA and is it worth it?
I am already massive at 14 weeks and well and truly in maternity gear, all bump though so far, my bum hasn't started the expansion process yet!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 17/01/2011 12:36

More newbies lovely! Welcome propercrimbo missmolly & morningmadness

It's worth joining TAMBA for the discounts. I have already got my moneys worth back in discount. You will also get updates/emails about local twins things/courses (some of which are free). I wasn't overly impressed with their buggy guide though. You can do it monthly so it's only £2 something. You will be able to find your local twins club through TAMBA. I went to mine last week for the first time with 2 other expectant twin mums whom I met through a local free TAMBA course. Everyone was very welcoming (ooing over our bumps which was nice and saying how lovely and blessed we are Grin ) and happy to tell us their experience and tips!

Jesse I am glad your booking in went ok, it is good that you are seeing a consultant regarding your plan of care and he specialises in late loss. What hospital are you under? If you want to ask any questions as I have had a fairly indepth plan of care, please feel free to PM me x

How you doing Tabby? Still hanging in there?

Did labour ward/NICU tour on Saturday and cots are now up so things are starting to feel VERY real. A maximum of 6 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

holidays2010 · 17/01/2011 12:50

Hi girls, welcome to newbies!

My bump is feeling lower than usual these past few days. Have a feeling they could be early...hope not - havent even bought the cot yet and DP is doing nothing to help me!
I want to get buying so I can feel more at ease and prepared but trying to get him to even engage in a conversation about where to buy the cot (+ other baby stuff) is difficult enough!
I think I'll just buy the stuff myself and tell him to assemble it when it arrives.

Hope you other ladies have more support from your partners.
My DD (who is nearly 5) already knows she'll have to help me because her father isnt 'hands on'. I hope she also remembers not to land herself a useless husband like her father when she's older too!

Well hope you're all well.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 17/01/2011 15:32

Oh hols I am sorry you are not getting any support from you OH. Have you been on any antenatal classes for multiples? This should gee him up. He really should be helping you hun especially with DD or you are going to do yourself a mischief. Is your bag packed for you and the babes? x

MissyMolly · 17/01/2011 17:55

That sounds really tough holidays... was he like this when you were pregnant with your dd? Do you think it will get better when the babies are born?

Just wondered when people have taken/are planning to take maternity leave? I'm only 21 weeks and already finding it hard with being in pain with my ribs and severe sickness which keeps coming and going every few days- think work are already fed up of me! Blush

Snowfalls108 · 17/01/2011 18:37

I'm finishing at 28 weeks, although using 4 weeks of holiday so my actual maternity leave doesn't start till 32 weeks. I can't wait! Although I only work part time I'm finding it difficult juggling looking after DS, working and pregnancy.
Had a scan today, another one booked for tomorrow, all well with both babies.
