Hi Brassica, congratulations and welcome. It must be a shock to find out it's twins when you had no inkling! But most of us quickly come to think it's exciting and there's no denying that you will be a minor local celebrity - in my experience people are fascinated by twins so you will get lots of attention
.
There's apparently about a 50-50 chance of a CS for delivery, a lot depends on how your first twin presents at the crucial time (if breech then that's a certainty). There may also be other reasons for a CS such as position of the placenta. Don't worry, there's tons of time to get to grips with all that.
How are you feeling - have you been very sick, are you exhausted? We are all at various stages of pregnancy on here so should be able to tackle most questions - fire away.
Swazzee you have had a really busy time by the sounds of it but it's good you now feel a bit more settled and are finding your feet with a routine. How much down time do you reckon you get with twins - are they more or less a crying tag team or are there times of day when all goes quiet? This is stuff I'm beginning to think about now.
Victoria I would imagine moving house with twins is not going to be easy and nor would managing in a one-bed place be once they're here so probably worth getting on with sooner rather than later if you think you might be able to find a place to rent quite quickly. Best to get yourself settled before you get too big and stressed??
thingamajig you paint a lovely picture I must say...the other day it struck me how many involuntary noises I am making already! Lots of grunts and sighs as I stand up/sit down/put on socks, belches etc...my poor husband. He seems not to be too grossed out but it's fair to say there's not much ladylike behaviour in our house at the moment. I'm with you on being a horlicks fan too!
We had our first ante-natal class (NCT) last night and the other couples seem like a nice bunch so I am hopeful. Only trouble is we are miles behind them, even taking twins into account - no one there was expecting any later than mid-March and most of them were due in Feb (I am only 24 weeks so official EDD is end of April). I hope we won't get too left behind on delivery dates and miss out. The class was interesting though - they showed a diagram of a woman's body at 36 weeks pg and OMG - all I can say is no wonder they have no bladder control!
