Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SusiS · 01/10/2005 22:37

arrrrrgh i wish!!!
not a twinge

am with you!
just want it to be over with and back to normal!!!

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 08:27

Well according to the stats thread - ruthiemum, yokefleet, MP and Susi should be the next...haven't heard from ruthiemum though, she's awol!

I reckon... (Yokefleet's been quiet maybe she's already popped!) Susi and MP, then Trice and Bonnie, both on the same days as each other lol

I had another dream (hopefully brought on by delirious cold stuff rather than impending doom lol) ... A midwife turned up at my door with a big backpack and said 'Oh so I hear you're going into labour early, here's your homebirth kit then, byee!' It felt so real, me standing there looking horrified on my doorstep in my nighty lol

I don't want the vagina exploding feeling!! 37 weeks today anyway, aaages to go

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 08:51

I bet I said one of the one's who's already had their baby then didn't I if I did I'm sorry I'm feeling very fuzzyheaded!

grannygoose · 02/10/2005 08:52

I had my "Feeding Baby" (read breastfeeding) class last week and thought that the midwife painted far too rosy a picture of the whole thing. I've never done it before, but it seemed to me that leaving out everything about sore, cracked and bleeding nipples, mastitis, engorgement, leaking boobs etc was a bit unfair. At least the midwife the week before who did the labour class was honest, and said if dribbly pink stuff came out of baby's mouth, he/she wasnt bleeding from inside, it was just blood from your boobs!!!

grannygoose · 02/10/2005 08:53

Oh and I also got a row for just mentioning Gina Ford's contented little baby book!

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 08:54

Oh god I'm terrified all over again, I was just getting scared about the labour...but then there's all the stuff afterwards too! And I should know about all this, have blissfully put it out of my mind.. GG, it's hard but I bet you'll get the hang of breastfeeding , just got to remember not to be scared to ask anyone and everyone for help if you need it!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 02/10/2005 09:06

We are all still hanging on in there arent we!

Anyone else at the stage where they just cant be bothered anymore and is going along the lines of it'll happen when it happens?!

Ive got 2 weeks and 5 days left before hospitals EDD, and 5 days according to mine!

We shall see..... but someone has GOT to pop soon!!!

Jockey · 02/10/2005 09:38

Welcome grannygoose!

Thanks for your good wishes re: dh (MEN!). Not sure when he'll be out, hopefully midweek. Praying that I don't go into labour early (highly unlikely as I'm usually 41+1 making it 20 Oct). If they don't let him out, I might cry a bit in front of the consultant!

BBB that must've been a nightmare for you with your dh - hoping he's fit and well for you this time. You deserve it!

Mawbroon - sorry to hear about the redundancies -that is just incredible timing isn't it? Hope something works out soon.

Fastasleep - I'm right with you on the cold thing. My head's gonna explode any minute & I can only hear in one ear. As you once put it, feel like telling every one to p&&& off and go to bed. I'm also worried about the stuff afterwards as well - it makes no difference that I've had 3! I am pretty petrified now and OMG it is OCTOBER!

Perhaps we'll be quiet for a while then suddenly have a flurry of births .

mawbroon · 02/10/2005 09:47

Elf - thanks a million.

DH and I were round at SILs for dinner last night. DH agreed yonks ago that come October he has to be in a fit state to drive at all times just in case, so true to his word he had one shandy last night Small price to pay when I have not had a drop for the last 32 weeks! Not that I'm counting or anything.....

grannygoose · 02/10/2005 10:18

Funny that Mawbroon - my DP said the same thing about being in a fit state to drive come October. By my reckoning, yesterday was the 1st Oct and I was driving again!

Thanks for all the welcome messages.

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 13:56

Jockey I'm glad the end is in sight for your hubby and his hospital stay, I'm sure you won't pop early lol as long as you don't tempt fate by 'telling' the bump not to make an appearance, that's always asking for it! Sorry to hear that you feel poo too! I managed to get rid of DH and DS woohooooo even if they will end up sitting in a rainy beer garden lol...

JM I'm glad you haven't turned into a scary pineapple gobbling nymphomaniac, it's very nice to have you being normal you it was a close call for a second there! If I didn't have this cold though I bet I'd be that way again

marinda · 02/10/2005 18:13

Hi eveyone - not posted for ages as had a dreadful pregnancy and did not wish to bore everyone with details. Was due on 30th Sept by scan but 3rd Oct by LMP. Nothing yet - planned a homwbirth - but very scared of induction !!! Anyone else due around these dates ???

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 18:16

The people I listed before - ruithiemum, yokefleet, morningpaper, susis.. they're al due around the same time as you I think Marinda..

Sorry you've had a tough time! We wouldn't have minded you moaning to us, we've been moaning horribly about tiny little things! Well, I have!

I hope you don't need an induction, I had one last time though and to be honest it was quite good as far as birthing goes. I know how it is to have your heart set on a homebirth though!

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 18:16

I cannot type and eat at the same time! Ever!

morningpaper · 02/10/2005 18:59

Mawbroon I thought you said your DH had a hand shandy last night - must read more carefully...

Well my official due date is nearly over - went to church, mowed the lawn, pruned some bushes, took DD to the park, walked into town to 'discuss' the benefits of the various models of Dora the Explorer dolls with her in Woolworth's, took her for a hot chocolate and plate of muffins in Costa Coffee - then went swimming and lounged around in the jacuzzi showing off whenever people said "When are you due?" and I said "Oh today!"

DD is getting quite stressed I think - she is 3 this week and it's all getting a bit much for her. She's been very 'trying' to say the least and my patience is VERY short. I think she will feel better when the baby is here - this waiting game is hard for her to understand.

SusiS · 02/10/2005 19:07

still with big bump
am officially due TODAY!!!!

will have to go to hospital tomorrow to discus the next steps. they don't want to induce me so guess there is only ONE option really!!!!

hope all your ill partners are jumping around soon - can't have them lie in bed while you are popping

oh and welcome grannygoose!!!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 02/10/2005 20:04

COME ON GIRLS! Get those babies moving!!!

Mine is staying put until Jess gets over her latest teething pains.... PLEASE! She's been a bit of a monkey, but her mouth is so sore bless her cotton socks!

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 20:15

Aww well at least your due dates went nicely, nothing happened! (Not over yet though ominous voice )

DS is being a bit evil too, he's teething and he's got this nasty cold..poor boo.. hope everyone's feeling well and yep those DH's need to get outta bed before we take over the whole mattress with our little uns

mawbroon · 02/10/2005 20:50

FA - I can only guess what you mean by a hand shandy and judging by the blush icon I think I am guessing along the right lines!! Teee heee

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 02/10/2005 20:53

Am i the only one who will either be giving birth on the kitchen floor or calling an ambulance?!

Im the only driver, so Im up the creek without a paddle unless a nice paramedic wants to get me to hospital.... either that or i get a taxi and risk giving birth in the back of a cab!!!

morningpaper · 02/10/2005 21:00

Aaah just call an ambulance - they have to take you! You'll be okay. I might venture to the hospital myself (have decided on ambulance approach) if things happen in the night and we can't get my mum over fast enough. Have to wait and see.

Moomin · 02/10/2005 21:02

hi all. still here in my cell like the count of monte cristo.

went out yesterday but came back feeling even worse. dh was away so went to pil's so i could spend time with dd. on the way back to hosp, fil nearly crashed the car by pulling out too soon at a roundabout. dd was upset which started me off and i couldnt stop crying. now i reckon theyve put me on suicide watch or something because every midwife that comes in looks at me in pity and says "how ARE you today, moomin?" feel like a right wally now.

todays been better anyway, have seen lots of dd and dh. just 1 more week to go...

hope you are all ok.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 02/10/2005 21:05

glad to hear from you moomin - chin up - not long now.

I wish i had someone asking me how i was feeling daily..... DH's first words to me this morning "oh yeah, there's a DVD on the stairs" as i slipped on it and fell on my arse!

NOT what i needed at 8am!!!

marinda · 03/10/2005 00:25

Think might have started - 5 mins apart and painful - let you know !!

triceratops · 03/10/2005 08:42

Good luck Marinda - sounds promising. I was sorry to hear about your horrid pregnancy. You deserve to have a good birth after that. I have my fingers crossed for you.
