Good news - the monitoring went really well and the OB is really happy with him! He just thinks he is really active. So relieved. Haven't had time to catch up with everyone but hope you've all had a great day! Grin

wigglesrock · 04/11/2010 22:59

Brillant jenny, was staying up hoping you'd post. Really happy for you, seriously made my evening, night night x

bonfireofthejennyps · 04/11/2010 23:05

Thanks wiggles that was lovely of you! sleep well and comfortably! xxx

ZeroMinusZero · 05/11/2010 06:54

Very good news jenny you must be so :) about that

WanderingSheep · 05/11/2010 06:54

Oh Jenny that's really fabulous news! I was hoping that would be the case Smile.

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! Grin

suzym1984 · 05/11/2010 07:03

ledkr yeah ive seen it folded with the seat on both ways and have had a go at folding it myself! That was the BIG benefit for me as others have been very hard to fold but this is a doddle, even for a weakling like me! and it just pop back up by lifting a little catch, so very very easy.

Obv it is a little bit bigger when folded with the seat on, but still relatively small and light. It is one of the lightest on the market apparently. I am 5ft 3 and quite skinny (well i was!) and I coud pick it up no bother! Hope that helps Grin

Angel what happened about your pay at work? Hope you got it sorted Smile. My work are still being awkward and still no risk assessment! arrrr

Great news for jenny

Have a lovely day everyone

angels1 · 05/11/2010 08:33

jenny great - so pleased - thought about you when I woke up this morning and hoped I'd see good news on here for you.

zero my school might be different to yours as I work in private school but our school sick pay policy is a month full pay a month half pay then SSP. My school have been very accomodating and so far I've been on full pay all the time (which is more than they had to do) but I'm now on SSP which is barely anything (especially as I'm part time so only get a proportion of SSP)

I'm now graually stocking up on bits for hospital bag/baby but haven't found any flip flops to buy for the showers - must be the wrong time of year! I also won an ebay auction last night for a bundle of 0 - 3 month clothes for 99p and am collecting this morning (seller lives locally) so will let you know how much i get for this bargain price Grin

Jenny sooo happy for you, great news, now celebrate somehow, you deserve it after such a week.

Thanks wriggles for the lina nigra info, I wonder if it is a path indicator: 'you are here, you must get to here' for the baby...Grin, like a landing strip.
Dark nipples was my first sign of being preg.

35 weeks! gosh, am i being silly wanting to work until week 37? also wasn't going to buy anything until Jan.

Well, have a great day everyone.

knittakid · 05/11/2010 10:17

Was browsing threads and saw this one: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1071984-Your-best-tips-for-the-first-week-with-new-baby?pg=8
thought some of us first-timers would like to read it.

GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave · 05/11/2010 10:19

I also have never had a linea nigra, but also have v pale Irish (well, mostly Irish) skin so that's probably why.

I think state schools do generally have much more generous sick leave policies.

40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 10:27

Morning everyone

Jenny thats brilliant news you must be so relieved, nice one Grin

earlygrey I meant to say earlier that I cant believe your MW! Great you have a doula. Maybe the MW is being overcautious about the tear, which is understandable, but why should it be a problem? I tore at home and they were going to stitch me but one of the MWs said dont bother, its so minor it will repair itself; but still, they have a suture kit with them....and the whole thing about the Fire Brigade!!? Shock My MWs didnt leave any G&A at my house, just everything else they needed, but surely its more dangerous for them bringing it in THEIR CAR (heard of the combustion engine, dear MW?) than leaving it in your house?? And if they do have to inform them then so be it. I would call her bluff and offer to call them for her!

Also, worryingly, I had my first 'snweeze' yesterday....I am pretty sure you can all work out what I mean. Am aghast and have been doing pelvic floors in earnest ever since Blush

40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 10:31

Oooh and knitta I worked to 37/38 weeks on both counts, and went overdue by 14 days and 7 days so was glad of it tbh, as I had longer at the other end, iykwim. Although have two friends who went into labour the day they went on mat leave!! Literally one of them got home from work and thought she had pissed herself her waters had broken and voila, enter Baby!

The other thing is, AFAIK, if you use any holiday but go into labour during this time you lose your holiday and go straight onto mat leave (in case you were going to use 1 or 2 weeks holiday before commences official ML)

40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 10:31

Oooh darn it my hyphens didnt work!

40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 10:36

GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave · 05/11/2010 10:37

Ooh, yes, good news Jenny!

I finished around 36 weeks with DS (used about eight days' leave and then into ML), around 34 weeks with DD (mostly ML, but DH was out of the country and I was trying to juggle the commute plus 3yo DS plus being the size of a whale and eventually decided that Enough Is Enough), and will be finishing at around 29 weeks (!) with this one (we have flexible benefits, so I opt to be paid slightly less and get 7 weeks' leave a year; I have about three weeks to take by the end of December, then next year's seven weeks to take from the start of January, and that should leave me a week or two of actual ML before the baby arrives). I am very much looking forward to it, I have to say; would love to be finishing now, really...

angels1 · 05/11/2010 10:44

Just thought I'd share with you my excitement at my baby clothes ebay orders arriving - got a massive box full of lovely babygrows/hats/tops/trousers/dresses/cardis all of which are in very good condition (some look barely worn) and another bag I collected locally full of similar bits of not quite so perfect condition but still very useable/not stained or anything nasty. Am very sxcited and now feel fully equiped to cloth an army of baby girls who are up to 3 months, and all of which cost me £10 including postage Grin . I'm now off to look at 3 - 6 month bargains and wash said purchased items.

OP posts:
40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 10:50

After saying that I finish on 30 November, so only a few weeks to go, but thats because I am on contract and was always going to finish then, regardless of how far along I was

GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave · 05/11/2010 11:58

We had a Pliko P3 Pramette for DS and it was good (although hardly used it as he Did Not Like prams or buggies in general and made his disapproval clear). SIL has it now for her new baby (who is now thoughtlessly three days overdue).

Baby clothes are so cheap on eBay -- you can pick up hideously expensive designer items for 99p in many cases. The unfortunate side-effect of this was that by the time DD was 3 months old I could have clothed girl triplets with no problems (although this will be handy now that SIL and I will have baby girls within four months of each other). I am having to resist even looking on eBay at the moment or I know I would get an itchy ordering finger, and I do not need to clothe quadruplets any time soon...

NeedToSleepZZZ · 05/11/2010 12:07

just checking in, busy time ahead with the move...

fantastic news jenny, so pleased for you! Smile

40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 12:08

I will have to have a look. I wanted to buy something white/unisex but the choice in the shops was rubbish as I guess most people know what theyre having these days

knittaguy · 05/11/2010 12:49

Thanks 40, hopefully everything will go alright and I'll be able to work till quite late.

angels that sounds fab. I'm def. looking for some now!

ZeroMinusZero · 05/11/2010 12:53

I hate you angels it had never occurred to me to look for baby clothes on ebay... and now I can't stop! I'm going to spend my life savings on 50p dresses for the LO if I carry on like this Wink

JustOneMorePlease · 05/11/2010 13:08

40 laughed at you snweezing!
Whenever I am about to sneeze I have to stop what I'm doing and concentrate. Ds2 who is nearly 6 asked me the last time "did you wet your pants this time Mummy?" little monkey.
I've had it if I need a sneeze when I'm eating! Far to many things for my four preg mangled brain to do at once!! Oh and i'm a physio- squeeze and holding as I type!!!

40FawkesyWeeks · 05/11/2010 14:11

Thanks Justonemore , its nice that I am not alone. You are my hero, always wanted four but dont think I can manage it. DS1 is 3, DS2 is 2 so I think this will be my last but KUDOS on number4!

PDR · 05/11/2010 15:49

Afternoon!

Just had a delivery from M&P! Bought quite a few things when they were doing 10% off everything last week...

Just love the tiny babygros! I had forgotten how small newborns are! Now have to wash everything but think I will leave that for now as our cat loves sitting on freshly laundered clothes and I'll end up having to wash them again!

Anyone off to a fireworks display tonight? We were going to one but my SPD is so bad I know I'd be in too much pain standing up. Hopefully catch some out of the window instead!
