Just a new thread as I noticed we are near the limit (again)!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

well sbf I always use cut up parchment paper instead of waxed paper when I make jam and nothing bad seems to have happened yet Wink. I'm pretty sure it does the same thing, but am willing to be proved wrong if anyone knows otherwise.

Zero, the Mothercare Vesta looks good. Have you tried it? Is everything included for the price? Do you have to take the seat off to fold it up?

I want something that's parent facing, suitable from newborn (obv), can fold up smallish (teeny tiny house), something that will be ok on public transport (can't drive) and something that the wheels won't wear down really quickly as I walk a lot. I once got DD a cheapy mothercare pushchair when she was 9 months old (around March time) and by Christmas there were no wheels left. They'd ground down to the metal Shock

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 17:14

Just had a look at Mothercare and it says that the chassis is £185 and you have to buy the seat unit separately - is that right or am I looking wrong?

With the Graco Cleo everything was included for £144 but the review said that it's a bugger to fold and it's difficult to get on a bus which is a must for me.

Hi ladies!

Havent posted for a while, but I have been keeping up with the thread! Lovely to hear all the good scan news, and congrats to everyone who knows the babies sex!

I have soo busy lately and having a bit of a rubbish time. Still feeling very sick and getting awful rib pain. Work are being very difficult and I have considered trying to get signed off. Just really struggling at the minute Sad

Sorry for such a depressing post, will try to keep up more with the thread and be more optimistic when I do post!

ZeroMinusZero · 03/11/2010 18:14

No ours is definately 180 and that includes a sort of baby car seat thing that slots in, but does have to be removed to fold. It doesn't fold so that's its absolutely tiny but it does fold enough. Definately worth checking out at least, I would say. From what I've seen it does seem to be good for its price range. Will link to it in a bit so that we know were talking about the same one. don't actually have it yet because its going to be a present from fil.

ZeroMinusZero · 03/11/2010 18:26

Its the first result that comes up when you google mothercare vesta

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 18:29

Oh well that sounds good Smile! DD is spending some time with my sister on Saturday so may well have to persuade DH into a bit of pram shopping while we're child free!

Suzym don't worry about the depressing post! Sorry you've been having a crap time of it Sad. Hope things start to get better soon! It must be so hard to enjoy pregnancy and look forward to the baby when you're feeling so crap.

suzym1984 · 03/11/2010 18:38

Thanks Grin

Yeah it is hard to be feeling so down, especially when we are so chuffed about this baby. Gonna just brave it out at work, but will see GP if I get worse.

Is anyone else getting bad rib pain? It hurts when I breathe and is starting to scare me!

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 18:44

Ah! I was looking at the wrong thing. It looks good but it's not parent facing without the car seat and we've already got a car seat.

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 18:46

What is your job? Don't make yourself do too much! Smile

suzym1984 · 03/11/2010 19:02

I am a primary teacher, so pretty busy! Get no breaks and rarely get a lunch break even, which isnt helping my sickness! also have been feeling dizzy at work and my ribs are terrible! feel bad being so 'poor me'!

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 19:11

It's hard being a teacher though! I'm not one (how many teachers are there on this thread?) but my sister is, a lot of her friend's are (so know quite a few) and my next door neighbour is one. You're on your feet all day with no break plus having to work after school hours doing planning, marking etc, not to mention stress of Ofsted inspections! My sister's having a right crap time at the moment - she's not pregnant though.

suzym1984 · 03/11/2010 19:12

yep, makes me so mad when ppl say "ooh lucky you, start at 9 and finish at 32" hahaha! So many late nights, early starts and it is very physical, especially with the little ones.I asked for advice on the Pregnancy forum re getting signed off from work, but I am still chickening out Blush

suzym1984 · 03/11/2010 19:13

that meant to say "finish at 3" !!!!

40FawkesyWeeks · 03/11/2010 19:57

Evening

Sorry for those of you suffering, have just had a quick read through. Was tadjens monitoring scan today? I wonder how she got on. Fingers crossed.

Did my spin class this morning but now can't stay out of the sweetie jar. We bought loads of fun size choc for Halloween and didn't get ONE trick or treater so now I have temptation every time I go in the kitchen! Grrr no will power.

Ds2 poorly again! Hoping this isn't another hospital visit, poor love knows most of the nurses at our local hospital!

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 20:32

Oh your poor DS2!

We had loads of trick or treaters! They came early this year, I guess because it was Sunday, and I struggled to eat my tea! Was fab though! Took DD out with some friend's little girls and loads of houses around here had really got into the spirit with decorations and pumpkins and dressing up!

One house had taped their car up with "haunted house do not enter" tape, as if it was a crime scene and there was a severed limb under the car! They had put gravestones by their door with skulls etc and there was a witch manequin stood at the door. When we went to knock they had a smoke machine that blew out loads of fog and the owner of the house came out dressed as a witch to give sweets! It was ace! They'd gone to such an effort! Must have cost them a fortune.

DD loved Trick or Treating and we came back with her body weight in sweets. The downside is that she keeps asking for them so we've put them away out of her reach. I'm so tempted to eat them!

WanderingSheep · 03/11/2010 20:35

It's tadjenny's monitoring tomorrow 40. I think she's in America iirc so I don't know what time it will be there. Fingers, toes and everything crossed that all will be ok!

40FawkesyWeeks · 03/11/2010 21:01

I would reply but am rummaging through the millkyways and mini mars bars.....'scuse me Grin

ZeroMinusZero · 03/11/2010 21:43

Well, we'd better leave you to your chocolates, 40weeks Wink for some reason the only chocolate I'm into right now is Terrys chocolate oranges... although I've certainly been getting through more than my fair share of them Blush

40FawkesyWeeks · 03/11/2010 21:49

Oooh yeah chocolate orange, scoff scoff

linz17xxx · 03/11/2010 21:51

Hi everyone I haven't been on for a while. I'm just worn out after long days at work and suffering from terrible heartburn and rib pains. Got my 28 week growth scan on 15th nov. Its a good chance to see baby again :). Hope everyone is well and blooming :)

NeedToSleepZZZ · 03/11/2010 22:59

Hi suzym, I've had rib pain on and off for a few weeks now, really sharp pain that makes breathing in difficult. I've forgotten who told me about it (really sorry!) but the best advice I had was to lift your arms above your head and stretch it out. It's really helped in the middle of the night but OH thinks I'm a bit weird, nothing new there Wink

wandering there are lots of teachers on MN altogether I think but we do seem to be having our babies in February, very strange. What was happening in May other than the election?

bonfireofthejennyps · 04/11/2010 00:08

Yes, monitoring is tomorrow at 1pm our time (8pm UK time) so I will update as soon as I can. Love all the talk of new prams - want to convince dh to splash out as it is our last. Grin

ZeroMinusZero · 04/11/2010 06:48

Sorry to hear about your pains linz but at least you have your scan to look forward to, hope all goes well with that.

Yes, that's a good point needtosleep what was happening in May? What's the story of everyone's conception? Mine is that me and DH had been TTC since about Christmas. As we're young and niave, we were a bit surprised it was taking so long by the fourth month and I was getting worried that there might be something wrong. But just when we got disillusioned I got my BFP. I was very paranoid about having a mc because my Mum had problems in that area, but touchwood it's all gone smoothly so far (except for the pains, obviously)

suzym1984 · 04/11/2010 07:03

Thanks for the advice needtosleep Grin

It does seem that May was a busy month for conception! We had only been trying since april so were very shocked when I got my BFP! we were expecting it to take a year! But very happy, and I am sooooo impatient! Just wish we didnt have to wait so long to meet him/her

I'm off to work now, wish me luck that I dont puke on any kids!

Have a lovely day ladies Smile
