loomer · 15/09/2005 13:49

Mak · 15/09/2005 18:48

Due 5th January. Aged 36. Already have DD 5 years old. Live in Nottingham. Had a CS last time hoping for VBAC this time (in any way possible - standing on my head, water - whatever)

Rachey1969 · 16/09/2005 09:55

Due 4th January, age 36, live in Swansea (emigrated from Sussex) have ds1 11 (9lb 5 forceps), ds2 9 (8lb 12 induced 'face to pubes'), dd 7 (9lb 2) face presentation - all pretty much 2 weeks overdue. Work full time based at home. Expecting a boy - hoping for a more chilled birth and if not, an epidural!

Mumfun · 16/09/2005 12:02

Hi

Im aged 40. Due Jan 16. Live Wimbledon, South London. Have DS aged 21 months.

Last time very big baby and forceps birth. Birth managed very well by hospital - would have been CSed in many places but hoping for naturalish birth and less post birth trauma this time (and definitely not at home!)

spangles · 18/09/2005 09:21

Hi
Due Jan 8th, 3rd child- have 2 DSs aged 4 yrs 10mths and 16 mths. " miscarriages between DS1 and DS2. First DS born after 3 hour labour, finished up with a ventouse delivery (baby distressed) Second DS born after 2 1/2 hour labour... very quick and reasonably easy.
Dont know the sex of this baby!
Cant have a water birth coz I am on heparin injections (to prevent MC) so I will just lie back with the gas and air and wait for it to be over I am 35 yrs old and this wil be the last time I do this!!! [smile)

lyra41 · 18/09/2005 16:56

Lyra - due 1st / 2nd Jan, but expecting later, ds1 was 14 days + term and dd was 7 days + term. I have 2 children already ds1 age 13 and dd age 10.

Laboured in birthing pool in St. Mary's hosp Manchester with ds1, then grotty 2nd stage on back, pushing for 2 hours, got him out eventually with the help of 2 episiotomies. 9lb 4oz.

Had planned home birth with dd, much better, very active, lots of walking around, 20 mins 2nd stage, very relaxing and empowering. 8lb 8oz.

Planning home birth with ds2.

BunnyBoo · 20/09/2005 18:33

Hi I am 23 (baby of the group by looks of things) have a ds who is 3 yrs old had normal labour with him but 16 hrs long and all drugs. This baby expected on the 19th Jan and have found out we are expecting a girl very happy as think this is the last baby.

podsley · 20/09/2005 22:32

Hi I am 33 yrs old, due Jan 25th first baby and having a boy. Haven't decided what kind of birth going to have yet hopefully as natural as possible. It's hard to know though isn't it when you don't know how you will cope with the pain!!

Would like to have a water birth I think.

horseshoe · 21/09/2005 15:27

Hi all.

Im 25, live in London and expecting JAN 20th. Just discovered babies right arm has been amputated in the womb and so praying all else is fine.

Have a DD 2 and have suffered 2 previous m/c.

hunkermunker · 21/09/2005 15:28

Horseshoe? Are you OK?

OP posts:
dyzzidi · 21/09/2005 15:36

Dyzzidi - I'm 27 and very newly married. We live in Manchesterand I'm expecting first baby 4th Jan a Little Girl! Have numerous gynae problems so will be having a c section probably at Xmas.

had 1 m/c last year so am extremely cautious about PG.

No ideas on a name as we can't agree on anything. I will hopefully be working fulltime until the baby is born the having 6 mths off.

I look forward to getting to know you all as I have been deliberately not posting on antenatal threads until i felt more comfortable.

Horseshoe I hope you are coping OK I have read some of the other threads today and am thinking of you.

horseshoe · 21/09/2005 16:44

Thank you...i'm fine.

It could have been worse and I bled for 5 weeks and so could have lost her all together. (my little fighter)

We are calling her Hannah which means "god has favoured me"

Really looking forward to all our beautiful beanies being born safe and sound

dyzzidi · 21/09/2005 16:48

Oh Hannahs a pretty name! Its nice you have actually picked a name I wish we could agree on something. My DH is from the Northeast and some of the names I like sound odd in his accent (I'm from Manchester). I imagine there will be a few more rows before we decide.

IS she going to have a middle name?

sweetkitty · 21/09/2005 22:16

Sweetkitty - due 14th January (hoping for earlier as DD was - 15 days), second baby have one DD 14 months, first labour was 4 hours 20m on gas and air (too late for anything else) hoping for homebirth with g+a.

Don't know sex of this baby am planning to go for a 3D scan soon though. Have just moved house for the 2nd time in 3 months (long story) so hoping to be settled before this baby is born. Have officially become a SAHM.

sorry to hear about your little one horseshoe, fingers and everything crossed for you, Hannah is a lovely name as well.

lyra41 · 22/09/2005 10:54

Hi everyone

This thread is meant to be stats only - we have another one to which you are all welcome called Due Jan 06 - 1st trimester down, 2 to go (or something like that). Come on ova and meet the gang!

Rachey1969 · 23/09/2005 16:04

Just crashing stats thread to say I'm glad you're back Horseshoe - your little girl is clearly a fighter! Come back to the chat thread

GeorgieM · 24/09/2005 09:13

Hi, found the thread at last!

GeorgieM, but now GeorgieP (must change log in name!). Live in Wimbledon with DH and DD (from pervious marriage) who is 4.

We're expecting another DD on 12th Jan. She was a suprise, but we're both over the moon. Have a cervical stitch so am taking it easy.

DD1 born day after 9/11 in Greenwich, Conneticut (should have been New York, but ....). Bit weird to say the least. Short labour, 5 hours start to finish. Had epi and finally ventouse.

This time I want it to be calmer, not laying flat on my back like a peice of meat with a bright light shining up my hoo-hoo! Would like to labour in water and then see what happens. Am trying to keep open mind and just let my body dictate what feels right.

Chuffed · 25/09/2005 16:16

Due 16Jan, 2nd baby dd almost 18mths. Age 31 was living central london currently travelling on way home to Auckland NZ early Nov.
Had c-sec due to unusually narrow pelvis with dd so will push for another this time.

Eshay · 02/10/2005 09:19

Eshay - due 19 Jan. Already have 1 DS, who will be 18 months when his little brother is born. First labour was induced and lasted from Tues pm to Thursday am, after which I had a C-section. Hoping this time things will go a bit more smoothly.

Eshay · 02/10/2005 09:21

PS - I'm from the Netherlands but am nowo in Farnborough, Hants after living in SW Londn for 5 years.

Tickle · 01/11/2005 09:08

Been on the chat thread for a while, but forgot to add my stats!

I am 34, with 3 children & danish DH. DH (41), DD1 (6) 5 days overdue, DS (5) on time, DD2 (18 mths) one wk early. Babies are also getting smaller each time!!? All straightforward deliveries, but attached placenta after dd2, so had to have a GA & surgical removal

Moved from London to a small island in Denmark in spring 2004 - just started a new business - nature centre /cafe. Used to be a management consultant B.C., and DH is a vet.

1 m/c between ds & dd2... no 4 was planned as a little friend for dd2 and it's another boy

Hoping for a home birth, but island life means that any complications result in a helicopter to the university town on the mainland.

Due Jan 2, hoping he doesn't arrive Christmas Eve as that is already DH's birthday!

stripeybumpsmum · 08/11/2005 12:55

Hello,

Vital stats: age 32, married, live north midlands. First baby due 16/01/06..could be 08/01/06... could even be earlier. Yuk early pg, hypemisis, drip feed. OK-ish now. Hoping for half hour, pain free, no stiches, home in time for tea type easy birth. Ha Ha. Seriously, C section has been mentioned (low lying placenta), if natural, have some plans for homeopathy but I think will probably end up with epidural and/or gas and air. Happy to be in hospital for delivery but desperately hoping to get home asap afterwards.
