hub2dee · 19/10/2005 20:18

sorry flamebat. Good luck with your dinde froide (a French cold turkey).

flamebat · 19/10/2005 20:20

Thanks for the translation... I'd have been trying to work that out for hours!!!

Starting to think she's got a sneaky dummy up there somewhere... went up an hour ago, had story and I left her with bottle, and not heard a peep...

JuA · 19/10/2005 20:28

Flamebat - wouldn't it be great if she could dress herself!! Actually I would just appeciate not having to chase dd round to persuade her to get dressed!! How is the potty training going? I really must get started!?! Good Luck with the dummy!

Tic Tac - did you go to the John Lewis in the Trafford Centre - is the baby dept worth a visit? I haven't been for ages but quite fancy a trip before it gets too close to Christmas!

flamebat · 19/10/2005 20:30

We've been completely dry for a few weeks now... but she still demands pull ups to poo in. I'm not too bothered though, she is happy with the situation, she doesn't poo in knickers, and I'm assuming one day she'll suddenly click.

Frizbe · 19/10/2005 21:00

Wow flame that sounds good re dd! for both nappies and dummies! JuA I'm trying to potty train dd properly as of today...will start a seperate thread about it, as need a comparision with our 1st proper day, from people who have done it!! (thought I'd mention it as our dd's are the same age)

Thell, as per March thread, congrats on your girl!!

Bewitched at your mum, pity your relationship is how it is....maybe she'll get better when bump is born? glad you have a huge support network close by tho!

Lol at Hub2Dee....men eh!

TicTac · 19/10/2005 21:01

Flame - good luck with the dummy. I think that young children are far better at cold turkey then adults give them credit for. Just don't go back. If DD gives you any agro tell her that santas fairies have taken it away to to give to a baby and she will be rewarded at Christmas with some lovely presents!!

JUA - I didn't do JL tonight but have been to the baby section in there before, I was not too impressed but then I don't have a lot to compare with. I think they have an ok range of prams and furniture. Clothes where not so good for babies (diddy section) and they look hot for shoes.

Frizbe · 19/10/2005 21:15

oooh forgot to say, went to midwife today and all is well she reminded me just two more monthly appts, then it goes to every two weeks! crikey that close to dropping already, yikes

TicTac · 19/10/2005 21:20

Frizbe....1 more monthly for me YIKES! And I am due to give birth in 16 weeks time....now there is a scary thought!!! I think you are about 2 weeks behind me so 18 weeks for you!!!!

thell · 19/10/2005 21:27

Aha! I'm back again!
Everyone phoned me back at the same time, so was attached to the receiver for some time there!

Flame - I bet the dummy thing will be fine. I'm a nursery teacher, and started out in a day care nursery with toddlers...I've known 18mth old children who can reason with shocking maturity, better than some adults in their twenties!!

I got a John Lewis Baby Dept catalogue free with a preg mag today. Not many clothes at all - furniture very expensive - a range of pushchairs, etc - some lovely toys! I particularly like Sneezy the Dragon, and I want one. For me.

thell · 19/10/2005 21:29

Excuse me - I am also due on 28th Feb, and I want you to stop that scary talk, right now!

Frizbe · 19/10/2005 21:34

Tee heee, I'm actually revised to 27th, but my bettings on March 4th!

TicTac · 19/10/2005 21:40

PMSL...you shouldn't have waited so long to join us Thell

Frizbe - My date is 11th but we are certain she will come on the 7th!!

flamebat · 19/10/2005 21:42

Going with DD, Spark won't join us til mid March

I'm gonna be like J&BM and drive you all nuts for weeks Looking forward to it actually...

thell · 19/10/2005 21:48

Guys - just flicked through my preg record and sonographer has added nothing.
There is a whole sheet of info from my 12 wk scan, but can't remember if this came via docs. What did you get??

flamebat · 19/10/2005 21:51

I got a proper print out from sonographer... but this is the place with the warm gel, so it might just be fancy

3k · 20/10/2005 09:14

Morning All,

Hope all are well. I'm still feeling a bit crap, feel soooo shakey in the mornings. Spoke to midwife yesterday who told me to eat a few biscuits and have a nesquick (YUM) before bed which I did. I even had a banana before getting up this morning but still feel like head is somewhere else. I have to have a blood test to check my iron levels too so will try and get that done tomorrow.

Seeing midwife on Monday, I'm 25 weeks today!! 15 weeks to go!!!!!

Chloe55 · 20/10/2005 09:21

Gosh you were all busy on here last night! TicTac you have just brought reality back to me with an enormous BANG!!! 16 weeks, is that all - really? F*$%!!!! Sorry for the expletive but that's a very scary thought.

Good job I had a long morning with DH yesterday coz I fell asleep at 9pm on his birthday which I don't think he was overly impressed about but he did comment that he had a wonderful morning so I didn't feel too guilty

Absolutely knackered today and woke up thinking it was Friday

flamebat · 20/10/2005 09:38

First of all... a giant WOOHOOO!!! from me - whole night, no dummy!!! She woke up asking for it once, but I just said "Awww no, dummy gone for a bit, remember?" and she put her stories back on and went back to sleep

She had a few tears this morning when she found one in the bathroom and I took it away from her.

Less woohoo-ness though. I was awake from 4am with stomach and back ache It felt kind of constipation/trapped wind-like, but with the amount of fruit I'm going through, I find it hard to believe I'm constipated!!! The tummy ache finally eased off about 30 mins ago, but now i'm just wibbly and feel a bit drained. What with Amanda, and a friend of my mum's who's been bleeding and is now on complete bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy, I was terrified.

3k · 20/10/2005 09:41

I know how you feel Flame, I've been feeling a bit scared since Amanda and especially with my stomach pains yesterday. The midwife, lovely as she is, said if they started up again I was to call labour ward and get to the hospital to be checked out which frightened me more. They have settled at the moment though but I just feel very wobbly in the mornings which is horrible, even eating to keep sugar levels up isnt really helping.

sweetbean · 20/10/2005 09:41

Sorry for gatecrashing your thread!
but it brings it all back to me my daughter was born on the 18th of feb and she was due on the 11,she will be one in feb and the time has just flown by!anyway i just wanted to say good luck to you all,its such a fantastic time enjoy it!!

ixel · 20/10/2005 09:44

Morning all. Just like to gloat that me and ds are going out for a trip, for the first time in nearly 2 weeks due to his chicken pox!! We are finally considered safe enough by our friends!! I cant wait to see the real world again...

I agreee... it is a bit scary how long we haven't got left now! This pregnancy seems to have flown by compared to the last one. And when you think the xmas season is largely not included as it'll give me something else to think about, that virtually no time left at all till baby pops out to say hello (...if only it were that easy for me....!)

poppyh · 20/10/2005 10:07

Flamebat, how old is DD?Im weaning mine off the dummy, shes 2 and a half. Its soooo hard though!

flamebat · 20/10/2005 10:14

2 1/2 23rd May... when's your's birthday? I've been trying a gradual method for a while, but it wasn't getting very far, so just decided to bite the bullet and try cold turkey.

poppyh · 20/10/2005 10:17

Mine is 3 on 24th Feb.So im trying to get this sorted before baby no 3 comes.Am doing the gradual thing and at the mo she can only have dummy at bedtime.Am going to do this till Monday and then try and lose dummy as she only has one left.

flamebat · 20/10/2005 10:20

Yay!! Not just me wanting one off dummies before the other one comes
