Good luck to everyone having scans today. I still feel pants, something must be going round Womba although I haven't got flu (touch wood) just feel achey/headache/bunged up .

My little bump must have woken me up 6/7 times last night kicking away, well that and the cat scratching at the door arrrggghhh!!!!!

Hmm Amanda...just stay strong with him. He has hurt you big time and he will keep doing it...baby or no baby!

Womba - Sorry to hear you are not so well. If it is any use I was like death all over the weekend but short of the odd snot bubble (sorry if TMI) I am ok now so maybe it will be short lived!!

Chloe - hugs to you!

I think my belly grew last night too but I didn't have bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar...

flamebat · 23/09/2005 12:19

Awaiting flavour news from all those having scans today!! Mine is the 7th October, but no flavours for me.

I gave in. I went to M&S and bought SUSHI!!!! Said in big letters on it that there was no raw fish in it, so tis all ok. It was soooooooo good. I'm hoping that it will have stopped the craving for a bit.

Frizbe · 23/09/2005 12:40

Tee he flame, rather you than me at the mo tho, don't reckon I could stomach it!
Jua, 3k and Tabs hope scans are ok x
Amanda1, good luck with telling dd, sure she'll be fine with it and very excited like you say another girl for the girly evenings eh! Agree with Tictac, just stay strong with him, but sure you don't need us telling you that!
Grotty n horrible rainy day here today, luckily dd and I have a friend of mine coming over this afternoon to entertain us!

3k · 23/09/2005 12:45

Hi Ladies,

I'm back from my scan and all went well. He is measuring 21 - 22 weeks which is good as I'm 21+1 today. Only think is I have a low lying anterior placenta so need to be re-scanned at 32 weeks to check it has moved up, which they think it will, and then all will be ok. They said that could be why I had my bleed 3 weeks ago.

ASked to confirm sex as last time it looked pretty obvious but he was lying in a funny position today. She said what she saw briefly suggests a little boy so I'm just going to assume he is a boy as it was clear enough last time anyway.

Just had a nesquick milkshake and going to chill out this afternoon. Baby been quiet on the kicking side for past two days but he makes up for it when I get in bed.

Hope you are all ok and I look forward to hearing what JUA and Tabs are having!!!!!

I'm sure that all this having to drink 1.5pints 1.5hrs before the scan is just an ancient form of torture. Not even half way through yet and I'm already full (starting with banana milk ), and know I'll be bursting for the loo in half an hour!

OP posts:
Tabs · 23/09/2005 12:48

Oh excellent news 3k - posts overlapped, but how funny that we're both on nesquik!

OP posts:
3k · 23/09/2005 12:50

I dont start drinking till an hour before or I think I would pee myself by the time I get to the hospital!!! They say 2 hours on my letter which is awlful, once you feel the need to pee they reckon you have had enough!!

Tabs- good luck this afternoon, and JUA.

I must admit I enjoyed my PINT of strawberry nesqick and it is good for baby too!!

flamebat · 23/09/2005 12:51

You with your milkshakes!! I've had cereal twice over the past 3 days and am regretting it now

Yay for a little man!

Spark normally kicks at about 10.30pm, but has been hyper for the past few days DH is even getting excited trying to feel now! Oooh, DH announced last night that he likes the name Phoebe - I've told him that I don't want a definate name until the baby is born, but its one that I've always liked!

good news 3k, and you get another scan later too! which is great as hopefully dh will be able to make that one, and you get a really good pic of your bubba that late, I got a great photo of dd last time sucking her thumb! and boy does she still love it!

TicTac · 23/09/2005 13:06

I am on the Strawberry Nesquick too!
When I had my 3D scan they told me I shouldn't bother drinking anything as it is all clear enough but eat some chocolate if I want to see it wriggle a lot! So I don't know why there is a fuss about drinking water for the NHS scan!

Glad the scan went well and good luck to JuA and Tabs.

Flame why are you now a bat instead of a sparrow?

flamebat · 23/09/2005 13:12

Fancied being something a bit more feisty for a change Also, big halloween fan, so starting festive thinking now

Ghoulie55 · 23/09/2005 13:25

Ah right, I see. Oh no I'm changing my name back I look like some sort of pervertive bloke!

Frizbe · 23/09/2005 13:25

Flamebat, my dd's birthday is Nov 1st, so I have a choice of two themes for her birthday! Halloween or Fireworks! saves on hassle for a few years anyway!

Tabs · 23/09/2005 14:59

I'm back!!

Well, sorry to disappoint ladies, but Chip's flavour remains a mystery to all! S/he is obviously a little tease though, as had legs wide open when we were looking, but had a piece of cord running through them blocking the view!

Otherwise all good though - everything where it should be and the right size. Started off with bum against my bladder, but moved into a headstand position for a little while, before settling back to bum on bladder. Had a scratch of it's chin at one point - obviously a thinker like daddy!

Placenta is posterior, so nicely out of the way.

So, we'll get one more pop at finding out sex at 4D scan in 7 weeks, but otherwise it'll be a surprise come Feb.

That's great Tabs, part of me wants that to happen to me - I am in 2 minds whether or not to find out and if the bump makes that decision then who am I to argue

flamebat · 23/09/2005 15:31

Aww, I think that's Chip's way of telling you not to find out

I didn't find prearrival shopping too much of an issue - went for all white bedding etc with a couple of yellow blankets, and pretty much only bought a few neutral babygrows/dungaree type things. Didn't need much else, and it gave DH a job for once baby was born... go buy clothes!

Tabs · 23/09/2005 15:53

Blimey - can't risk DH having to go out and buy clothes - I have to choose his clothes for him as his dress sense is so bad .

Won't see it as a big problem if we don't get to find out - it's only the pram that we might have chosen to be a colour that's more one way than the other, so we'll just have to choose wisely! Strangely, the orange/chocolate mountain buggy that I thought was quite girly, DH thinks is quite boyish, so I guess that makes it unisex!!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 23/09/2005 17:01

Mmmm chocolate orange, oh drat your talking about a buggy! mmmm might have to go to shops again now tho!!
Great news re beanie Tabs, glad all ok, pity about the cord, but will make 4d scan more exciting!
