Time for a new thread.

Hope the title will encourage the "reluctant" babes into the world.

Good luck to all who are due now/overdue

PC...I'm putting off loads of things like paying bills, sending in final invoice to work, errrr...finalising divorce. Ok, I think I sorted that one out on Monday - at DP's insistence. It's just so hard to muster up the mental organisation required to do anything.

mummyhill · 14/09/2005 15:45

Back from first day at nursery DD is still full of beans and has been telling me all about the picture she painted of a secret. One of the lovely mumms from toddler group gave me a lift home so not feeling as bad as i did earlier after dropping her off. It takes me half an hour to get there and the same back at the momment which is not funny. Although the lovely sleep I had whilst she was there was great till DH phoned to make sure I was awake to go and collect her.

mummyhill · 14/09/2005 15:45

As for stuff I am putting off well anything that involves expending enerjy or thinking.

nikkinoo · 14/09/2005 15:47

Must be nice to get the rest mummyhill, make the most of it i say.

andif · 14/09/2005 15:56

Back from school pick up feeling most peculiar. Need to join the strange mucus club, and feeling sick and wobbly. Could it be tonight?

PiccadillyCircus · 14/09/2005 15:59

Let's all have babies tonight .

nikkinoo · 14/09/2005 15:59

Andif - was really nauseus last night phoned miwife, told me to take a warm bath and a paracetomol (as had considerable pains too) but still have a beach ball stuck up my jumper today

mummyhill · 14/09/2005 16:00

Would be nice wouldn't it PC

nikkinoo · 14/09/2005 16:01

PC we should make a pact involving eating loads of pineapples and vindaloos, and spacehopping and getting our men to partake in the dirty deed!

Any other suggestions greatly appreceated

Redhelen · 14/09/2005 16:37

Hello!!

Since getting back from wm - and being told my cervix is not favourable I have cramps and back ache - I must be bruised as I I'm sure labour could not start that quick??? could it??

Wish wish wish I could have this baby tonight - sadly very unlikely!

Cabe · 14/09/2005 16:37

Don't forget nipple tweaking Nikkinoo!!!

beatie · 14/09/2005 17:33

Fellow mucus club members - I had some more

I've enjoyed two naps today. One when DD was at Pre-school and one this afternoon when she took a mammoth 2.5 hour nap. Still feel tired and groggy though. Hope I have some energy left to bounce, bounce, bounce tonight!

mummyhill · 14/09/2005 18:24

Bless you all.

After trying every old wives tale in the book I can categorically state that none of them work and baby will arrive when it is good and ready. I think that anything I did with DD was just coincidental as nothing has worked this time round and I am now just sitting here waiting for either baby to decide to come and play or the hospital to induce me.

But on saying that good louck in your efforts girls.

pooka · 14/09/2005 18:56

redhelen i was told cervix unfavourable on tuesday. mw agitated what shecould reach a bit - was uncomfortable. had cramps and a bit of blood, which then stopped by weds. ds born friday night. just goes to show.....
sorry crap typing one handed

nikkinoo · 14/09/2005 19:18

Cabe- nipple tweaking I bet my DP would like that suggestion. Hes even offered to do a sweep for me (eeeuw)

PiccadillyCircus · 14/09/2005 19:49

Useless feeling mummy warning

PiccadillyCircus · 14/09/2005 20:00

Don't think it would be a good idea for this baby to come too soon (and not this evening at any rate, as DH is having to work late AGAIN. Not his fault I know but right now I wish that he had a job that wasn't 50 miles away in London and that he was home at 5pm).

I don't know how I'm going to cope with bedtimes with two of them - tonight it took me 50 minutes to get DS to bed and involved about 4 screaming fits (him) and one crying outburst (me) . Sometimes it feels like bedtime is always a battle and it didn't help when he started crying "Daddy kiss" over and over again when there is no chance of Daddy being back until some unspecified time later. I think he forgave me though as before he went into his cot he did at least say cuddle and give me a big hug.

When I have said to DH that I dread (possibly a slightly strong word) bedtimes with two of them he says "Oh I'll be back then". But he won't.

Sorry about the outpourings . I'll feel better soon (and it does help that DS seems to have gone to sleep, judging by the lack of sound from the monitor). I just feel bad that his life is going to get more complicated .

Thought I might have been having contractions earlier on but they weren't. There's always another day isn't there .

beatie · 14/09/2005 20:21

{{{{Hugs}}} PC. I'm sorry that you've had an overwhelming evening and that you're dreading DS's bedtimes when the baby comes along. Is it for definite that your DH won't be home in time to help?

Enjoy your evening.

Boompi · 14/09/2005 20:45

Sorry re your bad day PC. Hope it improves.

The Hammock seems to be doing the trick. I have wedged two rolled up little blankets on either side of her because she seems so small but its working. Edie sleeps in it during the day very happily and settles easily in it but I am sleeping with her in our bed at night - it just makes the night time feeds so much easier as I can nurse without even sitting up and dh takes care of any nappy changes. Think this is helping a lot as I feel quite un - sleep deprived so far. Everyone does keep on saying 'just you wait..' so we feel like we are living on borrowed time with our little angel. Very nice borrowed time though

Redhelen · 14/09/2005 21:16

pooka - thanks for the information about unfavourable cervix! I hope things will become more favouable before long! Still having cramps - but not getting any worse!

PC - really sorry you had a bad bedtime experience - I hoping things look much better after hormones start to settle!

Cabe · 14/09/2005 21:22

Oh PC... sorry to hear you're so distressed, hopes being dashed about earlier contractions can't have helped - so disappointing when things go all quiet
Just about to go a little wander down the street to see if I can keep these mild contractions going

  • three more whilst out and seem to have persistent dark brown discharge (SORRY IF TMI!) since sweep... perhaps the tummytiger's going to make an appearance after all Your DP sounds an enthusiastic one Nikkinoo!!! doing a sweep may be a dodgy manoeuvre though, definitely eeeuw Got clary sage in the aromatherapy burner... sitting on ball and hoping I go into established labour... Cabe
Redhelen · 14/09/2005 23:11

Kiwikate - hope all is well with you - looking forward to your baby announcement soon - and Lady L.......????

and Mummyhill and every one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

milward · 15/09/2005 00:00

Waiting as well!! - due the 24/09 - but just want to get the job done. Have repacked hospital bags in case this helps!! Know that afterwards there is loads of work & no sleep but the waiting is just getting to me - plus I'd like to be able to get back to my previous size as I'm huge & can't bend over easy. Tricky with looking after my 3 kids!!

Redhelen · 15/09/2005 02:07

Urrrrrrrrr stomach cramps - but are they leading to something or did the 'internal' I had earlier annoy my insides!

Oh well off to try to get comfy - with back ache too! and itchy skin - urrr late pregancy I love it!!!

KiwiKate · 15/09/2005 06:43

Thanks RH. No news here.

Anyone heard from Daisydot? She's been rather quiet lately. Hope that means good news.

Had a bit of a scare with baby not seeming to move (apparently 10+ movements in a 24 hour period is fine - but baby only seemed to move 2 or 3 times in last 24). MW suggested drinking a large glass of cold water (preferably with ice), and then lie down. Did the trick nicely. Baby is definately alive and KICKING! and did not appreciate the cold at all.
