Meet in Southampton - some time after mid November.

ei, I'm local to Basingstoke so if you want me to check out B&B's for you just give me a shout.

The restaurant we are going to is right in the town centre and there are loads of shops, bars or a cinema so he will have lots to do! Oh, the sports centre is right in the centre to so he could go swimming or something!

hahaha pmsl at my dp swimming!! he can just about stay afloat in the bath!! were defo comin now and i did a search for b&b's and found a 'nice little one just off the motorway so were thinkin about that one but if you know of any good ones SH im all ears!! the one iv looked at is called eastside coach house and is quite reasonably priced!!

OK - possible disaster has happened.

The restaurant I was going to book don't take bookings

The woman I spoke to said they don't get very busy at lunchtime so we should be fine getting a table for 9 (ish) of us.

What are everyones thoughts? Would you rather try somewhere else so we definatly have a place booked OR shall we take her word for it and just turn up?

The main advantage of this place was that it has a small play area for kids - although I haven't seen it so I don't know how much use it would be. There are alternatives, such as Pizza Hut nearby!

not a huge pizza hut fan but you know if thats what it has to be, so be it.
I'm all for just turning up at the other place and seeing.......after all there are several places near each other and they cant ALL be full at the same time, its a weekday, after all.
but will go with the flow on this one

DQ, yes there are a whole row of restaurants in the same place so, for those of you who haven't been to B'stoke before, there are about 6 + other restaurants to choose from if we did get stuck!

can i just check that the date for the meet is the 17 November at 1.00 in Basingstoke? I thikn i might be able to come. I will be coming from Surrey, so i think it only takes an hour, does anyone else come from this way that i can give a lift to ?

yes it's the 17th - I think we were going for 12.30 instead of 1pm as someone ages ago asked for it to be a bit earlier.

I'm happy to turn up and see where has room, also not a huge pizza hut fan....my class in Aldershot finishes at 11.45am, so as long as I don't get lost, 12.30pm should be doable

The restaurant is in Festival Place (well just outside) it's the big shopping centre in B'stoke - there is a huge carpark above the shopping centre.

The website for the shopping centre is here if you want to have a look. The restaurant was the Apache Spur steak and grill on the lower floor.

scully, just get on the M3 and get off at Junction 6 - follow signs to the town centre. You can't miss it - 45 mins is bags of time

i cant make it to the meet up now girls sorry!! i was really lookin forward to it aswell but dp wont let me travel all that way on my own!! he cant get the 17th off work as he had already booked the 11th as thats what date i thought it was for some reason!! can we have one after the babies are born?? or would that be too hectic??

DQ, If you respect your camera and love it, dont point it in my direction love unless new lenses can be bought cheap!! ( no violence threatened just i have a face that will crack the lens!!!)
