sounds good to me!

sweetheart · 07/09/2005 09:29

yes sounds fine to me. I can have a look around for some restaurants if you want. Can you let me know who's bringing kiddies and what age so I can find something that will keep them entertained!!!

Nemo1977 · 07/09/2005 09:56

fine by me i only have to get to bonkerz house...lol I will have ds who will be just turned 2.

scully · 07/09/2005 10:14

dd may be with me, she turned 3 in April. Only places I know in Basingstoke are Homebase and McDonalds (as I have stopped in both during my 3 visits there!)
So I'm not much help with finding somewhere for us to meet

dramaqueen72 · 07/09/2005 14:54

okay i can do (assuming nothing changes here) nov 17th, and as a point of interest nov 16th too! I can do Basingstoke, a slightly earlier meet up time would work better but I can try. can we meet somewhere in town itself? as dh will be bringing me and going off for shopping for a few hours so he can bring me home too!
i am doing my utmost NOt to bring any children
bonkerz, its not I want to leave it til one day before or anything, its just i can only say 'provisionally' until nearere the time due to my family/dhs work/etc.sure you know how it is.
is george coming? kangel cant we talk you into it?

sweetheart · 07/09/2005 16:18

this is the webiste for the shopping centre in Basingstoke

It's just off the motorway and a less than 5 min walk from the train station. It has loads of car parking and restaurants - and baby shops for those of us who may be indulging!!!!

Will have a look at the restaurants...

My votes for food would probably go to either:-

Dexters Grill and Bar - It's an american type restaurant that does things like burgers, ribs, steak etc etc. The give colouring bits for kiddies to do - my dd is usually quite quiet when we go there but she is 5 so more likely to sit and colour. I'm pretty sure they have an ice cream parlour thing for kids as well where they can go up and choose their toppings and stuff.

Pizza Hut - Again, they do colouring stuff for the kids.

oh... and I told my dh about the meetup - he was very funny NOT

He thinks if there are 6 of us going we should book a table for 12.

Shall I bring him with me so you can all give him a thump!!!!

OP posts:
sweetheart · 07/09/2005 16:36

ohh also just found out there's a place next to Dexters called Apache Spur Steak and Grill which does the same sort of american style food as Dexters but also has a "canyon play area for under 9's"

I didn't know about that. Might have to check that out!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 07/09/2005 21:04

bonkerz · 07/09/2005 21:05

ei23mummy · 07/09/2005 21:35

hey there, iv only just noticed this thread for meeting up!! silly me!
where is basingstoke??
nemo, if your going on the train down there i could ride along with you if i defo decide to go. it sounds like fun but obv. it depends on the cash flow situation around the time and how i feel in myself!! is there anyone else up north who is coming aswell?

Nemo1977 · 07/09/2005 21:48

ei i was going to drive to bonkerz and stay overnight. But you are welcome to a lift down..i think Bonkerz said she has a 8 seater car and then maybe get train back?

ei23mummy · 07/09/2005 21:56

i was jus looking at train fares and times etc on the national rail website and its only £11.50 to get the train back from basingstoke but iwth a change of train halfway through the journey!it would be great to be able to meet up with everyone before the babies arrive! it would be lovely if i could jump in with you if you dont mind my incessant chattering!!hehe you will have to work out the petrol costs etc as i would obv pay my way!!

Nemo1977 · 07/09/2005 21:57

ei how long does the train take?

ei23mummy · 08/09/2005 00:38
