Yorkstar · 06/09/2010 13:22

MrsChemist fingers crossed that everything is ok for you. Like tummy said many women have a small bleed in early pregnancy and it's usually nothing. If there is any more though, i might be inclined to call GP and see if you can get an early scan.

Pregnancy is sooo stressful. Iv had ms since Wed and then yesterday and today i feel much better and im still worrying that something has happened now Hmm. Also to those who have other children how do you cope with morning sickness and a toddler? My ds is so 'lively', i can't stop him jumping all over me and hitting/kicking out when frustrated and i have to literally limp to the end of the day. Am shattered! Am worried that im harming bean in some way.

tummytickler · 06/09/2010 13:38

Yorkstar I am really struggling with ms and toddler / other dc's. Everything is a struggle at the moment and the house is a total tip (dh is not impressed). I am soooo tired, and feel sick constantly. I wake up longing for bedtime. I cannot wait for this to pass. You are not alone. i am thinking of going to GP for meds. Will see how i go.

So sorry to hear about your CP manamana, best of luck for next round.

MrsChemist spotting is v common and doesn't necessarily mean the worst. Fx for you.

Am feeling incredibly anxious myself today, still have no symptoms to speak of, which I know is neither here nor there really as I'm only 5+3, but still nervous. Am going to book GP appt for next week on the basis that if I make it to 6+ then at least there's more chance of it all going OK.

crazybutterflylady · 06/09/2010 14:31

manamana sorry to hear AF has arrived. I hope you get another BFP soon xx

mrschemist I agree with tummytickler, I have read that red blood is something to worry about but brown could just be spotting. Good luck and let us know xx

runningmonkey · 06/09/2010 14:32

manamama sorry to hear that, hope you are getting some love and tlc in rl x

mrschemist I'd second a call to mw/GP. I had some brown spotting last time but was told nothing to worry about.

zinnia · 06/09/2010 16:03

Yorkstar I know the feeling - my dd takes great delight in jumping on top of me given the slightest opportunity, usually accompanied by a cry of "horsey!". I was worrying about the bean until I read somewhere (don't ask me where though...) that at this stage it's extremely unlikely that it will have any impact whatsoever, apart from making you a bit uncomfortable. The embryo is way too small to be affected, even if you actually hurt yourself by falling over or something.

kurlyvoice · 06/09/2010 18:13

Right, am just back from the doctor and feeling a bit weird. Apologies in advance for being me-me-me but just need to see if anyone understands any of this!

Firstly, he had the results of my ultrasound from when we were trying to work why I had such a long period last time. They showed polycystic ovaries - ok, have heard of those, not great but lots of people have them - and a "subendometrial cyst" over a cm long.

He seemed to think that yes, I was pregnant, despite the obvious odds given the previous results, but when I asked whether it could be a false positive he was like "yes, there are lots of things that can cause HCG as well as pregnancy but you probably don't have them". ARGH.

Have a booking-in appointment with the midwife in a fortnight and we'll see what happens but am feeling not very happy and don't want anything to go wrong. And the first site I got to when I googled the cyst-thing had a woman who'd had a miscarriage and then they found it. The worrying never stop, does it?

Evening all. Sorry to hear about your news manamama , and fingers crossed for you mrschemist . Keep us all posted.

Hows everyone feeling? Been sick today at work which wasn't nice, as its the 1st time I've actually been sick. And soooo tired all the time!!!

x

MummyWilliams · 06/09/2010 19:36

Hello all! I'm really sorry to hear of your sad news manamama, no words of comfort but sending you a big hug.

Hope everything turns out ok for you mrschemist. Got everything crossed for you.

Nothing new to report today.

For those worrying about age gaps, there is a 23 month gap between my DD & DS and can honestly say it wasn't a problem. Just sheer hard work, but then having children is hard work Smile

Take care everyone.

Hi, I thought I had better post as you had come off my thread i'm on list Shock

I am officially in my maternity trousers now, I just can't cope with my jeans they are soo uncomfortable!

manamana sorry to hear your news, good luck for the future!
Mrschemist maybe you should call the midwife? If there was only a little I would probably think it was ok, as so many things could cause it (cervical erosion due to sexual intercourse?) Finger crossed for you though.

I feel a bit poo as my I am waiting for a The Phonecall to tell me that my Grandad has died this week, and my Dad is possibly having angioplasty on the 9th, Worrying and sad times for me :(

I hope everyone else is ok and halfway through to 12 weeks yippee!

MrsChemist · 06/09/2010 21:07

Hello everyone.
Thank you for all the good wishes.
Everything has been fine since this morning.
No more bleeding.
I didn't have the chance to call the midwife today, so I'll call tomorrow.
Felt a little bit queasy walking around the supermarket, but no major sickness.

Sorry to hear about your Grandad Purplebuns Sad hope you're ok.

Pochard · 07/09/2010 13:32

Sorry about your AF manamana. And hope you are ok, MrsChemist.

Kurlyvoice - that sounds confusing - afraid I don't have any more knowledge than google would turn up, but fingers crossed for your midwife appointment.

What a rubbish week for you, Purplebuns. Do your grandad and dad know your news?

I rang my surgery today and was told that a doctor needed to confirm the pregnancy (didn't happen at my last surgery when I was pg with DD), so went along with a jam jar of wee, to find that "confirming the pregnancy" consisted of me telling him I thought I was pregnant as I have had 2 positive tests, him asking me if I smoke, drink, whether I am taking folic acid and whether I feel pg, and checking blood pressure.

Waste of everyone's time as far as I could tell when the next thing is the midwife booking-in appointment in a couple of weeks (I'll be 7 weeks by then).

Oh well - DD (2.2 yrs) had a fantastic time playing with the threading-beads thing in the waiting room(one of those little tables with stiff wires on where you move beads about) and we stayed for 20 mins after the appointment (on her insistance) playing with it again! Even though I kept asking her if she wanted to go to the playground!

row78 · 07/09/2010 14:29

can I join in? My clearblue digital came back "pregnant" today. I've added myself on in the hope I am allowed Grin

Hi Row78 Congratulations!
Pochard my dad knows as we wanted him to know before his op in case it doesn't go well :(
Unfortunately my Grandad isn't very aware otherwise I would have loved to have told him. I have my flat moments but I just keep plodding on, a real worry is the travel for 7hours on a train with my Dd when it is funeral time with the train tickets costing £300 to boot!
I hope everyone is feeling ok :)

Loopy, what an interesting idea you have there. I also hope that manamana is doing ok even though - having spent the whole of last night worrying about it - it must be so very difficult.

On a personal note, I am sorry for being so Sad yesterday - and selfish - but I have given myself a stern talking to and am going to be positive but trying not to dwell too much. Congratulations to row78 and welcome to the thread!

I'm sorry to those of you having a tough time at the moment and hope that your family is sticking together, purplebuns, so that you can get through such a difficult time. But as you say (and full marks for positivity) a lot of us are halfway through to 12 weeks and the LOs are hanging in there... How's everyone feeling? I'm actually feeling better than the end of last week (not so nauseous or tired) but did go to bed very early yesterday!

MrsChemist · 07/09/2010 18:50

That's a lovely idea Loopy and hello to row78

I'm still not feeling too bad. By this point last time, I was feeling quite ill (so now I'm worrying that there's something wrong because of that. I need to stop stressing)
Got an appointment with the midwife on Thursday. They didn't ask my dates or anything, which is odd, because last time, they refused to let me have an appointment until I was 8 weeks along. Maybe the receptionist was just being a cow though.

Hope everyone is doing well!

LostGeek · 07/09/2010 19:39

Aww I'm so sorry to hear manamana's news and about your dad and grandad, purplebuns.

I think it's a lovely idea to recognise those who have suffered a loss.

I called the surgery a day early for my pregnancy test result. Silly. I KNOW I'm pregnant but - what if the lab's result doesn't say so?? The receptionist was lovely and looked twice for me but of course, it won't be back until tomorrow. Feels like I'm the only one whose doctor insisted on corroborating my story. Maybe it's a Scottish thing. Or maybe I look deluded Confused

I'm thinking of learning to drive soon. Do you guys think this is silly? Has anyone else learned while pregnant?

MrsChemist · 07/09/2010 19:53

I learned to drive whilst pregnant. Well, I started to learn, but I was a bit shit and DS was 6 months old by the time I actually passed. Apparently quite a few pregnant ladies learn, and I was able to have my lessons until I was 37 weeks.

SIL took her driving test when she was about 8 months pregnant. She told the tester that if he made her do an emergency stop, she would wet herself Grin
Funnily enough, he didn't ask her to do an emergency stop.

LostGeek · 07/09/2010 21:21

lol lol at your SIL MrsChemist. I'm a big wuss about driving. I know I'll be hopeless and that even if I pass eventually, I'll be terrified to drive anywhere. But I want to give it a shot, just in case I can actually do it. DH and my two brothers, well into their twenties are just learning at the moment so I may as well join them as another late starter. Just applied for my provisional online. I hope they don't kick up a fuss about the fact I already have one, long lost, from 14 years ago.

tummytickler · 07/09/2010 21:31

LostGeek - I am learning at the moment and really enjoying it. My friend passed her test at 7 months pregnant, so I will carry on. I just want to be able to drive so badly now!
I found my last lesson tough, as I felt sick, but it is going well. Definately give it a go, I cant' stop thinking about the freedom!
It has taken 15 years, but I have finally gotten around to doing my lessons!

StiffyByng · 07/09/2010 22:18

I'm sending hugs to everyone who is sad and worried on here.

Thank you all for being so kind last week and reassuring me - sorry to disappear but it's been a bit hectic.

I now feel as if I have a hangover most of the day - that's what I told my boss earlier and I see a few others have said the same! I have waves of tiredness, although then can't get to sleep, nausea and hunger. I have a craving for Diet Coke, which I am trying to avoid, but gave into a small glass today which immediately made me feel lightheaded!

I've told a few people but have a bit of a challenge ahead of me. Before I am 12 weeks, I have my hen night and my wedding! How on earth am I going to hide this when I'm teetotal on my own hen night?! Confused
