Iheart - what a pain SIL! I'm formulating many different excuses to keep it secret, and just avoiding situations where people might guess. Antibiotics is good, or just a stomach upset, or general 'bug' - some very astute people have fallen for that :)

Justtrying - Good thing you're here! I'm 39 and this is the first time pregnant. Of course, it's difficult to find someone with relevant experience to confide in. Good luck with it.

IheartRPatz · 27/09/2010 13:04

The problem with making exuses is that I have been generally unwell recently, and if I fib and say I generally feel unwell, then that will result in a lecture which I'm not sure I'm in the mood to listen to Hmm

southpacificfish · 27/09/2010 13:49

After writing that I was feeling quite good this morning, I threw up and had to go to sleep for a bit! Nice. Damn these hormones!!! Still, my MIL always says sickness is a good thing in the first 3 months....

Tinwe · 27/09/2010 18:22

Hi all

Sympathy to all fellow morning sicknessers. Bad day again for me too, in bed with travel bands on and still feeling grotty. Roll on 12 weeks!

Still... I had some good news today, my very nervous other half told me he'd had an "excited moment" thinking about the baby... Big breakthrough for a man who initially was terrified about having kids :)

Tinwe · 27/09/2010 18:29

Oh and hello and congrats just trying!.

cowboylover · 27/09/2010 19:06

Hello and congrats just trying!

I have had a few dodgy moments on the sickness front today as I try and run to the toilet in the office without attracting any attention to myself. Was funny to discover my collegue doing the same and we both had knowing smiles and said we are looking forward to telling everyone soon Smile

Headaches are my biggest bug bear for the last few days but I bought some cooling head patch things and they seam to help as Paracetemol made me sicker.

Trousers are getting much tighter but wondering is it to early to get Maternity ones? The next size up may just not fit in all the wrong places.

MummyWilliams · 27/09/2010 19:42

Hi! All

lizzyy how did your scan go today?

loopymumsy shall be thinking of you tomorrow. Let us know how your scan goes.

xxx

KatnKankles · 27/09/2010 20:17

Yep good luck for tomorrow Loopy xx

Am hiding upstairs whilst the 3 eldest argue downstairs Shock.

The baby has been twisty all day, I've been feeling exhausted and sick all day and DH is working late (as usual). Baby still waking at least twice a night but at least she goes straight back after a feed.

Got my appt tomorrow for Lletz treatment on my cervix. I had CIN 3 diagnosed last year but they put off treatment because I was pregnant Blush. Not sure how they're going to react when I tell them I'm pregnant again... but.. their fault for cancelling my appt from July really!

Also need to see docs about getting my implant taken out. I have an appt on Weds.

If this pregnancy goes ok it'll be a bloody miracle!

Hello!

Is there room for one more?

Found out last Friday after being in denial for a week or two and I think I'm due around 24th May. DS is 9 1/2 months and DH has just signed up for a job that will see him out of the country 1 week/month starting in Feb so feeling a wee bit nervous about the whole thing!

What have I done??!!!

No, really I'm excited but with a healthy dose of trepidation.

Apologies but I haven't read back through the 100s of previous posts. Hope everyone is having a reasonable day.

Ahhh, the cherub awakes! Must go!

zinnia · 28/09/2010 10:50

Morning all!
Loopy fx for you today, looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Congrats to fijibaby and KatnKankles, and commiserations to everyone suffering with the sickness. Mine is off and on, not helped by the stinking cold I've been battling with since last Wednesday. Finally on the mend now but it's such a pain not being able to take anything for it. The exact same thing happened to me last pg and that wasn't much fun either (forgive me if I've already moaned on about this before).

Anyway, today's GRRR is I was supposed to have my booking appt at 9.00 so turned up all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed bang on time, but no sign of the mw. Finally there's a call at 9.30 saying she was just leaving the hospital (at least half an hour's journey away). Long story short, I lost my rag a bit (all too reminiscent of my last pg, during which many, many hours were wasted sitting around waiting for a mw to show up) but thank god managed to get another appt for this afternoon. Cannot bear the thought of having all this again for the next 7 months - endless waiting around, missing work, getting stressed out etc etc. Am I just really unlucky? Is it a London thing? or are all mw appts like this?

DragonMamiCooksWelshCakes · 28/09/2010 10:59

Can I join you please?

We found out last week whilst away on holiday & have been quietly cacking ourselves ever since. :) We have DiddyDragon who's just turned 2 and had 2 miscarriages before that so we're a bit nervous.

Saw the GP this morning who immediately asked if I'd like to have an early reassurance scan (sometimes having a mental health file like mine pays off...) so hopefully we'll get to see a healthy little prawn waving at us next Monday.

So far I've been knackered & nauseated, but no breast pain to speak of this time. (Last time I was in pain if people so much as walked within a 10m radius of them.) I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that all pregnancies are different.

I'll add my details to the other list thread now.

LifesComplicated · 28/09/2010 11:17

Hi all. I hope you're all well. Sorry I haven't been on here in AGES! Believe it or not I couldnt find the thread (I'm new to all this and couldnt see the antenatal groups link again anywhere!). Anyway, I'm back from the wilderness now.

There's so much to catch up on so I'll have to do it gradually. Welcome and congrats to our new members! Smile.

Loopy - thanks so much for setting up the stats thread, that's great. I hadnt realised but I wasn't on it so I've added myself. It seems there's loads of us due on 29th April. The beginning of August this year must've been a very 'busy' time for us all Wink !

Not much is new with me. Had my booking appt last week. She was more interested in my recent mental health issues than anything strictly pg related and it was all over v quickly. It was with a locum as 'my' MW is on longterm sick. Great.

Anyhow, big love to all and hope you're all feeling well!

Hi everyone, not been here for ages - very busy last week. Congrats to the newcomers -what a lot of spring babies there'll be!

sesame and other all-day-sickness sufferers, I found I could stay on top of it a bit better by eating before getting hungry instead of waiting till I felt nauseous(I have about 3 small lunches at 11.30, 12.30 and 1.30!) I baked a stack of jacket potatoes at home and took those to work to heat up, also soup was good and LOTS of snacks and sweets in between (3 packs of crisps some days!!) I find varying the snacks helps you not to develop too great a hatred of them!
Someone mentioned about the "taste" of water, weirdly I can really taste the metals in it at times and can't bear it! Been drinking sparkling a lot.

I'm now exactly 10 weeks (not sure about the x + x thing) and had my booking appt yest - but last night went to the loo and found pinky/brown blood. It wasn't red and haven't had cramps but it's not what I wanted to see...No more this morning. Gonna call my m/w who was very nice and said I can ring her with any questions. Please hold some sticky wishes for me Smile

LifesComplicated · 28/09/2010 13:32

LoobyLou - keeping absolutely everything crossed for you honey. I hope the MW was able to reassure you when you called.
Sticky wishes
x

Bobbing in to bookmark,

loopy I can see why you feel Confused Take it day by day and I really hope it works out for you x

I am with everyone on the feeling sick front - constant nausea which is only stemmed off if I eat carbs - not good when I'm a suspected gestational diabetes case! I've also been knocked out with a cold too but did find that hot lemon and honey helped a bit with the ickiness as well as the stuffy nose! I am craving such random foods - had to go and buy some potato waffles this morning because it was all I fancied eating.Have found it v hard to cope with DD this afternoon (almost 16mo) :( Just wanted to sleep.

Has anyone else gone off dairy food? When I was pg with DD I drank milk and ate ice cream for Britain but this time, bleurgh!

sesamesmith · 28/09/2010 18:11

Loopymumsy big amounts of sympathy, but keep positive. My friend had fybroids that grew as quickly as the baby so it was like having another twin in there. It was touch and go, but thanks largely to being positive, she has a lovely daughter now.

Loobylou - with you on the eating every hour - I think it's the only way, and eating before being hungry. Very difficult though!

Is anyone else hyper-sensitive to smells? I felt sick walking past a laurel bush, and Tesco smells so badly of meat. Hubby's going to have many extra duties very, very soon!!!!

As for water - I'm onto Schloer now as finding it difficult to face downing water, or even my normal fruit tea bags Confused

cowboylover · 28/09/2010 19:27

I think I will try eating before im so hungry as the sickness is putting me off eating but think thats then making me feel worse.

DH was laughing with my Mum earlier saying he had his 1st pregnant wife experience last night when I didnt know what I wanted to eat so he look me to Asda to pick something nice, in the car on the way there I decided I wanted rosisery chicken, got there and sold out being 8.30 by this point, burst in the tears, refused all other food and then had to stop the car on the way home to be sick! Blush

I think there might be a few more of those by the time the rest of the 7 months is over!

cowboylover Grin I'm sure I'll do something similar at some point.

MrsChemist · 28/09/2010 20:26

Loopymumsy hope everything works out for you, and I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry and stay positive :) Don't worry, you haven't been me-me-me, and even if you were, we wouldn't mind :)

I've had a cold for the past week, so have been feeling rotten. Hard to tell if it's pregnancy related or cold related. I had similar problems last time when I got gastroenteritis at about 9 weeks. I only knew it was sick because DH was throwing up as well, and I'd been throwing up more.
DUmped DS in front of ceebeebies this morning and dozed on the sofa for an hour. Then napped for 2 1/2 when DS went for a nap. So tired.

QwertyQueen · 28/09/2010 21:20

Loopymumsy , hope it all goes well from herein out. Good to have a positive attitude, and as you say there is nothing you can do anyway - so just believe in the best.

LoobyLou33, sending you wishes for stickiness!

My DH had a bit of a wobbly today. We are both self employed and so naturally struggled when we had DS, and have only just got over it and doing it all over again.... SCARY!
