Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

Yay Monstermuncher! Hope all goes well!

Boostar- I do know that if you are fairly adamant about not being induced and you have had an uneventful pregnancy they will let you go further albeit with a little more monitoring. Here they take you in every two days to check. I do know of someone who went 8 days past her induction date. But she also conceeded that her own dates were dodgy.

I have had two inductions, the second was not good but the hospital was new and I had more problems with the staff than the labour itself. Induction is not fun but its a means to an end. Im still wishing this LO out on her own and things do feel very different but my mother was induced on all 6 of us so Im afraid I will prob be disappointed. I have opted for induction the day after my due date all going well but thats because I am so uncomfortable at the moment and cant see myself carrying on the way I am with the two boys for another 3 weeks. It would be lovely to go naturally but also I do live 2 hours from the hospital and DH is afraid of the 'labor drive'! Guess I just have to wait and see. Im no good with these entirely out of my control scenarios!!

Good luck monster and bella. Bella we have the same EDD, so I'm a little bit jealous, but as you're having double the number, I'll let you off.

Been on mat leave for a week now, but today is the first day of DH being at work with me at home on my own. Not sure what to do with myself! Although I do have a 'to do' list, but spent the morning watching Strictly Come Dancing and Helicopter Heroes so far. Perhaps getting dressed would be a good start..? Then maybe move onto another cuppa, hobnob and X Factor..

Lol dixie I know! He's the cutest little boy at the moment, but I do feel so sorry for him - I honestly would not be surprised if he gets his name changed by deed poll before he settles down!!

just pootling along now. I got a few contractions sitting in church yesterday, but as usual, they didn't stick around. Then I woke up last night needing a pee, then had another round of contractions through the night. But still NaDa this morning...!

Argh! Bring on the induction tomorrow, let's see how successful this will be :)

Had the weirdest slightly horrible dream last night, that I spoke to my midwife in the night and she said that I should probably break my waters with a knitting needle to get things moving... and after I'd done it I suddenly thought - but I'm not even due yet... what have I done??!! Thank God I woke up and it was a dream. Hade to share, sorry!

at ooosa (your dream)...made me laugh, ive had some weird dreams too.... Last night I dreamt that I was at a running club running round a field trying to get back in shape. Then I realised that I had ended up having a c section again and that that had been the day before and I was thinking "what am I doing at a running club??"... Er think I have some issues re weight loss/getting back in shape after birth!! (I always put on loads!)

Well this morning I had a bit more bloody show (sorry to put anyone off their dinner!!) and then I took my 2 year old to morrisons cafe to lunch and when I went to the loo the whole plug thing came out! Strange as I haven't had that before so I was a bit like "what on earth!?" I'm hoping maybe something will happen tonight or tomorrow now but who knows....

So thought my little man might come today - no good reason - just a feeling but it's not looking hopeful....

My DD was up 3 times last night, so not like her, so she is very tired today but it has taken me over 2 hours to get her off to sleep this afternoon - she's always worse when she's over tired it's a good job I can be stubborn when I need to be

Ooh, good signs chat, and thanks for the luck :) I'm quite keen to see how it'll turn out - she's supposed to have quite a good success rate, high 70s or something.

(TMI alert) I haven't actually lost my plug yet, I've decided. I'm still getting this gunky, thicker-than-usual discharge, not that dissimilar to egg whites, but it's been going on since the BH monday, so I'll chat with the mw tomorrow, see what she makes of it.

Oh dear with the dream ooosa... I've had some odd dreams, but thankfully not about c-sections. Waters breaking, yes, but that was cos I really needed a pee! lol

I did dream recently that I found myself with a little girl in my arms, called Louise... but although she was mine, I didn't know anything about her birth, and she was a good few months old... Not sure if that one will manifest... Louise isn't on our names list!

If it makes you feel any better park I didn't lose my plug or have any kind of show until about halfway through labour with ds1 (I didn't really see what it looked like properly then either as I was a bit out of it! But I kind of remember it happening though!). So this time I was really surprised this morning when I saw "that"

I often hear stories of ladies going in to labour right before their inductions.... Only 4% pregnancies go over 42 weeks! So you never know park!

Hope you get some more sleep tonight melly. Ive been really aware of getting lots of early nights this week and trying to rest lots. Think that was one mistake I made with ds1 was trying to do too much before and during early labour and then just being absolutely shattered!

Oh, I'm not overdue chat, but I've been getting so many niggles and so many stop-starts, my doula has suggested homeopathic induction to see if we can get things moving along for good! :o

I was pretty much forced into induction at 41 weeks for DS, and believe you me, that's not an experience I wish to repeat...

Hi everyone

Good luck to everyone being induced/in the throes today. I've not posted because I've been so depressed (like Boostar) at the thought of being induced. It is so not what I had envisaged. I thought that by the third time round my body would know what to do, but I had another sweep yesterday (horrendous - never again) and the midwife reckoned my cervix wasn't effacing after all so it looks REALLY unlikely I'm going to have this baby before my induction on wednesday morning.

Boostar - really hope it happens for us tonight! Chathappy - I'll hang onto that thought about having babies right before inductions.

Does anyone have any positive and pleasant induction stories to share? Anyone??

Internet been down so not been able to catch up til now. Big congrats to all those who have popped and big baby vibes to those STILL waiting!!

I have never gone over my EDD before so this is all unknown: 2 on the due date and one 5 days early.

Saw MW on Friday: head fully engaged, stomach like rock, permanently. Very peed off now and in a lot of pain: no proper contractions, just one long bloody braxton!

I am wondering whether I may be in labour and this one will shoot out? Has anyone ever gone into labour proper, without definite contractions, or am I kidding myself??

Have another MW appt tomorrow I hope. Sons' cast comes off Thursday, so sods law it'll happen then. Soooo fed up now: moan over and big lurve to y'all.

Oh I was a bit confused park! Thought you meant induction in the hospital (I'm not keeping up here ). Well that sounds like a good plan anyway. Hope it goes well tomorrow!

Sword, hope it happens fir you soon. You know i have a c section booked if I go to 42 weeks (which I'm really hoping I shouldn't now that I have had some signs) as I cant be induced because of previous c sections. But you know what, I'm not sure for definite but I think if I was facing induction I would probably opt for expectant management after 42 weeks instead and just wait. Can't say for definite unless I was in that situation myself of course! But remember you still have a lot of days left for it to happen and 4% going over 42 weeks is really small!! So fingers crossed for you the most common time for ladies to give birth is between 40 and 41 weeks apparently... (have far too much time on my hands looking up all this random info!!)

After all the waiting and stress I gave birth to baby Luke weighing 9lb 2 oz at 5.30 this evening. Just waiting for dh to put the seat in the car to go home. One gel was enough, left for hospital at 2.15pm and was 7cm when we arrived. Pushed him out with tens and g&a as pain relief, had few probs because of lip on one side of cervix but with 3 fantastic midwives getting me in a good position natural unassisted delivery was possible :)
