Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
whammie76 · 30/08/2010 22:15

comixminx - what I meant is how intense is the pain, wish mine were just niggling pains. I had them earlier whilst sitting and the pain was pretty immense, really started having a panic as could barely move with the pain. It went away once I got walking around abit.

whammie76 · 30/08/2010 22:18

Good luck bananastew - hope it all happens quickly. xx

parkj83 · 30/08/2010 22:20

I've now got intermittant niggles. I had a few very definite squeezes, and they were 2-3 mins apart, with 2 or 3/10 being more intense than others.

I had on-call mw and doula round. Squeezes have eased off a bit now, had a check from mw. I'm possibly up to 1cm dilated, but no-where near in definite labour (latent labour, I think she called it)

I'm gonna speak to my mw tomorrow hopefully, and let things coast along... 26 hours, and I'll be a little more proactive though!!

Off to bed now, to try and sleep. Night all xx

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2010 22:39

Night parkj83 hope you manage to wait til Weds, I'm hoping too but no signs for me although tomorrow's my due date. Sorry to hear about your sister being such a pain!

Glad work wasn't as bad as you expected MammyG and that you enjoyed it. Your kids are back early if you are handing them over tomorrow, ours don't go back until Thursday.

Right I'm off to bed now too just in case tomorrow is the day, DS told me that baby's coming tomorrow so who knows!

parkj83 · 31/08/2010 08:22

ok, it all fizzled out overnight, but as both the mw and my doula said, any work done now is less work to do later.

foxyjbro99 · 31/08/2010 08:51

Hi everyone,
I ate the hottest chilli ever last night & had sex! Neither were very enjoyable Grin but it was a desperate attempt to get something started by today at the latest. Nothing so far though Angry.
Off to see MW today, but in the MLU i'm booked into, they all seem VERY lazy, so don't think anything will become of it!

Morning everyone - can't wait for your news banana!

So no bank holiday baby here depite gallons of raspberry leaf tea and long walks in the park with the girls. Baby has a lot of hiccups though.

I think an August baby is no longer on the cards for me. I read somewhere that 5% arrive on their due date and out of the remaining 95% 3 out of 10 arrive before due date and 7 out of 10 arrive after. Oh joy.

I really don't know why I had it in my head that this one might be a bit early. I think I was just being hopeful that I wouldn't have the DDs for the whole summer holiday whilst heavily pregnant, but it certainly looks that way. I have to try and be positive now and think that at least they are in school/nursery from thursday (due date) so I may get a couple of days of ACTUALLY taking it easy!

Does anyone else feel really Autumnal today? There is a squirrel burying bird nuts in our garden and there was condensation all over the windows this morning. Bit chilly too. I think I'd better test the heating cos if this baby arrives at home the temperature might be a bit of a shock!

Hope all the aches and pains are eased soon. My right hip is massively painful today. They've been painful at night but fine during the day until now. Humph.

mammyG thats a question I was going to ask re: Rasberry Leaf Tea. I have it in capsule form. I was going to start taking mine on friday as I'll be 37 weeks (full term) but I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do. My MW said not to take it until right near my due date but others have told me that they started taking it 6 weeks before!!! What to do??? Think I'll do some web research.

Been feeling a little sick of a morning but as soon as I have some cereal I feel fine! Apart from that, and the odd shooting pain down below I have no signs. Still 3 and a half weeks to go before DD though.

I should always preview my messages b4 posting! Of late my spelling is rbubsih, lol Grin x Raspberry x

beaditAli · 31/08/2010 09:19

Morning all.... seems like just the one Bank Holiday baby then. Hopefully banana will feel up to sharing some details soon.
Definitely chillier up here in Leeds though this morning the sun is beaming which put a huge smile on my face.
Had a brill nights sleep last night considering the rest of August has been awful. Hips and heartburn are the worst thing and it is such a struggle now to turn over in bed. I do think it might the size of Bumpy as we're measuring 6cms over our weeks. Getting ready to deliver a monster, though thankfully everyone says I still look a size 12 from the back. Wondering where this fella has curled himself into....?!
Really helpful to read all your stories. I hadn't realized that period like pains for days before were quite so common so glad they won't come as a shock if they do.
Hoping for a less stressful day with our pooch today. He seems to be declining a lot this week with his age and aching joints. Hard not to spend the whole day stroking his gorgeous face but nesting must continue!
Happy Tuesday to all and good luck to any of you lovelies in the midst of meeting your beautiful little ones.

awful awful night sleep...false labour sucks.

thank god for cbebbies.

bananastew · 31/08/2010 09:42

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did it!

Oliver James was born at 12.30am weighing a very healthy 8lb! Ouch! I'm only a size 6-8, no wonder my ribs and pelvis were suffering!

Seemed to take forever to get established, Went to hospital 3 times in the end. The 2nd time was the worse cos the pains were every 2 minutes but I wasn't dilating! Literally as I left the ward to come home again they started properly! couldn't walk through them etc. Had a nice 3 hours at home, went back in at 9pm (after corrie!!) Did a bit of pushing and possibly a bit of screaming & there he was!

He's the absolute image of ds, and is reacting to feeding in the same way! i.e lazy & not feeding at all! I'll keep perservering!

Anyway. Hope you all had a good BH

parkj83 · 31/08/2010 09:47

Congratulations banana! I love the name too :) xx

parkj83 · 31/08/2010 09:54

BTW, I am stupidly hungry, but very heartburn-y! Has anyone else had this in the run up to D-Day?!

skyeplusbump · 31/08/2010 10:06

hooray!!! go bannana!!! welcome oliver!

Grin Grin Grin

patito · 31/08/2010 10:09

banana Congratulations on little Oliver James.

Im getting quite nervous now, as just had my show and with DS a couple of hours later was in full labour. DP has taken DS out so I can relax, but not happening just flapping around the house really. I dont have any other "signs" but have been munching on the ól pineapple and had sex last night. And thats what started me off last time as well...

Hope your all feeling well today.

Monstermuncher · 31/08/2010 10:10

Yaaaay, well done Banana - congratulations!

beaditAli · 31/08/2010 10:14

Brilliant news Banana....... can't believe you have the energy/concentration to get on your computer so soon!
Love the name though I might be biased as our choice is a toss up between Oliver James and Jack James! How strange!! Time will tell I guess. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS and well done you! x

bellabelly · 31/08/2010 10:22

Oh well done banana! Fantastic news, lovely name too.

OK, who's next?!

beaditAli · 31/08/2010 10:25

Oh Me, Me, Me! Please otherwise this thing will born the size of a toddler!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/08/2010 10:32

Congratulations bananastew!!

It is not recommended before 37 weeks JodeyLea but after that you should be fine. I think the main idea is to help strength the contractions when they come so you have a shorted labour, although as it is stimulating your uterus it does help start things a bit earlier.

I have eaten so much more in the last week Parkj83 but have had heartburn daily for the last 20 weeks so can't really see a difference there!

So today is my due date, still no signs of impending labour and just having a relaxing morning so far- hoping for that September baby, then I will start to bounce on my ball all evening!!

Got a busy day on Thursday with lots of walking so who knows, my poor DS has to have his preschool jabs :(

Monstermuncher · 31/08/2010 10:34

Sorry Beadit, but my money's on Patito!

parkj83 · 31/08/2010 10:40

Oooh patito! Race you to the finish-line lol :)

Although, I am holding out till later tonight for definite :)

Cluds · 31/08/2010 10:45

Wow, i disappear for a few days and so much happens!! Congratulations bananastew!! You sound amazingly chilled and relaxed for someone who has just given birth!!

I am absolutely convinced this DC3 will be early (like DS1 was) as have been having loads of false labour pains, and pains in my cervix as the little worm wriggles it's way into position! Rib pain, hip pain and indigestion still annoying at night, but did sleep quite well last night. I was exhausted though as had a school reunion here on Friday with 18 kids and 8 adults, then dinner for 8 on Sat evening. Sunday chilled and was at an outdoor show all day yesterday with DH and DS1 and 2. Love that the weather has brightened up and feel quite chirpy today!
Who next?? I think i am with you monster and my money is on patio!!
Good luck everyone!
