Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

gormers · 13/08/2010 19:57

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

BB I'm jealous! I can technically fit into all my clothes but jeans are tight and very uncomfortable. I have been eating a fair amount more than usual though Blush, I've been feeling really hungry, in the mornings esp when I never was before!

I'm at an annoying inbetween stage where some old clothes getting too tight, I did buy jeans one size up but they fall off as hips not a size bigger ... hmm what's a girl to do??

Cremegg glad your doing well, our dates are v v close if I remember correctly! I am also looking forward to finding out sex but I think we'll just keep that for us to know and not tell everyone in RL (but I'll be happy to share with fellow viroids!!). What is everyone else doing on this front?

Had a nice night out last night and whilst some went on drinking and clubbing after meal and first pub, I felt very happy to get the car and drive home! Glad about that as I was very Envy of everyone drinking yummy wine!

Eskarina · 16/01/2011 13:49

Urrgh! Who spoke too soon about being nauseous but not sick? Sickness has started with a vengeance, so much so that I'm about to go down and see the out of hours doctor. I've thrown up 4 times in the last 24 hours (the first time whilst I was attempting to park in the Tesco carpark...TMI!) yesterday pm then haven't kept anything down since.
DH is being lovely, despite being slightly miffed that the belated birthday cake he made me yesterday was thrown straight back up again and not touched since! He is insisting on taking a piece to the doctor so it doesn't go to waste!
Had lots of period type pains in lower back yesterday and strong stomach cramps, though they seem to have gone now.

Sorry for such a self absorbed post. Am now worried about bean as well as feeling disgusting. Will update when I've seen the Dr.

Baby2b · 16/01/2011 15:07

eskarina welcome to the club. The last three times I have thrown up there has been blood. Out of hours doc thinks it is my poor throat, but if it happens again I need to go to a&e :( Are you able to keep fluids down? I have been craving orange lucozade and it makes me feel 1000 times better. Make sure u keep sipping at water at least. Let us know how the docs goes.

dynababy I'm only 9 weeks but having the same problem as u with clothes. Really bloated...think I could pass for 5 months pregnant, lol. Back to work tomorrow, so going to have a fashion parade for dh later to see what fits and what buttons do up! Most clothes are ok, but I don't like them pressing against my stomach. Very envious of your twins and still being small brassica. I am tall, but small built so not used to this. Though dh is amazed that I fill my a cup bra now. (rolls eyes emoticon). Grin

cowboylover · 16/01/2011 16:30

Eskarina: I do understand and I remember at my 20 week scan just being so happy that I had not made little wigglesworth sick as well! I was very sick every 30 to 40 mins for about 10 days then back down to 3 or 4 a day and it makes you feel dreadful so you have my every sympathy! Doc said as long as I kept hydrated bump would be fine, they gave me some hydration powder stuff to add to water and worked so far so I hope they can also help you x

I think I bought some maternity trousers from Next at about 6 weeks as unformatable and tummy felt delicate and I am so glad I did as they helped lots and now 23 weeks changing the adjustments. At least you get more wear out of them then! I feel a little like I have novelty boobs now as just had to get a G cup so waiting for them to stop growing. I still have ages to go Confused

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 16/01/2011 17:01

If I'd had the cash I would have bought maternity trousers several weeks earlier than I did. The top half isn't much of a problem yet, but just couldn't stand having my stomach constricted from fairly early on.

Cowboy, don't say that about your boobs! I have (currently) size DD cups and have had the occasional day lately where I've put my bra on and thought I'm just about to burst out of it! And I recall from DS that my boobs kept getting bigger right until my milk came in!

Making a long over due steak and cheese pie for dinner tonight. I really am enjoying wanting to eat again. Although have felt a bit odd today.

PS sorry to hear about the MS kicking into overdrive Esk and B2B. Hope the docs get you sorted out.

Bear x

Baby2b · 16/01/2011 18:03

Envy at anyone larger than an a cup. I hope mine have a proper growth spurt as I haven't seen maternity bras smaller than a c cup Hmm.

Might bite the bullet and buy some maternity trousers for work. So many pregnant people at school at the moment I'm slightly worried I will buy the same as someone.

eskarina I hope you have felt better as the day has gone on.

My dh is making lamb hotpot for dinner and I can't wait. Carbs and gravy make life good! Grin

NervousNelly · 16/01/2011 19:24

So THIS is where you all are Hmm? I don't know anyone on the JS thread anymore! As if not-being-upduffed wasn't annoying enough, I now feel lonely and abandoned Angry Wink.

OK, I'm just jealous Envy. But you lot PROMISED to hang out with us . .

Eskarina · 16/01/2011 20:46

Out of hours GP was lovely (possibly because DH insisted on taking him some cake!) He prodded and poked me, tested urine, took temps, listened to chest, took BP and declared me well. He reckons I've had a bout of gastric flu, ie nothing pregnancy related at all, and as long as I'm still weeing then baby is OK. He gave me some anti-sickness pills, and so far I've not been sick again. Still feel tender though. Am signed off work for a couple of days to recover.
Am slightly miffed I didn't get an early scan out of it Grin Guess I'll either have to wait for the 28th or be even more ill!

So far am still in own clothes. My lovely friend handed over an enormous box of maternity clothes as soon as she knew I was pg. She's had 2 babies, a winter one and a summer one so has quite a selection. I've not looked through them yet, but I might start thinking about the trousers as a sore tummy might not go well with a tightening waistbelt. Slightly disappointed that she's not going for her 3rd yet though - I know she's always wanted a big family.
DH is loving the boob growth though. Am now squeezing into a 34C and have some unattractive 34D bras lined up (was on the small side of 34A before!) I don't like having to wear boring bras! (am trying to stick to non-wired for now, but will see if that lasts)

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 17/01/2011 11:15

I didn't go into maternity clothes until after 20 weeks. Actually wearing a pre-maternity skirt today...

And I ate nothing but chocolate in the first trimester (the calories are the thing, prenatal vitamins take care of the rest no?) without putting on weight. Still only 7kg over pre-pregnancy weight and I was supposedly underweight to start. Apparently a whole kilo of that is baby!

Nice to see lots and lots of chatty people Grin

Eskarina · 17/01/2011 12:19

Wow Frakk am impressed by the pre-maternity skirt Smile I'm trying to wear all my favourite clothes whilst they still fit.

Less pleasant is that the GP was spot on about gastric flu. Have stopped being sick but its started coming out the other end. Good thing I didn't go back to work. Getting quite scared by the cramps that go with it but they seem stomachy rather than uterus-y IYSWIM. If it goes on much longer I shall be bullying the surgery into seeing me today. Sad

vallinnapod · 17/01/2011 12:40

I have just made the 'leap' from JSing thread. It's really great to have the influx of newbies there but I feel it's time to move on for me!

Vomitlicious today Grin No physical upchucking yet just sicky feeling. Revelling in it at the moment as it is so reasuring but I don't think that will last! Boobs are sore as, walked into the door frame on my way to the loo last night and nearly cried!

Typical pregnant lady cravings of anything pickled or vinegary, oh and crisps. Which I must resist as that will be a downward spiral. Can't bear the idea of beetroot though (just typing the work is making me icky) and salad really isn't apealling (I live off the stuff normally!)

So I am either 7 weeks today or 6+4 (depending on if you cound from egg collection - most seem to, or embryo transfer - clinic seem to) Fingers crossed. Scan on Thursday

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 17/01/2011 13:36

Enjoy it while it lasts vallinna and fingers crossed for your scan.

Embrace the downward spiral of crisps too if you want to - growing babies is hard work!

takethatlady · 17/01/2011 14:07

Hey everyone, another leaper here :)

Really glad you said that on the other thread vallinna - I'd been trying to find the words. I am so pleased the thread is full of lots of lovely newbies but I was already hanging around waaaay too long and that was because I knew so many people there. Feels right to move on (but didn't want anyone on there to think I meant that in a not-nice this-was-my-thread sort of a way).

Grin at your pineapple bender nomore. I haven't craved a single bleedin' thing since getting pregnant, though I have eaten my own body weight in mini eggs recently.

esk they did the same to me! My BMI is slap bang in the middle of the healthy range but the doctor put my height and weight down incorrectly, so the midwife thought I was morbidly obese! Well first she thought I was much shorter than I looked, and kept saying 'wow you're very tiny aren't you! Good things come in small packages, I suppose'. I was a bit Confused (I'm nearly 5'4", so not tall but not really short either). Then she saw the weight measurement and realised it couldn't be right (thank goodness!)

Sorry for all the vomiting, but Grin for all the shopping. I am Confused about all the stuff to buy but have a credit card just waiting to be maxed out ...

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 17/01/2011 14:12

We should compile a rough stats/month by month overview so we can see who's due when, especially for the recent leapers Grin

BrassicaBabe · 17/01/2011 14:37

Afternoon All.

I too have made the permenant leap over to this thread. Although I'll pop by to the JS thread once in a while to check up on the old-timers. Hopefully those old-timers will join us here before long.

Sorry for the pukey folks Envy Nice one for puking at Tesco's Esk Grin

I had a failed attempt at a curry on Saturday night. I thought I was over the nausea. I was doing fine. I worked my way through the poppadums, doing well, I get to the onion bhajis, put a forkful in my mouth and then I just knew I couldn't eat anything else. I had to cancel my main course and deep breathe while DH eat his alone. Felt like a right nana! And generally I'm a big meat eater, but I've gone right off proper meat. I can manage mince and burgers and the like, but I just couldn't swallow a slice of beef or a chicken breast.

I'll start with a list frakk. Something like this?

BrassicaBabe · 17/01/2011 14:38

Where did that square come from? That should read "#1 & #2"

Eskarina · 17/01/2011 14:48

Sympathy on the curry front BB I've just managed to eat a bowl of plain pasta, my first real food for about 3 days.
Vallinna Hope all goes well for your scan. Mine is on 28th and am going doolally waiting for it. Illness this weekend doesn't help as I keep worrying that I'm damaging baby, but lovely NHS direct lady assurred me that as long as I'm still weeing then baby is fine and it's just me feeling crap.
Have rung into work to say I won't be in tomorrow, only to find out that half my class are off with D&V too. No prizes for guessing where that came from then!

Will have a go at stats:

Oohhh! a list! I'm making the move too, even though I never managed to post often! Got scan tomorrow at 11+3 . trying not to think about it too much.
This thread feels all comfortable Smile

Sympathies to all who've been feeling crap. BB that was exactly the kind of thing which I've had for the past 6 weeks - no sickness, just not able to eat very much. Have curry envy now though.

vallinnapod · 17/01/2011 15:14

Brassica - all I want is meat! Steak, kebabs (as in shish none of that doner dogfood Wink, chicken, fish, prawns. Bring it on!
