Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

gormers · 13/08/2010 19:57

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

There was meant to be a colon not an @ after my name...fat typing fingers...

Lots of trapped wind today...doesn't stop me running to the loo every 5 seconds to check for bleeding :( Oh and the incessant need to pee but I had that prior to PG..!

Feeling the pain of the MS of those suffering. No matter how many times you tell yourself it means baby is okay, you still feel shit.

I still don't like pasta or curry (much to DH's disgust), but have been having interesting cravings for food from home, none of which I can get here. Other wise drawn to gherkins at random times (hmm actually that's a childhood food too).

Well, I go off to earn a penny and suddenly we have a list Grin Don't think this one breaks the jsing rules though, lol.

Hope u feel better soon eskarina.

I have developed a sweet tooth that I have never had. Drank a bottle of orange lucozade on the train at 7am this morning Blush. Somewhat worried about my teeth but it's the first time I have felt human in weeks. Also got a real thing for weetabix after seeing it on an add...might just be for the spoonful of sugar on the top though!

vallinnapod · 17/01/2011 19:32

Light brown spotting started again :(

Baby2b · 17/01/2011 20:26

vallinna really feel for you. There have been lots of threads on this and a lot of people have spotting right through their first trimester and everything is fine. There was something about brown blood being old, so not as bad, but if red to go to epu. Might be worth doing anyway. Are u getting any pains?

Baby2b · 17/01/2011 20:31
Eskarina · 17/01/2011 21:36

Vallinna Sad hope it's all OK. Call the clinic or your MW tomorrow if it hasn't stopped.

Baby2b am craving lucozade too, nearly cried when DH came home without any (I didn't ask him to get it!) I think it's because that's what my grandma used to give us if we were off school ill and mum was at work. That or Lemon Barley Squash. I want to be 6 again and watch daytime tv at my grandmas.

Dynababy · 17/01/2011 22:32

Evening all, nice to have all the diffed viroids here, probably for the best when our chat is going to get much more shopping baby centric Grin

NN if you're reading this, keeping fingers crossed this is your month!!

Dynababy · 17/01/2011 22:34

Oooh meant to add I have the opposite concern to you baby2b I am a G cup normally, I am soooo worried they might grow and won't be able to find a maternity/nursing bra to fit anywhere Blush

BrassicaBabe · 18/01/2011 10:07

Crap vallinna. Try not to worry. You've had good scan results and have seen the heartbeat. Hang on to this ((hugs))

I've heard about a number of women craving lucozade b2b. I can't imagine it will do much harm as long as the craving doesn't last the whole 40 weeks Grin

I'm trying and failing not to obsess about my weight. I normally like to be between 10'10 and 11'0. But when I got diffed I was 11'5. For which I'm blaming the clomid, not sure if that is right or not, but that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Grin I've managed to keep myself so far between 11'0 and 11'5 so far (13 weeks) thanks to a little bit of MS. I'm not dieting, but I'm trying to keep an eye on things. Although that didn't stop me eating 2 sausage rolls for tea last night Grin. I then spent most of last night googling "pregnancy weight gain chart/week by week/spreadsheet" etc before spending an hour making up my own spreadsheet to plot my gain on Hmm I managed to lose 2 stone over two years ago and I've managed to keep it off by keeping a constant eye on what I eat and my weight. I'm struggling to let go of the control.

vallinnapod · 18/01/2011 12:08

Morning all. Still light brown spotting here, small brown clot. Awful period pains for about 30 mins this morning but these have mainly passed.

Apart from reassurance there is no real reason for me to go to the clinic yet - scan on Thursday anyway. Plus it would be another £200 (not that I begrudge this at the moment)

Plus when I was scanned last Thursday the clot they saw had got smaller but was still there so am hoping it is just this working its way out.

God this is stressful :(

Eskarina · 18/01/2011 12:22

hug Vallinna It's not long til Thursday.

I've still got the runs. Cramps are not so bad today. Am debating whether to phone the hospital, or whether to just wait it out. It is only a D&V bug. Feel grotty though.

Eskarina · 18/01/2011 12:46

I've got lucozade on the brain now! Think I might have to pull myself together for long enough to drag myself to local drug dealer dodgy corner shop as don't think I can manage the 5 min walk to Co-op. On the bright side the local corner shop won't bat an eyelid if I go as currently dressed - fluffy purple dressing gown and towel on head!

Plus I thought I was up to eating today. Tried to make toast. Bloody toaster has a piece of crust stuck in it. Couldn't cope with burning smell so now back to square one.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/01/2011 17:07

I was making sushi for dinner. I forgot the rice and it burnt. we have no more sushi rice in the house. Now I'm very Sad DH is a bit Angry as well as Sad. Now all I want to eat is sushi.

Pleased you're starting to feel a bit better today Esk.

And fingers all crossed for you Vallinna that it's just that pesky clot working it's way out and nothing else.

BrassicaBabe · 18/01/2011 17:10

More food talk Blush Wondering about nipping out to buy some popping corn kernels. They "feel" low cal and filling.

Sorry about the sushi nomore

Vallinna thinking of you, hope all is well and the bleeding stops, as someone else said I think this can be common not that it make you feel any better.

Luco Orange is my guilty pleasure bu still off most food I normally like. My diet is usually terrible but now really enjoying healthy food Confused

My fav symptom at 23 weeks now the sickness has nearly stopped is having really vivid dreams and always sexual!! 90% of the time staring Jacob from Twilight but have since done some wikkipeadia research on him and found out he is 18 so feeling the guilt now! Blush

Baby2b · 18/01/2011 21:42

eskarina that is exactly why I like lucozade. Was never allowed fizzy drinks, just lucozade when I was poorly. I have to say since having it for breakfast yesterday and today I have been able to eat more normally. Down to puking once a day which I can live with.

brassica I know a couple of girls who have struggled with the weight gain and stepping away from the scales. I suppose it is something that will be different for everyone. I'm currently 10'11ish (all in the booty) and expect to be quite big. Whereas there is similar built girl at work who is due to drop and looks like she has just attached a fake maternity bump (like glee). Though she does eye my pasta at lunch while she seems to live on cuppa soups Hmm

vallinnapod fingers crossed for you.

Baby2b · 18/01/2011 21:44
Eskarina · 19/01/2011 09:17

Oh Viroids. Feeling so sorry for myself. Still got the runs. Didn't get any sleep last night as I was on the loo every half hour. Spent the night downstairs so as not to disturb DH. That was successful as he didn't notice I wasn't there until 7am!
Have GP appointment soon, was really lucky to get straight through and be taken seriously. Then had panic attack about how I was going to get there. I haven't eaten properly in days, didn't sleep last night, and was sick last time I was in a car. I worked up courage to phone some lovely friends from church and one of them is going to run me down on his way to get his hair cut. I love retired people!
And to add insult to injury I feel sick cos I'm not eating. Angry Really hoping the GP will send me off for an early scan this time as am worried about dehydration.

Have been shaking all night and poor DH couldn't not go in to work this morning - he's at the end of a project which MUST be finished today, though he did say he'd drop it if I can't cope at home on my own.

Sorry about long self obsessed post. Just typing it all out is quite cathartic. Will update when have been to GP

takethatlady · 19/01/2011 09:22

cowboylover me too. Mine are sometimes sexual and sometimes just mental, but I have been having such vivid dreams from the start!

baby2b if you start small and large maternity bra company can you also do a range of sexy maternity clothes? I am sick of walking into Topshop and H&M and New Look and finding a crappy little maternity section shoved in a secret little corner which has one pair of trousers in it and a couple of tent-style tops with a hideous print on them. Or going into more sensible shops like Mamas and Papas or Marks and Spencers and discovering that apparently all pregnant women are over the age of 60 and rarely leave the house except to go to work Hmm

Also, there needs to be a range of maternity clothes for people between 8 weeks and 8 months!!! I'm 17 weeks and my normal jeans cut into my bump and my maternity jeans fall down. It's going to be like this for a long time, I can tell. There need to be in-betweeny clothes!

Sorry, have woken up grumpy because two of DH's sisters (I love them really) are being bloody horrible to me, DH and the other sister for the most stupid and pathetic of reasons. I would like to tell them what I think, but this would be suicide and if I did happen to live I would definitely regret it forever, so instead I'm ranting on here about maternity clothes :)

On the plus side, I don't like Lucozade but I LOVE Ribena :) And I had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again :)

Woah this is a me me me post. Sorry!

BrassicaBabe · 19/01/2011 09:41

Morning Lovelies

Sad Poor Esk you sound like you are having a horrible time. Hopefully GP will be helpful. So nice that someone is going to take you there.

I'm starting to wonder what I've missed with this whole lucozade thing Grin

I've not had the whole maternity wear pain takethat yet. But it does sound like it's going to be a nighmare. I don't want to walk about for 6 months+ looking like a scank, but I don't want to spend a fortune either. Hmm I've been browsing on-line M&S, Next, Seraphine, Mamas and Papas and Isabella Oliver. But not bought anything yet.

Does anyone else lie in bed in the night in agony because you need a wee, but still doesn't get out of bed?! Or is it just me?! Grin

takethatlady · 19/01/2011 09:54

bb yes! We have a downstairs bathroom so I just lie there, wide awake, crossing my legs Grin

How are we going to be mothers when we're too lazy to take ourselves to the toilet?? Hmm Grin

Sorry, I cross-posted with you esk and didn't see. You poor thing- hopefully the docs will sort it out straight away and you'll be feeling better in no time. Sounds horrid, but it also sounds like you have a lovely DH who will take care of you. Have a Bear, a hug, and a bit bottle of Lucozade for the shakes ...

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 19/01/2011 10:25

Hope your feeling better eskarina it's always more worrying when you're pregnant and ill :(

Thinking of you vallinna let us know how you're getting on.

Maternity clothes... Dresses and underbump jeans are your friend, especially coupled with long tops! I'm wearing non-maternity dresses that I'd normally consider as shapeless shift style but they work surprising well with a belt over the bump. Or wrap dresses.

If you love lucozade just wait until you have to down some for your glucose tolerance test Grin. I'll confess to refusing the lucozade (or rather the lucozade equivalent) and having half the volume of doubly sweet stuff followed by some water!

Weight gain, don't stress. There will always be someone who says it's too much, too little, not in the right place etc. Then you'll get to antenatal classes and compare your bump to everyone else's and try to guess their due dates and get it all completely wrong!

Eskarina · 19/01/2011 10:45

Thankyou. You're all lovely. Dr told me not to worry (yeah right Hmm). I did cry on her for good effect. She prodded my tummy and said she thinks the pain is "just" my stomach and gut playing merry hell with me not my uterus. So I'm not to have any solid food until this sorts itself out, for a max of 48 hours. Can drink as much as I like. I am choosing to assume that this can include hot chocolate and other calorie things as with low blood sugar I'll be puking for England anyway.
If all else fails I might have to imagine some bleeding go to A and E as that's the only thing she would consider a serious problem.

Loving all the talk of maternity clothes. My regular ones are hanging off me at the mo!
Guilty pleasure whilst off work has been to look at pushchairs and bedside cot thingys (getting carried away convincing myself we need a bugaboo and a bednest) But then DH has decided he must have a fancy new lens for his camera to take half decent photos of squiggle and the cost of that wipes out anything I've so far spent imagined away on baby products. Thankfully he's had decent rounds of profit share (not bonus, he's not a banker!) in the last few years so we can afford to at least consider the more expensive ones.

Hey all, lol to the bra chat! I have almost forgotten what my normal bra collection looks like, currently in v granny soft bra, does no favors to large boobs!
Hope vallinna and esk are ok? Hope docs are being more useful?
dyna hehe we are pretty close on the date front aren't we?!
I have an appt next week that is a check in with a registrar at the hospital, and to check heart and lungs (mine) which I hadn't heard of in uk, anyone else having that?
I had the worst jet lag coming back from uk that I have ever had in my life. Literally felt confused for 4 days, not good. No plans to fly again soon, and don't wanna imagine doing that flight with a baba! Lol!
