Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

B2B I still can't believe I have a nearly 3yo DS sometimes! Don't feel bad for feeling like you do, just take care of yourself for now. x

Baby2b · 12/01/2011 13:29

Thank you! I want this so much, but thought I would feel more pregnant than I do.

cowboylover it must be so surreal buying items for a little person u haven't met yet :)

I have my first doctors app on Friday, before being referred to a midwife. Any questions I should ask?

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2011 13:54

Hi

Maybe it's time I made a more permenant leap over to this grad thread rather than clinging in on the JSing thread. Us up-diffed lot are nearly taking over Blush

Wow 22 weeks cowboy! That seems to have gone really fast. Probably not for you though Smile

Baby2b · 12/01/2011 14:24

Hey brassica, I felt we were taking over a little too. Have you seen there is also a twins thread for you to keep an eye on.

Having a another duvet day today. Going back to work next week is going to be a shock to the system. Feel guilty for being off, but my public spewing was getting beyond it. Surprised I have not been approached as someone who is drunk and disorderly Grin

How is everyone else doing symptom wise?

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2011 14:31

Poor you b2b I'd missed the fact you'd been so poorly. Try not to feel guilty for being off work. And I can't imagine your employer would be too chuffed at the public puking either Grin It really is a man's world isn't it? I had my first hosp appointment this morning and was off-line until mid-day. I feel guilty too. And there are more of these appointments to come.

My MS has been fairly mild with no actual puking. But I haven't eaten an evening meal for about 8 weeks! My nausea gets worse throughout the day and by the evening I can cook or eat. Not both! Grin

Baby2b · 12/01/2011 14:46

My boss has been great, which has helped. The nature of the NHS means your apps will never be convenient for work, lol.

My dh has been doing the cooking for the last week, but I have just been eating simple meals. Trying to keep all my food mild tasting and each meal a similar colour. Found out the hard way that cranberry juice and eggs on toast brings back pink eggs...sorry for tmi! Blush

Sounds like your dh is going to need to be on cooking duties too. Remember the days of meeting friends for dinner and cocktails. I have had to make up a huge array of excuses for being anti-social. My work collegues not in the know have decided I have swine flu!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/01/2011 09:35

If it helps I've only taken over cooking full time again this week (at 17 weeks). And only really enjoyed an evening meal 3 nights ago. Now I feel hungry all the time. Think my body is trying to make up for 3 months of near starvation. Did lose my breakfast this morning though. Apparently the combination of trying to clean my teeth followed by the giant poo in DS's potty was to much for me. Joy. (Sorry TMI).

It's good to have viroids to talk to in here. It's been so very quiet. Think we might need to hire a cleaner to clear out the dust and cobwebs Grin

BrassicaBabe · 13/01/2011 09:54

At 12 weeks I've managed to keep my weight the same as it was when I got updiffed. I'm not dieting, but I'm just keeping an eye on things. I have no desire to have to lose 4 stone afterwards. I'm clearly going to get an @rse like a bus anytime soon though Grin

Baby2b · 13/01/2011 12:29

Think my weight has stayed the same so far too. Did have a naughty bag of chips last night. As predicted dh was running out of things he can cook :D

Poor u nmcb, though glad u have started to come out the other side. Does your ds know there is a little bro or sis on the way?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/01/2011 13:32

I'm not sure quite how much DS understands about the baby. Some days he seems quite happy about it and other days he doesn't want to know. When my stomach gets huge and moves he might twig, otherwise we'll just have to wait til we bring the baby comes home and deal with it then.

My weight dropped but seems to be back to pre pregnancy weight. I just need to be careful of my near constant desire to eat. Am finding myself wanting lots of fruit and veg which really helps.

How's everyone today?

Baby2b · 13/01/2011 14:09

I'm good today thanks. Got the munchies and really enjoying fruit. Oranges have never tasted so good!

Just wishing away the days until I'm 12weeks

How are our other jsers doing?

BrassicaBabe · 13/01/2011 15:33

I'm with you on the orange craving b2b

I'm so tired I could crawl under my desk to sleep.....

cowboylover · 13/01/2011 21:59

I am the same: I am all about the fruit and veggies at the moment and lost really 4 stone with sickness and upset tummy ect which is luckly slowing down now!

Got SPD now and sore hips but looking forward to seeing if the physio helps on Wednesday.

Going shopping for baby stuff with Mum tomorrow and excited for prams ect. DH reminded me to 'keep it real' and not get sucked in the pretty colours and shiney things Grin

cremegg · 13/01/2011 23:44

hey all, been a while, hope all are well!
13 wks today for me, v into oranges and OJ too lol.

Only symptom I keep getting is a throbbing headache, gave in to paracetamol last week but managed to shake last nights one by using cold pack. Joy!

Had 12 week scan last week, v exciting and cannot wait for find out sex at next one.

DH seems excited but gets frustrated when he realises we can't just pop on holiday nearer D day or might not be doing mad stuff like kayaking for a while, also he's not madly keen on getting rid of office space (that's not even used!) to make room for baby. think i will just do it bit by bit, hehe.

how did shopping go cowboy? giggled at the 'keeping it real' hehe.

BrassicaBabe · 14/01/2011 09:40

lol for "keepting it real" Grin DH gave me the same talk last night about not getting sucked into fashion for the sake of it. I asked him if he knew me at all?! Grin (Cos I sooo will Grin)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 14/01/2011 11:22

Been snoozing late this morning (still in bed and DS in front of cebeebies Blush) and I know I had one dream about MN and am not sure if I was dreaming about buying baby clothes or just half remembering looking at them on the net last night. What has my life come too?!

Finding it a bit hard to get comfy as had physio for my SPD yesterday and while it feels better it also feels worse in a strange way. Only another 5 or so months of this! Cowboy you have my full sympathy.

I'm on a bit of a pineapple bender at the minute.

Eskarina · 14/01/2011 16:02

I'm very into orange too - fresh juice and icelollies. Am v jealous of you ladies losing weight. I haven't weighed myself (but bet my midwife will do that thisafternoon) but I'm sure I must have put weight on. Eating salty things (ie crisps) or chocolate seems to be the only thing that keeps the nausea away. And I haven't been sick so it all stays there and goes on my thighs! Suppose I should be grateful I'm not throwing up!
Better go as am seeing midwife shortly. Am v excited as at 9/10 weeks (I think 9, NHS think 10!) I was beginning to think nobody cared!

Baby2b · 14/01/2011 16:49

Good luck at your app eskarina. I just seen my doc so I can get referred to midwife. Seemed to be a waste of time. I announced I was pregnant and she said she would send referral letter...end of consultation. Not sure what I was expecting?!

With u on the icelollies, they are the only thing that quench my thirst. Loving the rockets from m&s...yum!

Eskarina · 14/01/2011 21:15

Baby2b I had an equally time-wasting first appointment with my GP, in which about the only thing she did was tell me off for not knowing which hospital I wanted to give birth in (there are 3 possibilities locally)!

The booking appointment took over an hour Shock, but at least the midwife seems to know what she was talking about. It turns out that the GP or her secretary had made up a height and weight for me, which it's a good thing the mw decided to check as their made-up data gave me a ridiculously high BMI and put me in various risk categories whereas my real one is rather healthy! Am now paranoid that I'm going round looking short and fat!

I'm unclear as to why I needed breastfeeding/bottlefeeding advice at this stage though Confused but DH and I had a good giggle over the NHS pregnancy book which explains how to get pregnant, complete with numbered, labelled diagrams [childish emoticon]. Surely if you've got to the stage where you're getting the book you have some idea of how it happened? Wink

cowboylover · 14/01/2011 22:08

I found the first appointments like that as well and the 'booking appointment' is the same to be honest as it really was just a paperwork excercise! Lots of tick for yes ect but I suppose it needs to be done. But for those of you who have not had your first scan yet it is amazing and I still think about it now the first time we saw little wigglesworth Grin

Pram shopping today was not a great success. Mothercare I liked the look of one but it just felt like it was going to break and the iCandy is just so expensive and then just generally bad service who could not be bothered to show us how it folded or anything at a so call baby boutique! 2 more shops to try tomorrow then thats South Wales done I think! On a good note I think I have picked the furniture from Ikea and wont break the bank Smile

Baby2b · 14/01/2011 22:52

grin at labelled diagrams. Cheeky and unprofessional making up stats though!

Jealous you are at the pram hunting stage cowboylover. have to say I helped a friend pram hunt once and the mother care we went to were useless too. I wasn't that much help either as I just liked the pretty ones :o

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/01/2011 12:39

We had alook at Mothercare ages ago and about a minute after I told DH the pram he'd pointed to was a big fat no, the sales assistant came over and decided it was the one for us and spent about 10 minutes talking it up. I still say no to that one Grin.

I went out for dinner last night and almost feel like I spent the night drinking wine. My throat hurts from trying talk over the stupidly loud music in the pub afterwards and I feel all dehydrated and tired (well tired is normal now, but doesn't help the hangoover feeling). Never thought I'd get a hangover from soda and lime! It was a good night though, so well worth it.

Ohh ice blocks sound just the thing for raw throat

Baby2b · 15/01/2011 12:55

Glad u had a good night out nomore. I never mind feeling a bit rubbish if it was worth it :)

Bought a couple of books this morning. The day by day pregnancy book, which has lots of useful info. Also bought a pregnancy journal on a friends recommendation, it's meant to be useful to compare to future pregnancies. Though if I remind myself of how I have been feeling this could be the only one!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :)

Dynababy · 15/01/2011 14:48

Hello all!! I also feel like prego lady take over on the js thread so will be spending more time over here!

V Blush to say it but I started looking at prams and reviews and furniture very early but have resolved not to buy anything for quite a while yet (I'm only 13 + 3)..

Cowboy I love the look of the icandy and god reviews but oh so expensive esp since you'd need the carrycot as well. I'd like to look at it though and the silvercross surf..... Have you any in mind? Its pretty poor the boutique couldn't give a proper demo..you'd think be falling over themselves to sell!

baby2b hope you start to feel less sick soon.

I bought my first piece of maternity wear online today Blush its an isabella oliver wrap coat and hoping i'll be able to wear it for months. Think I might need some new jeans and trousers in a few weeks too as getting tight .. I'm with you already NMCB on the flys down in the house!

Have a great weekend! I'm off out tonight for a friends birthday but in the group 3 of us are preg so won't feel so alone in the non drinking stakes. I'm soo glad some of my friends will be on mat leave at the same time for meeting up and sharing tips! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 15/01/2011 16:42

lol @ eskarina's "Am now paranoid that I'm going round looking short and fat!" Grin

('Tis very busy over on JS thread, hardly know anyone all of a sudden Smile)

I've had a brief browse of maternity clothes and double pushchairs, but so far yet to buy anything.

I second the appointments moan! We had our first host appointment on Wednesday and were there 3 hours. We saw 3 different individuals, inc consultant, which probably added up to 45 mins Hmm

nomore I'm with you on the "hangover" feeling following a night out! We used to go to the local pub pretty much every Friday night. But I have to say I'm not inclined to bother now that I can't drink and everyone else talks total rubbish after a few beers! Wah!! I want to talk rubbish too!!! Envy

13 weeks tomorrow. Wondering when my bump will arrive Confused I can still get into all of my clothes. Although I'm a bit "thicker" around the waist I think. I think with twins I'm going to wake up the size of a house any time soon though! Grin

Have a good weekend all! Smile
