Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

Well done on the restraint nomore :) Bet that won't last long!

I'm not having any cravings, though even at the height of sickness salt and vinegar crisps have been totally manageable, and I still love them now. Discos and Pringles are my favourite ... mmmm ... definitely ambivalent about fruit and veg though. Just had two clementines and a banana to try to get back into the spirit of things, but I reckon pregnancy has been the worst time of my entire life nutritionally speaking. Or it's at least on a par with when I was a student and budgeted £10 a week for food, and mainly lived on weetabix and sausage sandwiches.

Mmmm .... sausage sandwiches.

esk, I want to buy maternity clothes too. (I just typed 'I want to buy sausage sandwiches too' Grin). I have bought some jeans because everybody said they were essential, but I need two paperclips to wear them. My old jeans still fit though the button digs in, and all my dresses etc fit on looser fittings. I'm 18 weeks and I do have a hard round bump but it's not big enough! (and all my clothes are fitted too, and most of them in a tarty way Wink)

takethatlady · 25/01/2011 13:35

By paper clips I meant safety pins. Doh!

Baby2b · 25/01/2011 16:34

Just lurking, as keep falling asleep after work. Got a couple of interesting stories but worried they will out me to rl? Does anyone else worry about that?

Anyway, still ms, still eating everything I shouldn't, still wondering how I am allowed to have a baby when I know nothing (irrational panic of the day).

Loving the burn's icons [bgrin]

Hope everyone is well.

P.s. Pmsl at retyping sausages tll

cowboylover · 25/01/2011 17:28

Baby2b I know what you mean but everyone is the same so hopefully no outing going on! I am in the due May club so wondering which one is Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Holly Willaby!

I am usually such a bad eater I think my cravings have been totally weird to all those know me as I want vegies all the time especially leeks! I would normally have quavers and choco digestives for breekie and now loving my porridge Smile

Exciting news times for all the 12 scans coming up! I remember looking in total disbelief thinking its real its real!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 25/01/2011 18:24

[bbear] - just wanted to use him.

I forgot to add to my list of cravings - water crackers. I can't get enough of the things. plain, with peanut butter, cheese, plain I must have more! Also thinking of making hot cross buns tommorrow. [bhmm]

Cowboy (I still type coyboy every time!), I think Vicki B is in the June club with me and TTL. WIll be avoiding Grazia magazine til then as they are now on bump style watch. She's a twiglet I don't care how she hides her bump!

I really am in her to often.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 25/01/2011 18:24

in here not her.

takethatlady · 25/01/2011 18:59

Grin nomore. Didn't know you liked Posh Spice so much Shock

Baby2b · 25/01/2011 22:32

Well, it is because a random person at work managed to guess/find out I am pregnant and has told EVERYONE! Would have been nice to announce it myself [bhmm]

Love a good typo nomore

< goes off to google celebrities due in august>

vallinnapod · 26/01/2011 10:09

What an arse B2B...people at mine are going to think i have the gestational period of an elephant as the main people I work with have known since IVF!

Worried today as boobs don't hurt and I don't feel sick :( Typical....!

milanomum · 26/01/2011 16:59

'Lo!
Vall don't panic - are you around 9 weeks? I had a complete freak out around then because all my symptoms disappeared but it's very normal - something about the placenta taking over. They'll be back in a few weeks!

B2B that's so crap! You should have denied it all just to embarrass him/her and then walked away crying that you were just overweight

Am I the only one craving crisps then Hmm?

Had nuchal today, well within the range so hoping that's a good sign. Have to pick up blood tests in a week which will confirm things so fingers crossed!
Littl'un was rolling about all over the place and giving the doctors a really hard time!

vallinnapod · 26/01/2011 17:07

Thanks milano - 8 weeks tomorrow. Read something similar, bit early for that but I am sure all is fine. Stoopid worrier!

So glad all good with the nuchal and that you have a real wriggler on your hands!

I have the crisp cravings hugely but they have to be the really cheap sort! Space Invaders spicy and BBQ flavours are the crisp of choice, and at 25p a pop a good budgeting item Grin if only I could track down some Tangy Toms...10p when I was at school but I'd happily stretch to at least 20p Wink

milanomum · 26/01/2011 17:31

yum yum and do you remember 'meanies'? in a little lime-green bag 5p each... Would KILL for them right now!!

Dynababy · 26/01/2011 19:37

mmmmmm Meanies, you can still but them in Ireland for some reason but haven't seen them in the UK for aaaages! I brought a multi-pack back from Dublin - I just couldn't do without when I clocked them in the supermarket!!

Cowboy I'm Envy - wish I was craving leeks and porridge instead of carbs, crisps and chocolate!

Milano good new on the nuchal scan, I'm still a bit Angry that the midwife forgot to sign my form so they couldn't do it .. did say it was thin but would have been nice to get official measurement! I'm geting blood work done for downs next week. They took four vials last time, wonder how much they will have taken by the time of delivery!!?

Baby2B your colleague sounds like a right arse! Hope you gave them a piece of your miind!

I bought more maternity gear online, arrived today so going to go and have a look! I think I just had to do it as I normally satisy the urge to shop regularly and have been a bit heartbroken when walking round the shops unable to buy all the lovely things cos I know I won't be able to fit into them soon!!

Baby2b · 26/01/2011 21:25

Space invaders...yum! Need to purchase some tomorrow. Feel like I collect a new craving each time I come on here [bgrin]

Just got offered a seat on the tube Shock. I can't look pg yet? Got all embarrassed and refused, but said thanks.

vallinna my symptoms really come and go, especially the sore boobs. Please don't worry.

milanomum · 26/01/2011 21:44

B2B
next time - Take. the. seat. You won't get any offers when you're 8 mnths pregnant!

cowboylover · 26/01/2011 21:52

Nomore- Your typos are the best!

On the sympoms front I am the same and honestly can say today if I was not looking huge I wouldnt be any different than normal me.

BrassicaBabe · 27/01/2011 09:23

Morning!

Yeah for all the good scan results! Although I'm finding it a scarily long time to wait between the 12 and 20 week scans Hmm. (I'm currently 14.5 weeks)

Hmm..food! Enjoying the food talk! Grin I'm eating about every 2 hours. So I'm sticking to small meals. I've got quite a thing for McDonalds Hamburgers Hmm 2 Hamburgers are about 500 calories. So could be worse..

Off to google American Apparel to see if there is anything appropriate for a 37 year old size 12 moving to size 14 preggers women.... ShockHmmGrin

takethatlady · 27/01/2011 09:26

Oh no vallinna I bet you you'll be dunking your head into the loo like you're a toilet brush quite soon. I had a couple of days around 8/9 weeks where I suddenly had no symptoms at all. Totally panicked, only to start spraying puke a couple of days later Grin

Congrats milano on your scan. Wahey! baby2b I'm sure you don't look preggo yet - was it a man who offered you his seat? He probably just fancied you Wink

Feeling quite put out I've never had a meanie. Space Invaders okay, but it's Discos, Pringles and those salt and vinegar Squares I want.

Actually had a healthy day yesterday - 2 clementines, a banana, 5 cherry tomatoes with lunch, and a chicken salad for dinner with crunchy mixed leaves, half a red pepper, half a cucumber, and half a bunch of spring onions all chopped up. I haven't had my 5 a day for soooo long! (I did also eat about 30 chocolate biscuits though).

Anyone given up caffeine entirely? I don't drink fizzy but I love tea. Gave it up for ttc (not alcohol, just tea Wink) and the first 12 weeks, but am back to a couple a day now. Feeling a bit guilty ...

takethatlady · 27/01/2011 09:30

Oooh cross-post bb . 14.5 weeks already! Congrats! It feels like ages between 12 and 20 weeks - do you have a mw appointment at 16 weeks? That breaks it up a bit and you can ask to hear the heartbeat :)

I have also eaten more McDonalds since pregnancy than I've had since I was a teenager. I like the McChicken Sandwich (for the mayo, though I did once hear that disgusting story everyone tells about male McDonald's workers filling the mayo with their own special ingredient, which I try to block out). And I like the fillet o'fish. But I've also been having the odd cheeseburger. And chips. And chocolate milkshake. And once a mint mcflurry.

Mmmm ... I've got no food in the house for tonight and DH will be out. Big M it is :)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/01/2011 09:57

Ergh McCrap talk so early in the morning .

I had a very unhealthy day yesterday, with chips and dip making their merry way down my throat. They later made their merry way back up my throat, so it all evened out to an okay day. I do love the random vomits just when you think you're in the all clear GrinHmm

20 week scan this afternoon. I'm looking forward to it because DH gets to take part for a change. Not finding out the sex though.

takethatlady · 27/01/2011 10:13

ttl dives into cheesecake face first, watches it explode all over her, and forgets to wish nmcb good luck for her scan today :)

vallinnapod · 27/01/2011 10:31

Thanks for the reassurance my lovelies! Spoke to the clinic who said as long as I wasn't bleeding I was just being an insane nut job all was fine. I really wanted to go in for a scan (part with £200 and everything) but I actually felt too embarassed at my owen paranoia by the end of the call Blush Still have a scan at 9 weeks with them in exactly 7 days and 43 minutes...

I lied to you all yesterday, it's not Space Raiders but Transformer Snacks. I nearly cried as I appeared to have eaten the shop out of stock they have sold out!! DH bought me a Monster Munch multipack but it really wasn't the same...

BB - GL in American Apparel...aim for an XXL and you might get an arm in, as well as a dirty look from the size 0 16 year old shop assistant Grin

Ahhhh, to be offered a train seat...sorely tempted to wear a 'Baby on Board' badge!!

TTL I have completely given up caffeine. I rarely drink it in any form other than Diet Coke - but I used to drink that 4 or 5 times a week and I really miss it! I have always drank a lot of green tea but have no read it inhibits the absorption of folic acid, typical Confused so now down to a cup of that, a couple of mint teas and hot water. Coffee is one strong smell I am absolutely adoring at the moment though. Has to be a proper strong Americano...mmmmmmm.

NMCB - hope all goes well at the scan! You have far more self-restraint than I do. I can't wait to find out what our Pod is!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/01/2011 11:08

PMSL at you TTL. Sorry ladies so much for that cheesecake then Grin

Vallinna The local NHS don't tell you the sex so even if my resolve wavered anymore they just won't tell me. It is a bit hard when everyone else around here is finding out though.
Also pleased to hear you've been properly reassured. The next 7 days and what ever minutes will fly by.

BB had been wondering where you'd got to. 14.5 weeks! Whoop, welcome to the second trimester Grin

vallinnapod · 27/01/2011 11:18

I forgot some NHS trusts don't....I hope ours does, I can imagin DH will be less than impressed if I tell him we are off for ANOTHER private scan...(typed 'scam' first off...something in that!) Although I do fancy a nice 4D scan at the appropriate point...

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 27/01/2011 13:09

Hello everyone, may I slink back in? Have absented myself for a while due to superstitious worrying over this pregnancy, but had scan today and all appears to be well - one baby waving at us from the screen :) Am very relieved.

What's going on with everyone else then? NMCB good luck with your 20 week scan today.
