Olsfool: I am so sorry to hear that your news is not good. I really hope that you are now well taken care of at your local hospital. I do think that you should try to contact your EPU but if you don't have any success then at least you know that you already have a scan booked for later in the week that will force them into action.
Take care of yourself. It must be so hard not telling your children...

RosiePosie · 30/08/2005 08:12

I'm really sorry, OF. I hope it all gets resolved soon. xx

Lizzylou · 30/08/2005 08:35

Have not been on here for a while.Still waiting for a scan appointment.Hospital and gp have messed up.Must be at least 13 wks and had a miscarriage before getting pg.Starting to get really stressed about it.
sorry to hear your news OF.Hope you are doin ok.
Hope everyone else ok.

munz · 30/08/2005 08:54

oh pop - get down there and see if u can't have one earlier, u must be 13 weeks by now thou.

OP posts:
poppyh · 30/08/2005 09:13

yeah,i keep ringing the hospital and gp.at first they kept passing the buck about whose fault it is.i think they are finally sorting it out though!Grrrrr

munz · 30/08/2005 09:14

well who's fault is irrelevant really it's u getting the scan that matters (and booked into the m/w)

OP posts:
poppyh · 30/08/2005 09:14

By way munz i like the name Jacob.Im thinking of Jude or Esme (though DH hates Esme!)

poppyh · 30/08/2005 09:15

see midwife next tues.

munz · 30/08/2005 09:19

well that's something, hopefully u'll ahve ur scan at the same time - althou down here u have to see the m/w b4 u have the scan. can't wait till tomorrow for mine.

Esme is a nice name - not keen on jude - had a bad experience with a Jude once (girl) she tried it on with DH in front of me - not normally bothered but well she lives opposite us I was next to DH and she put her no in his phone and said ring me - what a cow.

Poppy - I know what you mean about the waiting. I have got my scan on the 8th, I will be 13+6 then and feel it is really late. Am also worried as I still cannot find a heartbeat with my doppler. Can anyone tell me if I am being silly or should I definately be able to find it by now? (12+4 today)

munz · 30/08/2005 09:24

jack - dep on the type of doppler I think. which one do u have?

OP posts:
coppertop · 30/08/2005 09:28

Just had a look in the book the MW gave me and it says you might be able to hear the heartbeat by Doppler from about 14 weeks.

I can't believe you lot are all so organised, choosing names and thinking about pelvic floor exercises already!

poppyh · 30/08/2005 09:29

Im going to ring hospital again today.Enjoy your scan Jackstini.
Munz, youve put me off Jude now!!I must admit with Jude Laws antics my Dh is put off too.

Jackstini · 30/08/2005 09:49

It is an MAS Baby Watcher. Says on back can work from 12th week of pregnancy. Maybe I am just being panicky. First time pregnant so no idea what I am listening for!

Lizzylou · 30/08/2005 09:59

I have my scan tomorrow afternoon, I will be 13 +2 then and can't believe how long they make you wait! That will be my first proper appointment...except for "booking in" with the midwife...cue lots of bad dreams tonight...........

RosiePosie · 30/08/2005 11:20

Jackstini, I think I have the same doppler - will just go and check. . . . yes, same one. I've heard the heartbeat since about 11 weeks, but I think I've just been lucky. Sometimes, I can't find it even now ( am 14 weeks now ). I think it depends a lot on position of baby, shape of womb etc. Tips: use quite a lot of the gel, and try it on a full bladder. When I've not found it, if I have a big drink and try again 10 minutes later I usually find it. Angle the probe downwards and try low down, just above your pubic line. Please don't panic about it, I think I've just been really lucky, I'm sure it's normal to not find it until atleast 14 or so weeks.

Lizzylou · 30/08/2005 11:22

All those with Dopplers...how much are they and where do you buy them from?

RosiePosie · 30/08/2005 11:23

Another thing to consider is that I'm probably finding it more easily because this is my third and my stomach muscles are shot to pieces. Have you found your heartbeat yet? Yours should be about 70 bpm I think, the baby's is about twice as fast, usually 140-160 bpm, sounds a bit like a train. Sometimes I find mine and the baby's at the same time which is a bit confusing. I often find the baby's for a few seconds and then lose it again, it's really hit and miss at the moment.

RosiePosie · 30/08/2005 11:24

Lizzylou, got it from Ana Wiz on eBay - cost about £70.00 - they're usually about £130 I think! Planning on selling it on afterwards.

Lizzylou · 30/08/2005 11:25

Thanks RP

RosiePosie · 30/08/2005 11:27

Sorry for all these multiple posts. I'm so obsessed with food at the moment. My sickness has almost eased off now, but I just feel so hungry all the time. Having a really expensive craving today - sundried tomatoes, black olives and parma ham, all chopped up and eaten together. Had to make a mad dash to Sainsbury's this morning to stock up

swiperfox · 30/08/2005 11:33

Hi everyone

Has anyone heard from oldfool? Hope she's ok.

I still feel incredibly sick and am having a nightmare with food. All of a sudden I will crave something and have to have it there and then! Nothing specific really - bit of anything and everything! I'm still craving sweet things so am trying to eat grapes and fool myself into believing that the fruit sugar is proper sugar! I'm also getting addicted to orange lucozade to ease off the sickness.

Nights are terrible!! When I go to bed I feel about 6 months pg!! I have to lie on my side and it feels soooo uncomfortable. Hopefully at 12 weeks it'll all pass...... fingers crossed!!

RosiePosie · 30/08/2005 11:37

Hang on in there swiperfox. I was and still am to a degree, addicted to orange lucozade - it really helped me get through the day. Trying to wean myself off it a bit now though!
