Oh bless! Get well soon!!!

desperatehousewife · 21/09/2005 10:42

oh lizzylou you poor thing. There's something so horrid about feeling pants when you're preg - i guess cos you can't take anything for it. lots of hot drinks and snuggling under duvet for you my girl.

not feeling sick anymore (thank god) but have insatiable appetite at moment. Could eat several horses at a time I think!

newgirl · 21/09/2005 12:04

Hello ladies!

Munz - I tried to find the lovely christopher eccleston but no luck. They had finished filming. BUT I did have the sauciest dream about him last night!!! We met in a coffee shop and went to his penthouse apartment and well, the rest is between me and CE!!!! I was very perky with DH this morning hee hee - I think my hormones are changing!!!

I can also recommend the H&M tights DHW - bargain!! Got nice knickers and bra there too - bra was £7.99 in a D cup but no good for the curvy ladies as they didn't have many sizes. Got those feeding clips though for later.

Got some bargains at the NCT sale on Saturday - I bought maternity clothes - next ones - immaculate - all £1.50 each. Trousers and cardigans. And a new changing mat for £2.

poppyh · 21/09/2005 12:51

LL, sorry youre not feeling very well, hope it passes soon.
Munz, still feeling very sick, normally every evening.Taking small sips of orange lucozade which helps though. Was hoping to feel better by now though.Hey ho, nevermind!!

munz · 21/09/2005 13:23

RP - nappies came - arn't they fab?? quick Q thou a) how do u get the runny pop off the liner when it's fixed in? and b) what do u do with the built in booster thingy? any ideas? - perhaps should do a thread for misdee.

dhw - good to see u about honney.

LL - hope u're feeling better soon.

CB - how's ur day going so far?

Re. nappies - runny newborn poo is usually inoffensive and washes away easily - just bung it all in the bucket and the washing machine will deal with it. When the poo gets more solid ( if using formula or when on solids ) I use a paper flushable liner or shower head it all straight down the loo. Fleece lined nappies ( like fluffles ) I don't bother with a liner, unless I'm expecting a poo from my 22 month old, then I pop a paper one in. The booster, just fold where the nappy gets most wet - usually in the middle for a girl, to the front for a boy.

Are you sitting there cuddling them?

munz · 21/09/2005 14:36

erm, no althou I did have to take them all out and have a good look and touch of them - they're soooo soft! lol. did u cuddle urs? lol.

was thinking - as i've bought the additional liners (12 for £10 I think it was) might just put one of those in then flush the loo as someone else suggested.

got a scan date as well - 19th oct.

Day going so so, got a load of paperwork stuff done this morning and managed to tidy up[ teh kitchen. This afternoon shopping not brilliant though. Main aim was to get some mat trousers to wear to work - NOTHING. Was so unimpressed. We've got an Outfit here which has dotty p's, top shop, principles, miss selfridge and a couple of others - absolutely sod all there humph. Am going to go and try town centre now and see if there's anything there. We've got a H&M and aparently there's quite a lot of mat stuff in our new dotty p's so will go and have a gander - after the shopping trip just gone though I won't get my hopes up.

Lizzylou · 21/09/2005 15:06

Chellebelle, have you tried Ebay? There was loads on there when I last looked
Last time round I got great work trousers from Next Directory which I will be digging out again, stuff from H&M (some stuff is trash to be honest, but keep going back as they refresh the stock regularly), Dotty P's, and Bloomin Marvellous and a few brill and cheap things from Asda...but our local Asda doesn't do maternity...

chellebelle · 21/09/2005 15:10

Will go on a mission and see what I can find. How are you feeling now? Any better?

Lizzylou · 21/09/2005 15:11

Lots thanks, have had nice day in bed reading and snoozing! Rang in sick and DS is in nursery...god what bliss! Kool n Soothe and a cup of tea can work wonders....

Frizbe · 21/09/2005 16:37

Hello you nappy hugging looneys glad to see most of you are having a good day!
see my other thread for dd and the wetwipes today....argh!
well have also been into local dp's today to inquire where maternity line has gone, well its gone for good apparently! nearest one is Nottm! and its only in the main store there, and guess what girls, you've guessed it, its downstairs, with no lift access for the public! great when you have a buggy in tow...not....I love to see a business that thinks about it customers....am going to join hotmama off the feb thread in complaining to them, dozey arse's....

Also had fun with the cat today....it has antibiotics! for gingivitis (SP) anyway thought I'd gotten a pill down its throat ok last night, gave him a nice cuddle afterwards, all seemed ok, didn't try to regurgatate it, no sign of it in mouth etc....go outside this morning and luckily get to pill just before dd, who'd also spotted it lying on floor just outside door.....and I have to go thru this rigmarole twice a day.....needless to say, same pill was rammed unceremoniously down cats throat again this am! this time I've kept him in and locked in utility until I was sure it's stayed down, argh!

and then for my final moan.....I've got lots of horrible shooting pains in my back going down into my bum from my pelvis, arghhhhhhh just one of those days I guess ing and bearing it.

Frizbe · 21/09/2005 16:37

Lizzy lou glad to see your feeling better hun {{Hugs}}

RosiePosie · 21/09/2005 17:12

erm. . it's just me who hugs nappies apparently

Only when they are brand new and freshly delivered by the postman though!

Speaking of which, the postman ( who I'd never seen before ) opened my front door this morning and called out "hello?" - How dare he come into my house without knocking or ringing! I was so shocked! Bit weird, if you ask me. . .shall keep the door locked from now on.

I'm a bit coldy and miserable myself today, with a bit of an upset tummy ( sorry if TMI!) but atleast my morning sickness has gone. Hope you're feeling even better tommorrow LL.

munz · 21/09/2005 18:29

lol - rp - well ahem I do like the feel of brand new ones on my cheek lol. DH has just tried it out on a teddy and is v impressed with them, althou we've both decided we're not keen on the white wraps (plain white) so might see if someone wants to do a swopsey. all around v pleased today.

friz -read about ur DD - u gotta love em! lol.

OP posts:
munz · 21/09/2005 18:30

oooooo and RP - don't worry bout the postie - outs does it as well sometimes, but only if it's the one I know from work, and the doors open - althou once one of them left a packet in the hallway (about 2 meters or so inside the door - was a bit unhappy about that one)

Hope everyone good today.
Am tired this morning.Decided to stat up and watch Lost as Dh on nights.DD decided to wake up too, (I think she also has a crush on Sawyer!!)
She didnt go back to sllep till midnight!

Zephyrcat · 22/09/2005 10:29

Hi all! Have finally got my docs appointment today - at 11 weeks!! Going to tell him a lie and say I don't know how far I am to see if it kicks them into letting me see someone sooner than another month!! Have had a bug I think so night before last was up being ill till 2am so am now even more knackered than usual! I really haven't got the energy to do anything at all at the mo - I want to lie on the sofa and sleep all day long!
DP got offered another job within his company this week - just when I thought he was getting out - typical. So he's going to try it for a month and see how it goes. I think he's mad!!!

Good to see everyone doing well

newgirl · 22/09/2005 10:37

Hello poorly girls - lots of tlc for you!

poppy - I might be going to nct sale in harpenden this sat - is the same one? lots of posh bargains there!!

munz - i am so impressed by you and dh practising your nappies - my dd was 2 days old before I plucked up courage!

chelle - jojomamanbebe website was good for smart trousers last time I looked - not that many but they do free postage and packaging which i think is good so you can try them on or order a few and see what looks ok. i think mumsnet has a link too so you get 10% off or even more.

byeeee

poppyh · 22/09/2005 11:15

Newgirl, im going to an NCT sale in kent.Just when I thought there might be one person on the March thread who lives near me!!
Hope to get some maternity wear actually as its now official.NONE of my clothes fit me!!

Frizbe · 22/09/2005 15:05

Hi all, happy shopping at your nct sales, I must look one up around here!
Zephyr, will dh get paid anymore at his 'new' job? if not remind him how pants it is and get him out!!

Zephyrcat · 22/09/2005 16:48

I never knew about NCT sales - they sound brill though! How do you find out where they are?

Just come back from the docs. I am sooooooooooooo useless and soooooooooooo pathetic!! Went in there all ready to put up a fight but he was sooooooooo sweet I didn't!!!! So - this is where it gets confusing - I think we concieved on 19th July which makes us due around 10th April (hopefully end March for cs). The original doc I saw wrote down the last period date that I knew for definate which makes me due on 17th March (which I know is wrong). Doc had a feel and agreed with my dates, making me 11+2 weeks. HOWEVER! On the computer they are sticking to the wrong dates which makes me 14/15 weeks. He said the midwives would probably stick to that date for my scan and if it's way out i'll get a rescan when I really am 20 weeks!! What a nightmare!!!! So now I have my midwife booking in appointment on 13th October - when according to their dates i'll be nearly halfway through the flipping pregnancy!!!!

Am so glad this is my last ever pg!!!!!!!

DD said the funniest thing though - I told her I was going to see the doc about us maybe growing another baby and she was saying she wanted to get a girl. I thought no more of it. On the way out I made my appt and said to her "come on let's go" She refused to move and shouted "But Mummy we didn't get our baby!" Bless her!!

RosiePosie · 22/09/2005 16:59

How confusing for you ZC - I'd go mad if I didn't know exactly how pg I was. Atleast the doc was a sweetie though. Bless your dd - how old is she?

Zephyrcat · 22/09/2005 17:07

Ooh brill thanks RP

Just been trying to figure out dates - it is driving me mental!!

According to the wrong dates they will think I'm 20 weeks on 28th Oct so will hopefully get a scan then. In the real world I'll be 16+3 on the 28th Oct so they will be 4 weeks out and hopefully give me another scan!! Still don't understand why they leave it all so late tho! Oh well.

DP's job sounds slightly better. He will get paid 170.00 a week basic - which is 170 more than he was getting!! Then for the first two people he gets on the course he gets another 75.00 then 100.00 for every person after that. It sounds good but then so did the money they said he'd make selling!! He's going to give it a month because he's got over 1000.00 in wages due in 2-3 weeks which if he leaves now he won't get for around 2 months!!

poppyh · 22/09/2005 20:51

ZP, Im not sure exactly what your situation is due to your dates, but I wasnt sure of my dates either.Has anyone talked about giving you a dating scan? This clarifyed it for me but I do know it depends where you live.Hope it sorts itself out anyway.
