We have been matched with a little boy at long last and I am going to be a mum. He is less than a year old and in his photos he is absolute adorable. Hopefully he will be living with us from early May.

Some people may have noticed that I haven't been on Mumsnet very much recently (or maybe not), mostly because I've been working like mad trying to get all my projects handed over before I go on adoption leave. I've also been turning the study into a nursery and buying everything that a small boy will need, along with a million things he'll probably never use. However I expect that will change and I will be on Mumsnet every nap-time asking all sorts of questions and irritating everyone by never searching the archives first.

So pleased that you and branboy have found each other. Enjoy these times together and happy family moon!! Let us all know how you get on.

Merlin · 20/04/2005 15:19

That is so lovely Bran - good luck with your new lovely little boy.

bran · 20/04/2005 22:09

We met him today. He is very smiley and cuddly and we sat on the floor and played with him for over an hour.

It still doesn't seem quite real, I've spent so many years being slightly envious of my friends' lovely children that I kept finding myself thinking "I wish I could have a child this gorgeous", and then had to remind myself that I do.

You will have your very own Bran Flake, so very happy for you.

I will say a small prayer for you on Sunday, if that is OK with you.

God bless

RTKangaMummy · 20/04/2005 22:22

BROWNY · 21/04/2005 12:47

Oh Bran, you do sound so happy! Your new son sounds a little sweetie - I'm so happy for you. My little boy will be one next month and he's at such a lovely stage - making us laugh with his funny faces, giving big sloppy kisses out (well, licks really), and he loves to be on my knee having a bottle and cuddle! You are so going to love it - hoping next week comes very quickly for you!

nappybaglady · 21/04/2005 13:30

haven't been on MN for a while because I've been busy. Was having a quick lunchtime lurk but this thread has made me come out of lurkerdom. Fab news. Have a wonderful time getting to know your little boy. I love Branboy as a name (sounds v healthy)

Yes he's here, he arrived for good on Wednesday and dh and I are happily exhausted. It's remarkably like having a new puppy, he's always eating, sleeping, pooing or chewing something he shouldn't be and my carpets and clothes are in a dreadful state. We're still at the stage of being more or less removed from society so that he attaches to us properly so all three of us have a touch of cabin fever, but Branboy and I met a friend and her baby son for a coffee this afternoon which really brightened our day (don't tell the social workers though ).
