We have been matched with a little boy at long last and I am going to be a mum. He is less than a year old and in his photos he is absolute adorable. Hopefully he will be living with us from early May.

Some people may have noticed that I haven't been on Mumsnet very much recently (or maybe not), mostly because I've been working like mad trying to get all my projects handed over before I go on adoption leave. I've also been turning the study into a nursery and buying everything that a small boy will need, along with a million things he'll probably never use. However I expect that will change and I will be on Mumsnet every nap-time asking all sorts of questions and irritating everyone by never searching the archives first.

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 13/04/2005 16:34

Have they warned you about the 12 month to 12 year house destroying phase by the way?

bran · 13/04/2005 17:39

Are children messy and destructive fastasleep , how has this not been mentioned with all the adoptor training we had to do.

I've just logged in for a quick read before I leave work and I'm touched at everyone's kind thoughts and congrats.

I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in to all the really happening threads. At last I too can have an opinion on baby pasta and parent and child parking spaces, I may even get myself an au pair (and a silk rug for her to shag on ).
