oh that's good. i HATE labetalol, hub, it makes me feel dreadful. there are SO many better drugs for high bp imo and ime.
if the maternity hospital has prescribed them they simply will not have any experience of anything other than nif and lab, it was amazing. i had to beg for ramipril, and only got it cos my bp consultant is married to my gp so i was able to lobby him for it via the breakfast table.
so yes, where was i? yes, the maternity hospital, ask them about other drugs and they will eventually admit that they don't have much experience with post-eclampsia type stuff (not sure if that's the right term) and in fact they'd rather you bugger off the minute you've had the baby. if she's on labetalol they're treating her with a 70 year old drug.
