Ruby Rose Ann was born at home on 28/10/2007, planned homebirth......

8pm-first twinge...
8.10pm - called midwives
8.57pm-midwives arrive just as I deliver head
9pm- Ruby literally fell out and midwife caught her(i was standing up!)....
7lb 8oz (had been told to expect at least 9lb'er)

fast or what is this a mumsnet record or does anyone have a faster time????

malfoy · 15/11/2007 12:14

and you are just showing off, aren't you?

I am a bit bitter/jealous as I had contractions for 3 days and was only 2 cm dilated.

frangipan · 15/11/2007 12:15

thanks...we were a bit shell shocked and poor DH was frantic waiting for the midwives...bless him

largeginandtonic · 15/11/2007 12:19

WOW!! That was fast, i beat you though with 40mins like Ledogy. Wasa shock to the system!

Lovely name, very sweet. Hope you are both doing well.

CONGRATULATIONS!

frangipan · 15/11/2007 12:20

Oh and it was no less painful than the other 2 DC-once those contractions started they were mammoth and with no rest in between, and had those awful double peaked ones where just as you think you're coming out the other end of a contraction it intensifies again...so it really was a short sharp shock...still, DH and mum cleaned the bathroom up after, which, incidently, looked like there had been a masacre in there as there was no time for drop sheets/towels/inco sheets etc
