Dd3 Beatrice (Bea) born yesterday night at 10.15pm, she is divine but TINY (6lb 8oz Shock).

The birth was completely amazing, in the pool, at home with dh and my best friend in attendance as well as three of the most lovely midwives. Bea didn't cry at all, she slithered into the water, I lifted her up, she looked at me and nuzzled onto my chest and went back to sleep Smile.

Will post details later.

Feeling tired but very happy and relaxed with a tiny graze and AGONISING after pains. Bea is already feeding very well.

can't wait to hear all the details.
lots of love and SLEEP!!!

Blu · 27/04/2006 17:07

My bf was with me.
She was the sensible one, while DP faffed about uselessly.
How was your DH, Enid? Did he cope with the hippy-ness of the waterbirth, or did he just concentrate on managing the pool engineering?

Enid · 27/04/2006 17:08

did I mention how fab the pool was? cant believe I was a cynic beforehand.

had a tiny bit of gas and air but honestly didn't really need it. The combo of a best friend and a pool was fabby - started serious contractions at 6.30pm, spent an hour in the garden watching the sunset with a glass of wine then got in the pool at 8-ish. It was all very very mellow.

dh and I are a bit scared of Bea as she is so tiny and bears no resemblance to dd1 and 2. she has a very serious expression and some lovely fluffy blonde hair Smile.

The cord broke off the placenta so I had to deliver that naturally on the bed after - it was like the Somme in the bedroom at that point Shock.

cod · 27/04/2006 17:09

so she has seen your fanjo?

(worried look)

Enid · 27/04/2006 17:10

no it wasnt weird - she even had a look at the graze on my fanjo Shock

it wasn't planned that she was there - she was staying for a few days and Bea was a week early. When my waters went we both got ridiculously over excited and she decided to stay another day Smile
