Hi

Just wondered if anyone who has lost a parent would be able to give me some advise.

I have quite a few videos of my dad taken on holidays/outings along with the rest of the family etc. Can anyone tell me there experience of how long it will be before I can sit down and watch them without it upsetting me. I lost him in July.

I want to so much. I just want to feel closer to him in a way. But I'm worried it will make me feel worse than I do now. I still find it hard to look at his photographs sometimes.

Thanks

Anastasia74 I have just spent the weekend at my at my mams house where pictures of my dad, looking robust and healthy abound. I am occasionally haunted by a picture of me and dad taken only six weeks before he died - he looked terrible, even though he was smiling.

So, I just wanted to say that seeing him looking well in all those photos and being near all his stuff and his home was a real tonic, truly! . And is helps me immensely to keep his (healthy) memory alive...and not to dwell onhis loss. I think that seeing and hearing him in video would only help me even more. I really hope that it does for you too.

I hope that you find joy in seeing him in the videos. (And I hope that you let us know how you are when you do. )
