My husband has died

He died today. He was 42. He had recently been diagnosed with a heart condition and spent a month in hospital but we believed he was going to be okay. He went upstairs for a rest and they think he had a heart attack. He didn't cry out, they think it would have been fairly instant. I found him when I went to check on him a few hours later and I knew he had gone, I did CPR but I knew it was too late.

He was my soul mate, my other half, the true love of my life. We have a little girl who is almost 3. If it wasn't for her I would kill myself. I can't imagine life ever having any meaning without him.

Oh gosh I read your previous thread. I'm so so sorry, devastating 💐 take one day at a time for you and your beautiful little girl

cloudydays7 · 28/10/2020 22:00

So very sorry for your loss. We lost my sister in March this year, that was sudden and unexpected, it's been awful. My heart breaks for you. You will be ok though because you have to be for your little girl, you will find the strength somehow believe me. I ask myself now and in those early days how did I wake up and get out of bed in the morning but you will, you will be on autopilot for a long time but you will keep on going. 💕

SanJunipero · 28/10/2020 22:00

I'm so very sorry for your loss Thanks Right now you'll be in deep shock. I was widowed coming up for two years ago, and I remember those feelings of wanting to die myself; I couldn't imagine going on. But you will keep going my darling, one day, even one hour at a time. I hope that you have friends/family nearby to hold you in their love. Keep posting here; I found Mumsnet to be an incredibly supportive place in the aftermath of my loss.

Right now you just need to process things, but for the future, please know that there's an organisation called Widowed and Young, which is wonderful. It offers peer support, which can be invaluable.

Sending you so much love tonight xxx

Couldn’t read and not comment. I’m another voice among dozens who all are thinking of you and wishing you well. It’s a devastating loss, as PP say just take one hour at a time. Much love.

Bluebunny123 · 28/10/2020 22:08

So sorry that's horrendous I can't imagine what you are feeling right now Thanks please just remember it's ok not to be ok and take one day at a time even if you're just getting through the next hour. Thinking of you as your little one.
