How can this have happened?? She's a vibrant, warm, generous, loving person. She has a young daughter. This time last year we were excitedly planning our Christmas celebrations together. We drank wine and danced around her living room for hours. We laughed so much!

And now she will be gone. She has an awful, aggressive cancer that has stolen her beautiful heart and soul. She was only diagnosed 8 months ago! Why her?? Why now??

Sorry this has happened OP. Life is very unfair sometimes. Try and hold onto those precious memories of happy time with your friend. It's all we can count on in the end. Flowers

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. Last year I too spent with my best friend, alive and vibrant, and she too passed away this year. I can only send you love and thoughts, as it is a difficult and heart breaking time. Hoping you have friends and family to grieve with and work together to support her family. My thoughts go out to you.

itsjustmehere · 21/12/2018 12:06

I'm so sorry. I usually just lurk but couldn't read this and not comment. There are no words that can help really. Life can be so cruel. I will be thinking of you, you friend and her daughter today.

Bliss3333 · 21/12/2018 12:15

I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the pain you must be feeling.
I am sure that she would want you to miss her and express your grief. But I am also sure that she would want you to focus on the love and friendship and to think of her often with happiness. Write your happy memories and loving feelings down in a letter to her daughter. She will appreciate it and I am sure that your friend would be very grateful.

ChristmasLightLover · 21/12/2018 17:11

We are here if you want to tell us about her and your life and adventures together. This is the shittiest of shit situations. I am so sorry. We're all in the same boat, so please write whatever you want here. Bless you.

anniehm · 21/12/2018 17:36

So sorry, life can be so cruel. Try to focus on the life she had before she got sick, think of positive memories, and in the months and years to come you can share what a wonderful person she was with her dc. Take careThanks

Pandasarecute · 21/12/2018 20:10

I'm so sorry to read this, I posted a few weeks ago about my friend passing away. It's very hard, look after yourself Thanks

WisestIsShe · 21/12/2018 20:16

op I'm so sorry. Life is a fucking bitch. The is no rhyme or reason. It's even worse because of the time of year, but try to think of it being an end to her pain. Try to take comfort from the good times, the joy she shared in her too short life.

Thank you so much everyone. She passed away at 3pm. They stopped the ventilator but she couldn't breathe on her own for very long. She had her family at her bedside. The hospital were great with her dd, they took casts of her hands and both their hands together.

It feels surreal. Like she'll just message me asking if I want to pop round.
