This special thread was started in 2008. Its a special place - one which nobody would ever willingly come to. I hope we pay tribute to our lost children by helping each other. xxxx

'All hail' to the mighty 'iron medicine!!!' Grin Went to see my parents yesterday. Dad has only been taking the medicine since Friday and the difference is incredible.......he was bright eyed, a much better 'colour' and chatting away!!! Dad never, ever talks about poo!!! Grin he said 'These last few weeks I have had the runs...really bad...this morning I did a semi solid one!!' ROFL. My Mum was serious faced and nodding in agreement with him!!!

Just wanted to send my best wishes to you all for Christmas and the New Year. I feel calmer this year, happier in some ways and better able to face this week. I still yearn for her but it is not as all encompassing. Much love to us all xx

Christmas went OK. Took Mum a full xmas lunch and made Dad some turkey broth. Mum rang yesterday and said her kitchen was a mess and could I help her clean it up - she hadnt touched any of her xmas lunch but Dad had eaten quite a bit of his broth Sad think we are going into the next phase of Alzheimers with Mum - she keeps getting very, very angry and cannot remember things I have just said to her. Not great getting old is it? xx

Oh, shabs, I think that happens when people get confused. They lash out and unfortunately the ones who are closest to them end up in the firing line. Getting old sucks xx

AND she remembered I hadn't got her a birthday card for Gareth as well Sad I was going to start explaining and I just thought 'oh shut up Shabbs' She did get angry with me and I said I would sort it out.

I just held her and said 'you must be so frightened that you cant remember things Mum.' We had a talk and she was OK afterwards xx

Morning girls..... and so begins another day of pining on a smile. Think that New Years Eve is far worse than Christmas. Here's hoping it will be gentle on all of us. Am going to a party at my friends house. Just sat here thinking I dont want to go at all and then realising that there will be 3 sets of bereaved parents there........so will be taking my box of pin on smiles with me to share around.

Hope you are all 'doing OK' - whatever the hell 'OK' is!! xx
