This special thread was started in 2008. Its a special place - one which nobody would ever willingly come to. I hope we pay tribute to our lost children by helping each other. xxxx

Not too bad at all love.

Tom spent the afternoon with my parents. Took his Grandma out for an hour (we had a very sunny afternoon) they walked to the horse riding stables near their house and went to have a look at Toms friends horse. He knows exactly what is wrong with his grandparents and is busy 'making memories' with them. He also knows, without being told, how hard it is for his grandad to be so ill himself and have to spend all day with his gran who has Alzheimers.

It touches my heart when I watch my sons spend time with my parents. I am a very lucky Mum to have so much love in my family xxx

That would be touching, watching them together, Shabba. Your Tom truly sounds like an amazing, sensitive and kind young man.

I think I have been very lucky with my sons. Tom asked me yesterday exactly what had happened with Matt. He has always 'known' but never known the exact details IYKWIM? When I told him he was quiet and said 'That must have been heart breaking Mum.'

He said he feels weird that he never met his two older brothers. Sad

Morning. Hoping that yesterday passed gently for everlong and giraffes.

Shabba - wow, was that a difficult conversation with Tom, or did you feel "glad" (although that is not really the right word) that this was an opportunity to bring Gareth and Matt into Tom's world? I guess I will have a similar conversation with Finn one day.

shabbatheGreek · 07/11/2013 08:29

'Glad' is the perfect word Mias.

I have pictures everywhere in the house, of all my lads, but dont think I have ever told him about Matts accident. Tom was saying that one of the lads he goes to college with is getting a bike for Xmas so he can cycle there every day and save on busfare.

I just said 'I would rather carry you on my back to college than you cycle in!!' Once we had talked about Matts accident he got 'it!!' xx

There is an old cot in ds3 and ds4's room, which we would have used for Sylvie-Rose but she never got beyond her little Moses basket.
It has ended up as a dumping-ground for clothes and toys so we have been clearing it out.
When I left the room, ds4 said to ds3, "We might need the cot for Sylvie-Rose"
Ds3 told him, no, because Sylvie-Rose died.
And ds4 said "But her soul might come into the cot!"

shabbatheGreek · 07/11/2013 23:24

......and I reckon DS4 may be right!! xx

Children are amazing - totally amazing - they see things in black or white and we, as adults, wallow in the 'if only', 'what if I had done this....' grey bit in the middle.

Tom has gone to watch WWE at Manchester Arena tonight....along with two good friends. He saved the full amount of the ticket money - and it wasn't cheap....along with some spending money and travel. Its his first time into Manchester without us and the first time he has ever been on a train without us. I know he is 16 but I feel worried sick.

Great thing is that one of the lads who is with them - Matt - has got the three of them a lift home with his Uncle - so they dont have to do the packed train journey home. Hope he has had a great time but have worried all night about him Hmm

They all had a great night - the lift home was much appreciated!!! Tom is just getting up for college and sounds like Barry White - think there was a lot of shouting going on Grin

Another hurdle on his journey to adulthood! He said it was scary waiting for the train but they did it!!
