16 week old hates his car seat ...

... any similar experiences? If so, how did you overcome or when did they grow out of it?

He literally screams in it all the time, no matter how fast the car goes. DS1 loved his car seat, fell asleep as soon as he was put in it, so this seems alien to me.

We haven't yet visited the in-laws, who live 250 miles away and I'm dreading the journey there. I'm hoping there's something I can do to stop him crying.

Thanks for reading.

Yes I think thats all just bad luck. Its hideous when they have cancelled trains and first class is full.

The gps have spare clothes as my MIL just goes out to the nearest charity shop and gets some bits in before we go - all the GPs (4 sets) get some nappies and wipes in with their weekly shops - even my aged father.

The car seat we paid for one of my MILs to have one - after all they have got 3 grandchildren now and so will get a lot of use out of it. And they have just had dd for nearly a week while we were away.

They 'cooperate' because they all retired and moved away down to the West country or Wales and so part of that decisionmaking is making concessions for people who come down and see them.

Saying all that we go to CP by train and have taken all we need for 2 adults and 2 dcs with us so it can be done.

Yeah, problem is we moved 4.5 hours drive away from family (work related - no choice) so they don't necessarily feel like they should be making the concessions.

Also, I have only done it on my own, not with DH. I suspect that would have made a big difference to amount that could be carried along with armful of baby!

God yes, on your own its a horror show. [sympathetic emoticon]
