My DD is a bit younger at 2.3.

She does not nap in the day really. Not potty trained and tbh am going to leave it till the summer.

She does not have a dummy (refused from birth) and drinks 3 beakers of milk a day but is dairy intolerant so is still on formula on prescription from hosp.

She goes to bed around 6.30ish....

MrsJohnDeere · 03/05/2010 16:06

2.2yo
no bottles (I switched him to cups at 12mo)
dummy at night time
sleeps in bottom bunk bed
wakes at least once for no obvious reason every night
sleeps from 8pm until 5.30/6am
seems to have given up napping, unless he falls asleep in the car
not potty trained - will attempt in summer hols when he'll be 2.5
behaviour - hard work! Lots of tantrums. Will not be constrained. Will not go in the pushchair or hold hands.

simpson · 03/05/2010 16:06

forgot to say she still sleeps in a cot in a sleeping bag at night and will put her into a toddler bed in the next couple of months...

She has her own room.....

Ds3 is 2y 7m.

He's never had a bottle or a dummy.

Sleeps in his cot though need to persuade him out of it in a couple of months to allow dd to move in. In his own room.

Naps a couple of hours in the afternoon maybe 4 out of 7 days.

Sleeps 12-13 hours overnight from ~ 1930h.

Not even thinking about potty training.

Laid back with a will of iron.

Big vocab but disfluency and pronunciation difficulties mean a SALT referral and Hanen group therapy.

Rindercella · 03/05/2010 16:15

DD1 is 2.8.

No dummies, no bottles - she's never had them.

She's slept in a full size single bed since a couple of days after her 2nd b'day. She hasn't had a daytime nap for ages - probably nearly a year. She sleeps from 7.30/9pm to 7.30/8am.

Not potty trained - I purposely delayed it until DD2 was born (she's now 5 weeks old) as I thought it was likely that she'd regress. Plan to tackle it in the next few weeks.

Behaviour - generally very sweet although prone to the odd tantrum and her volume levels have definitely increased since her sister's arrival!

mowcop · 03/05/2010 16:15

dd3 has no dummies (never took to them) and drinks from a Tommee Tippee beaker, but doesn't like milk to drink.

She sleeps for 2.5-3 hours in an afternoon in her cot and 6.20pm - 7ish am over night.
She likes her kip!

She point blank refuses to try the potty, but I am going to get going over the next few weeks with it.

Overall she is very cute and really chatty, but has a will of iron and can be really defiant.

waitingforbedtime · 03/05/2010 16:17

When ds was that age..

Bottle at night
No dummy
In cot
Sleep in day from 11-12/1
Newly potty trained
slept 8-6am

mowcop · 03/05/2010 16:17

Oh, she is 2.8 years old btw

Rindercella · 03/05/2010 16:17

Sorry - was meant to be sleeps from 7.30/8pm

mrsfred · 03/05/2010 16:21

DD2 is 2.8.

Would still have bottles if I let her, but I don't. Has milk at night before bed in a beaker.

Dummy at night time.

Still in cot because she doesn't want to change to a bed yet - she sleeps fairly well, so I don't want to push her. Sleeps from 7pm till 6.30-7am, waking once usually for lost dummy

Has just started preschool so is currently napping for a half-hour or so on the way home at lunchtime.

Has been dry and reliable for a couple of months and was dry at night from the first week. DD1 took ages to be reliable and is only just dry at night, aged 5.1.

Behaviour - Very independent and wilfull.

DD1 was very chilled out so we are finding DD2 more of a challenge

FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/05/2010 16:24

DS is 2.5

No bottles (or milk at all really)

Dummy in bed and when he digs one out of his secret stash during the day.

Sleeps in a bed at night, rarely naps but if he does it is usually in the buggy or on my lap. Sleeps 10 hours ish at night, sometimes a bit more. Still wakes up some nights.

Not potty trained but is usually naked at home and usually gets it in potty/toilet/whatever other container he fancies.

Behaviour- wilful, demanding, destroys everything, affectionate, cheeky, bouncy...

PatsyStone · 03/05/2010 18:40

Dd 2.8...

Never had bottle or dummy, drinks cows milk from a beaker.

She still naps for about 1.5hrs after lunch, she is intolerable if she misses this. At night she sleeps from 8ish until 7am doesn't wake in the night. She is still in her cot, I know she would not stay in a bed if she had the chance.

Not potty trained, but she is ready, it is me who is not ready; I'm waiting to finish uni for the summer, then it'll be all systems go.

She is very happy to keep herself busy, she is very chatty. She loves pre school and swimming, and she definitely knows what she wants. She is a pickle at dinner times though, I have no idea how she manages to be so energetic on such a small amount of food.

meandjoe · 03/05/2010 18:47

DS is 2.9.

No dummy but never had one. Still has one bottle day, 8 ounces of cows milk before bedtime (I SHOULD ADDRESS THIS SOON THOUGH!).

Sleeps from 7/ 7:30pm til around 6:30am. Still in a cotbed which I keep wanting to take the bars off to change into a bed but part of me doesn't want to because he has always slept so well at night and never attempts to climb out in the night. He has to have his 'blankie' (an old t shirt of mine cut in to a rag) in his hand and his beloved teddy bear in his cos to sleep.

Still has a nap around 1pm til 2:30pm. He naps on the sofa or in the pushchair, never in his cot. If he doesn't have a nap he strangely wakes up earlier in the morning cos he's over tired.

Is potty trained for wees and has been since he turned 2 but still asks for a nappy for poos, not really sure why but have been advised to just go with it and not force him etc. He knows poos are meant to go in the toilet but he can never seem to relax to actually do one there.

Personality... hmmmm. Very chatty, talks and asks questions constantly and I mean constantly! Seems very independant in some ways, wants to hoover up by himself, walk up and down stairs without holding my hand, constantly says 'I'll do it, I'll do it, I'll do it all by myself!' but then in many ways is still a baby. Can not dress himself etc.

Kathyjelly · 03/05/2010 18:53

Not quite 2.6 yet but.....

Three x 7fl oz bottles of fullfat milk a day, no dummy (never has had), sleeps in his cot but shortly moving to a bed because he can almost climb out, sleeps 9pm until 7.30am plus an hour during the day.

Haven't tried potty training yet. Dp has a nervous breakdown at mess so trousers covered in poo will reduce him to shuddering wreck. I'll wait until he goes to France for a couple of weeks in the summer and have a go then.

SweetnessAndShite · 03/05/2010 19:01

DS2 is 2.4 (nearly)

Never had a bottle or dummy but is a big thumb sucker and boob fiddler! (need to sort the boob fiddling!)

Sleeps in a cot in a sleeping bag and shares room with DS1 (5)

Still has a nap most days but not ready for it till about 3pm (or falls asleep when I'm cooking tea). Very awkward inbetween stage. Naps on sofa or in buggy/car.

Sleeps through sporadically. Sometimes wakes very early. Usually goes from 8pm-5.30am/6am but doesn't sleep so well at night if has had a late/long daytime nap.

Very talkative with wide vocabulary just like DS1. Can count, recognise numbers/letters and write own name!

Copies everything DS1 does/says.

Quite reasonable - odd tantrum but laid back and very sweet. Can be stubborn though

No real interest in potty training but knows when he is going to wee (seen him stop to look down when nuddy). In complete denial about poos and will flat deny doing one whilst red faced and grunting.

StrictlyKatty · 03/05/2010 19:08

DS is 2.3

Never had dummy or bottle

Hardly drinks milk, has it with cereal but that's really it

Sleeps 1-3 every day

Goes to bed 7.30pm and sleeps til around 7.30am

Lots of words, can easily make himself understood.

VERY VERY determined

No interest in Potty training sadly, hoping to start in the summmer.

StrictlyKatty · 03/05/2010 19:10

Oh and still sleeps in a cotbed

pud1 · 03/05/2010 19:12

dd 2.3

no dummies ( never had)
day time nap for 1 hour ish
has one 7oz bottle of cows milk befoer bedtime
sleeps in bed. always wakes at least once
potty trained in past month. is now having dry nights
bedtime is 7-8 wakes at 7ish
quite quick as she knows colours, shapes and counts to 20. but did not walk until 18 months

Lifeinagoldfishbowl · 03/05/2010 19:15

DC 2.6

Bottles - None gave these up at 11 months. Uses a proper beaker - no lids for drinks.

Dummy - Never had one - has a taggie - but this stays in bed and is only for bedtime

Where do they sleep - Cot bed from the age of 15 months.

Sleeps - 7pm-6.30am - may have between 40 minutes and 2 hours nap in the afternoon but can go without if no time to do so.

Potty trained - since 2.4, and dry at night.

Behaviour - inquisitive, funny, very clever/articulate (everyone mentions his speech) amazing tantrums - very strong willed lovely

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 03/05/2010 19:15

DD 2.9 now

Still has a bottle morning and - 2 lots of 9oz

Got rid of dummies last weekend (and regretting it really!)

No inclination towards potty training

Naps went the way of the dummies unfortunately

Been in a bed since just 2 (that was too soon too! She went from happily playing for a good half hour in the morning to demanding to get up at the gate as soon as she wakes!)

Can count almost to 20 (to 10 in Spanish thanks to too much Dora ), can do colours pretty well. She is lovely, and bright, but willful and obstinate, ignoring instructions, getting upset at ridiculous things when not getting her own way.

Always been good at independent play though wants us to get involved more

Fussy eater, though always been dexterous, eats prawns and chorizo but won't touch most veg. Loves crisps but won't touch cake or ice cream! Drinks watered down juice when she can get hold of it (about once a day), other than that water or milk.

ladyofshallots · 03/05/2010 19:33

dd 2.7

Still breastfeeding am and pm - never had a bottle, drinks out of open cup.

Never had a dummy. Is potty trained day and night, but this is a fairly recent development.

Is in a toddler bed at night but climbs into our bed sometimes.

Can count to 10, knows letter sounds (copying big brother) and knows all her colours and shapes.

Very wide vocab - uses words like 'properly' and 'though' in context!

Eats most things.

Currently driving me mad with a ripping, pouring, drawing on walls phase. Otherwise a lovely affectionate girl who can be clingy at times. Today she cuddled me and said: 'I love you very much, mummy.'

tryingtobemarrypoppins2 · 03/05/2010 19:35
