What makes your baby laugh?

It makes my day when my five month old dd laughs. So far, I have found blowing raspberries, funny faces and speaking in different accents makes her get the giggles.

What makes your little one laugh?

DS finds the word "genuinely" hilarious, has done since he was 6mo. I have no idea why. Or how we discovered this. But it still makes him giggle, 11 months later!

aloha · 15/07/2005 14:32

Prodding her tummy with my nose, pulling funny faces, making funny noises and throwing her (gently!) in the air. Oh, and nibbling her toes. She also laughs if you pull her to standing and then let her sit down rather suddenly.

my 16 month old loves peekaboo.. making me bark like an overexcited dog ( anything for a giggle) and farm animal noises.... also for some reason if he sneezes and I go 'oooooh sneezy pumpkin!!' that makes him laugh, he's not really tickly though

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 14:34

Pretending to srop him! Ooh he's always loved that..

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 14:34

drop!*

Kelly1978 · 15/07/2005 14:34

my twins are 4 mnths. One laughs when he is changed. The other laughes if I clap his hands really fast together. They both laugh for tickles or shouting at them. Yelling "monster" at them has them in fits.
Goin to have to try the accent idea!

Twiglett - not too sure what you mean but guess I deserve it with such a silly name

Just tried saying "genuinely" to dd and got a smile.

Mine's not really a baby anymore but ds3(2 in september) has been the most tickish baby I have ever encountered.

From about 5 months he would really chuckle, and now he does a really hearty laugh which is seems far to big for his little body.

We also discovered this morning that he thinks being pulled around the room sitting/lying on a blanket rather amusing too.

He's very easy to make laugh.

Twiglett · 15/07/2005 14:39

wombat really?? .. you've never heard that one??

oh joy of joys

anybody wanna do the punchline? anyone?

moozoboozo · 15/07/2005 14:40

genuinely works on my 7 month old ds too, as does being held upside down and me barking like a dog

W0MBAT · 15/07/2005 14:40

Not sure if I want to know the punchline but go ahead...

Twiglett you sad, sad individual... I'm so going to try 'genuinely' and possibly the silly joke as well

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 14:45

Hahaha! I said 'genuinely' and he smacked himself over the head! (Oh oops now he's crying!)

Flamesparrow · 15/07/2005 14:47

DD looked at me like I was insane with "genuinely".

Anyone falling over or hurting themselves she finds hilarious though!

Loves a good bit of slapstick.

W0MBAT · 15/07/2005 14:48

Have just said "genuinely" in loads of different accents, and it gets her everytime.

OP posts:
Twiglett · 15/07/2005 14:48

squeezing his thighs always used to get DS .. DD prefers tummy tickles

raspberries on bellies

leaning over her and letting my hair stroke her face

anything DS does .. especially peekaboo and hide the power ranger

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 19:18

Every sinlgy time I said 'genuinely' Theo slapped himself over the head! [confused emoticon!]

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 19:19

single* can't type today at all.
