What makes your baby laugh?

It makes my day when my five month old dd laughs. So far, I have found blowing raspberries, funny faces and speaking in different accents makes her get the giggles.

What makes your little one laugh?

PMSL at women all over the country saying genuinely to their babies (with varying results...!).

My DS had hysterics after peeing on me when I removed his nappy yesterday. I shrieked and he laughed the most I have ever seen him. Toilet humour at 4 months...

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 19:35

My DS howls with laughter when he pees on me!

NotQuiteCockney · 15/07/2005 19:36

DS2 (9.5m) loves having his thighs squeezed, particularly while I say "Squeezy thighs!". He laughs about almost anything DS1 does - particularly playing rolling games with balls.

Oh, and he loves going up and down stairs. He will giggle as I bump the pram up or down, and I tend to bounce him as we go down stairs, these days, as he loves it so much.

hunkermunker · 15/07/2005 19:39

DS also finds kitchen roll being ripped off the roll hilarious.

ruty · 15/07/2005 19:44

he laughs if i fart

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 19:44

Theo pulls a little face just like this if I fart and then goes 'oooh' as if something unpleasant's happened

ruty · 15/07/2005 19:46

which is obviously a rare occurrence. Funny faces make him laugh, peek a boo, tickling his toes, and tugging at the shower curtain and the telephone cable. ??

ruty · 15/07/2005 19:57

your boy has impeccable manners fast asleep!

fastasleep · 15/07/2005 19:59

He makes me blush! little tyke..

Magscat · 15/07/2005 20:05

DD (months) laughs when her brother (just gone 4) jumps up & down in front of her, especially if he goes out of her sight then 'pops' back again. She seems to think most things he does are wonderful!

SHe also laughs if I tickle her or if I make 'Eek eek' mouse noises at her. ALso sometimes 'Baa baa' works too.

charleepeters · 15/07/2005 20:12

DS (10months) likes to be tickled and he also finds it hilarious when he runs over he dog in his baby walker, he takes a run up and launches himself at him!

My elderly Aunt gave my 6 month old a beach ball. Hmmm, I thought. It'll store nicely I suppose. I blew it up a couple of weeks ago and gave him it, and it wasn't just laughter, it was proper belly laughs with gusto. Still laughs when we play with it, and I drop it on his belly and say "boing!"

Surfermum · 15/07/2005 20:19

She laughed her head off at me on the bouncy castle at Farmer Palmers today. I expect it was quite a sight.

Tinker · 15/07/2005 20:22

Just my face makes her grin atm (8 weeks old)

For 1st daughter saying "Islamabad" made her laugh

mandyc66 · 15/07/2005 20:57

ds4 just laughs all the time..maybe he is just a drooling idiot!!! my dd(12) makes ds3 laugh just by being silly!!!!

eidsvold · 16/07/2005 11:37

dd2 laughs at dd1 - no matter what she is doing... she thinks dd1 is hilarious.

Flum · 17/07/2005 00:24

when you do that raspberry on the tummy thing. that gets the most gorgeous chuckles.

fairycakes · 17/07/2005 00:52

blowing raspberries under her arms

screaming loouder than her

pouring water over her head in bath

roaring at her like a lion

(she is 10 months old)

Cratchit · 01/02/2006 14:57

Bump really - great for ideas...

Miaou · 01/02/2006 15:12

pmsl at "genuinely" - must try that on ds when he wakes up!

What makes him laugh - tickling on the tummy, tickling his feet, peek-a-boo, rubbing him vigorously with a towel after his bath, making a face and saying "oooo!", kissing him on the mouth (bless). He is 6m today.

cull · 01/02/2006 15:25

"biting" his chin and neck and going muh-muh-muh always works.
That seems alot wierder written down...

fishie · 01/02/2006 15:32

pinging a piece of elastic has him in fits of giggles. genuinely has just raised a little snigger.

lazycow · 01/02/2006 15:35

playing tug of war with a piece of cloth with him, especially when he 'wins'

Doing what he does - is he pushes toys along while walking on his knees, if I do the same he thinks it's hilarious.

putting his toys on my head and letting them fall off

He's 14 months BTW
