there was no room for my supervision at the office today and boss took me to costas. it was filled with mums meeting for a coffee and a chat. and i noticed my boss was getting slightly annoyed becuase he was really getting redder and his lips went thinner - i thought "shit" what have i not done?

then he said...and i quote "why do women bring their fcking screaming brats out to cafe's?"
it as at this point my brain recognised the sound of screaming babies - i didn't even register it previously!! and i said " what would you like them to do stay inside all day every day with post natal depression or something?"
he just replied rather annoyed " i like quiet and i think they seek me out and come for me on purpose"

fatmomma · 11/06/2005 00:15

What an arse!

unicorn · 11/06/2005 00:18

So your boss has no 'screaming brats' of his own then?

or perhaps he avoided the baby bit totally.. and basically hasn't a sodding clue@@!!!

lunarchick · 11/06/2005 00:24

grrr! yes all children must be hidden away in the home until they have mastered toilet training, self feeding and socially acceptable behaviour...especially in london!

Question is how can they afford the prices in Costa-lotta, My baby drinks far to much lattes maybe the decaf will stop him screaming so much .

fatmomma · 11/06/2005 00:37

Costa invidivual chocolate cheesecakes, yummity-yum [wanders off drooling emoticon]

Prufrock · 11/06/2005 08:11

For a second there I thought that was your opinion custy - well, I thought maybe you were pretending it was to liven things up.

I'm actually really annoyed with Costa - they have just opened 2 branches in my town, where previously the only coffee to be got was from a jar. Which would be a good thing, ifI wasn't bloody leaving in 3 weeks.

misdee · 11/06/2005 08:15

now which costa is this and what does your boss look like

purpleturtle · 11/06/2005 08:28

oooh yes, a meet-up could be arranged!

Pinotmum · 11/06/2005 08:33

Oh dear he's a paranoid little man isn't he? And he's in charge? God help your Company

eidsvold · 12/06/2005 10:32

because they have a right to be out and about. They seek him out - oh puhlease - the world does not revolve around HIM!!!!How far up one's own butt can one be!!

happymerryberries · 12/06/2005 10:37

And how the hell does he expect them to learn how to behave if they never go into cafe's etc???

Caribbeanqueen · 12/06/2005 11:28

Tell me where your boss goes and I'll make a point of seeking him out.

Mud · 12/06/2005 11:30

Grin Grin

Caligula · 13/06/2005 06:01

Er... 'cos they want a coffee?

suzywong · 13/06/2005 06:04

seems like it's a good thing he's keeping himself out of the gene-pool with an attitude like that

franke · 13/06/2005 06:59

If it wasn't for women with screaming brats drinking coffee, cafe culture would never have taken off in the UK. We'd all still be going down the Wimpy.

Berries · 13/06/2005 09:51

I was asked by a work colleague why people didn't leave their kids at home when they went shopping - must remember to get that kennel set up

fastasleep · 13/06/2005 09:52

Ahh and this is why I purposefully sit next to those stuffed suit types when DS is in a screamer of a mood it really cheers me up!

Caligula · 13/06/2005 09:53

I would like to point out that I do actually go to coffee bars with my kids solely in order to antagonise pin-striped men.

If the kids aren't screaming, I bash them so that they do. The coffee-shop trip just wouldn't hold the same enjoyment otherwise.

dejags · 13/06/2005 09:56

PMSL laughing at Marslady's "tiny little mind" indeed.

fastasleep · 13/06/2005 09:58

Caligula I thought it was just me!

handlemecarefully · 13/06/2005 10:01

I'm just getting a mental picture of you Custardo of trying to suppress your irritation. Keeping your counsel doesn't come naturally to you does it?

Bet you wanted to slap his silly little pug face
