Mine is "I forgot!" - (or, worse, "I forgot, all right?") said in a slightly accusing tone, said as if it should be a perfectly acceptable excuse and complete explanation for anything done, not done, damaged or left behind.

'I know' when i ask her a question and she pretends not to know the answer. she says it with a little shrug of the shoulders. Never understood why it's 'i know' rather than 'i don't know' as she's pretty articulate otherwise for 2.7 yrs.

'in a minute' whenever i say it's time to do anything or go anywhere.

'NOoo! not want that!' just general negativity that really grates esp when it's the 20th time in a row she's used the phrase.

BlueBumedFly · 17/10/2008 14:31

'By accident' from a 10 YO...

'by accident I did not clean the room up even though you asked me not to trash it...

'by accident I ate the whole thing instead of sharing it with my sister...

'by accident I kept my TV on 2 hours later than I should have!!'(bloody loft extension! You can only run up and down 3 sets of stairs so many time in a night!)

and WOT?

cikecaka · 17/10/2008 14:36

dollyspud · 17/10/2008 14:49

okeydokeygirl · 17/10/2008 21:05

Tinkywinks · 17/10/2008 22:24

"I'm not sure about that"
DS age 3 referring to his lunch/dinner which I have just lovingly prepared for an hour.

MoccaMint · 20/10/2008 11:08

bump

CharleeInChains · 20/10/2008 11:14

ds1 (4) Not what he says but just the stupid noises he makes, squelching his cheeks and clickinghis toung he does it all the time for ages and it really irks me.

ds2 (2) Is 'uh oh' when he has blatently just done something i.e he will sit there and throw a whole plate of dinner on the floor then go 'uh oh'.

Lauriefairycake · 20/10/2008 11:14

"it's the dog's fault" when she gets distracted, drops something, bangs into something, forgets something

and the poor dog is asleep in his bed oblivious to his crimes against ten year olds

KatieKat · 20/10/2008 11:39

(From DS, just turned 3)
"Huh?"
Me: "Don't say 'huh'."
DS: "Hmm?"

With SUCH attitude!

Also, "GET IT, Mummy!" if he's dropped something.

But generally he's quite sweet. Not looking forward to the teenage years, which will obviously hit in about 5 years, judging by postings below.

junkcollector · 20/10/2008 12:33

Me: Are you listening?
DS1: 'Eh?'

ifits · 20/10/2008 15:01

all my kids used to say "Are we nearly there YET"....
nowadays they even text me when they are going away with their own children.

My oldest one always said the she wanted BUGGERS for dinner - she couldn't of wouldn't say Burgers.

Ameliasmommy · 21/10/2008 16:08

DD3 when she is crying usually for no reason

me: stop crying now, (in a comforting voice)
DD: I can't sing you are my sunshine

doesn't matter where we are!!!!!

BitOfFun · 21/10/2008 16:13

"Wait a sec" in response to ANY request, usually while clicking another link on the computer, or changing tv channel - from dss aged 13. It's like breathing to him...

QueenofAllWildThings · 21/10/2008 16:14

DS, 3 - "I just told you".

herewegoagain02 · 21/10/2008 17:02

In a minite

or

I'm just.....(dd 12)

bran · 21/10/2008 17:26

DS (4 yrs) says "Poo poo", it drives me insane. He sings nursery rhymes and substitutes "poo" eg Old Macdonald had a poo. He describes dinner as poo, and we hit a new low last week when he said "Bye bye poo poo" to his teacher. If he does it again I will be forced to drop the reasonable mother act and go ballistic in the school playground.

Tinkywinks · 22/10/2008 09:50

DS age 3: "MUUUUUUUUM!" said with urgency everytime I...
step foot in the shower
start brushing my teeth
turn the hoover on
answer the phone
sit on the toilet
go outside to put the bins out

And it's normally something really urgent and important like "Green is not my faveorite colour anymore".

furrycat · 22/10/2008 09:57

DS1 says "Mummy you're naughty" if I'm ever telling hom off.
