I feel really guilty after shouting at my 3 yr old last night.....i am sure all 3yr old boys are challenging at times especially when its time for bath and bed....i realy don`t like shouting, but last night i felt pushed to my limit. Am i really bad for shouting ??

I am extremely hard to rile (too inhibited?) but it's still been a huge effort for me not to shout - however I have never shouted at ds. He's five.

i have raised my voice slightly, hardened the tone etc so he knows I mean business....that sort of thing.

i just asked him though, "Would you say I ever shout at you?"

His instant, immediate reply "Yes, mum you do".

All that work swallowing my anger and thinking, now how can I deal with this issue in a good way!!!!! The bugger thinks I shout at him!!

Obv he has never heard a real shout. Now I'm looking forward to letting meself go and NOT swallowing my anger in future

Try my best not too - but do. Not everyday, but I do lose it. I have trigger times ie. morning (getting ready for school/breakfast etc. and bed times - when my DS (3.5) is running around like a lunatic and I am trying to get him to have a bath. My DD has eczema so creams every morning and night takes ages so it just makes the mornings and bedtimes longer than it would do a normal child.

Read RGPargy'spost as who doesn't shout even when on your own.
