Where do you put your 6-12 month old LO while you shower??

My DD is almost 6 months and can roll repeatedly. No room is baby proof and the bathroom has a nasty step that could result in a poorly cracked head. I haven't tried putting her back in her cot while I shower but I do need a solution that she's happy with that will keep her safe for 10 mins, What do you do??

I used to put dd in her bath seat outside the bath, suckered to the tiles rather than the bath so she could watch me.

i have always put the baby in the bouncy chair in the bathroom while i have a bath(dont have a shower)untill they can sit up,then in the cot with toys when they are older.

I had a travel cot in corner of lounge that I used as a play pen and also for daytime naps.

In the car seat. Until they were bustin' out of it.

ever since dd could sit she's been in the shower with me every day. she loves it.

I used to put ds2 in the hop'n'pop that we had, from about 6mo - 12mo, now (16mo) he goes in the travel cot in my bedroom (and I shower in the en-suite). ds1 is usually there with him, but sometimes he is on his own if ds1 is still asleep. Occasionally I take him in with me, but not when I have to get to work.

How long does a bouncer chair work for? We don't use one but I could buy one if it would be good for a while. DD is one of the 'busy' LOs though! We do have a travel cot - is that psychologically better than her cot do you think? I am trying not to buy a playpen if I can get away with it - only because of space. Am I kidding myself????

oooh the car seat - that's an idea.
I love the idea of her showering with me but she can't sit unaided yet so there would definitely be blood.

ds2 was throwing himself out of the bouncy chair at 5/6mo.
with ds1 I used to put him in the door bouncer for a while, probably around 6-9mo.

car seat is great idea, they can't throw themselves out, and you already have it. Problem solved - top marks to caterpiller!

you would however have to keep bringing the car seat in and out, mine never left the car after the first couple of weeks with ds2.

The car seat lives inside anyway, so that the crims don't get to it!

All my car seats stay in the car where they belong imo. I have a thing about babies in car seats outside of a car. Usually leave him in dh's arms or in a seat outside the shower at the moment or on the bed outside the en suite. Aitch did you mean actually in the shower or just outside?

Travel cot/play pen with LOTS of toys.. However, crying while your hair is full of soapsuds is inevitable 90% of the time IME

once they could sit up, strip them off, sit them in the bath with some toys and just shower. mine used to love the spray.

At 6 months I put him Bumbo seat or swing seat while I showered etc.

Later I babysafed his room and put a child gate on it, so he can play whilst I shower. He usually plays in the bathroom if I have a bath as he loves splishing the water. She will soon learn how to get up and down one step very easily when she's about 9 months old and crawling.

oooh no I must shower in the morning - I cannot function without that! Up until now DD has chilled on our bed with a couple of toys and the Eagles playing or some other CD and she's been as cool as a cucumber. She's not generally a fan of being strapped in to a seat unless it's her buggy but that's not really an option!
