LOL at your dh dreaming of your "beautiful ripe cervix" and sending positive thoughts for you and your ds

brimfull · 25/03/2007 16:04

meggle-glad you've passed the scan hurdle with good news...hope they sort things out for your lo soon.

Nbg · 25/03/2007 16:10

Oh I'm glad to hear about the scan. Great news!

BigEggLittleEgg · 25/03/2007 16:47

Fab news Meggle, please keep us updated. I keep coming back to the thread to check. XX

hunkermunker · 25/03/2007 16:50

Oh, wonderful news, Meggle! He sounds fab, your DS. Glad labour didn't start though - but LOL at your DH's ripe cervix (NOT a sentence I'd ever imagined typing...!) x x x

Tamum · 25/03/2007 17:10

That's really good news about the scan, hope things go better from now on. Children's wards are hellish places to try and sleep, aren't they?

So pleased that you have survived the hospital experience and that the scan has ruled out tumours etc.

Has he had any viral illnesses recently? My cousin's little boy had symptoms very like you describe when he was two. It was a severe post-viral thing, I think - but it took ages to diagnose, and a while to go again.

But he is a snowboarding champion now.

sunnysideup · 25/03/2007 19:10

meggle, that's fantastic. Glad you're enjoying today (and ds!). I'm so glad all the tests etc are being done. I'm so impressed with how you're all coping.

Marina · 25/03/2007 19:12

And is your dh in the other room visualising his ripe cervix? I think I'd rather watch the Wheels on the Bus on an eternal loop Meggle! If it is Mr Meggle who posts the birth announcement in due course, how are we ever going to let him live this one down
So very glad for you that the first lot of tests have come back clear, and that you are back home for tonight to get some decent rest. Best of luck for tomorrow to you all, and what a little star your ds is being XXX

hunkermunker · 25/03/2007 19:35

Could it have been some kind of inner ear thing? I know ears affect balance? Or is that mad?

Glad youre back home for a bit, much nicer than being on a ward!

Glad to hear the news so far, good luck with the next round of tests

imaginaryfriend · 25/03/2007 21:03

I'm so glad you're home again, meg, there's nowhere worse to be than hospital if you can avoid it, especially for kids.

I think those plastic things are called 'venflons' although I don't know how to spell it. Dd hated hers so you're glad he thinks it's a bit special!

meggle, I still don't know how old your ds is. My dd was 3 1/2 when we had our scare with her.

I think you need to start asking them lots of questions tomorrow like what they suspect and why they're doing an MRI and CT which indicates that they're looking for something specific.

When we were in with dd they gave me a list of things that they thought it might be from the downright scary to the nothing-to-worry about like a post-viral weakness which is apparently quite common. Dd had had a nasty flu about 6 weeks before and they thought that could have caused it but in the end it turned out to be this Perthes Syndrome thing which one doctor had mentioned to me even during our first evening in A&E.

I hope you get a good night's sleep and that tomorrow brings you much peace of mind.

Thinking of you xxx

Twiga · 25/03/2007 21:04

Just checking in, glad tumours etc have been ruled out - what a relief Sounds like you had a night of it on the ward, glad to hear you've got home for tonight. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow and hope things continue to be positive in terms of serious stuff geting ruled out. Will be thinking of you all.

margoandjerry · 25/03/2007 21:05

Megglevache - your family sounds lovely. Hope news continues to be more positive.
