Hard work pushing pushchair

It's it just me or does anyone else find having a baby physical hard work? Does anyone else find it hard work pushing a pushchair? And legs get tired?

IME if you have the right type of pushchair for the terrain and are fit and healthy it shouldn't be physical hard work at all.

What type of pushchair do you have and where do you push it?

I think (unless there are underlying health reasons) you probably need to blame your pushchair. Does it have inflatable tyres as if they get a bit flat it can make it difficult to push. I've been through several pushchairs and, aside from a very old p+t double, never found one hard work to push.

We're getting her a trike for her birthday maybe that'll be better. I do walk up a massive hill and do a fair walk with her sometimes so maybe that's affected me

Our pushchair (Babyjogger) is not at all hard work to push. Glides along very easily. However I borrowed a friend's M&P umbrella fold and it was a mare - really felt the effort I had to put in to keep it moving. So yep it might well be your pushchair.

I agree it might be the pushchair I absolutely love pushing the babyjogger mini gt.

Is that a stroller? It's probably beyond our budget

The smaller the wheels, the harder it is to push generally.

I thought it made sense it was hard work. You're doing a lot more work than you used to do and pushing a baby and a pushchair everywhere

purple I think it's your pushchair too! I'm very very petite. 5'3 and 110lb and I don't find pushing a pushchair hard work. It could be the hill too as If it's very steep it would be hard work no matter what. Have you looked at 2nd hand prices?

It got recalled but they mend them they don't refund. Budget is basically cheapest possible!!

Babyjoggers aren't horribly expensive. Maybe £250 new if you look out for an online deal. There's a buy/sell/chat FB page and you could get a second hand one in very good nick not far north of £100.

Btw I have two and the maclaren quest is a lot harder to push than the bugaboo cameleon. The bugaboo just glides along.

I think we'll end up getting another pushchair but still can't help thinking I'll find the same thing. I think the hill would be hard work with any.

If you can get another it's worth going into the shops and pushing some around, then buy second hand. I think with pushchairs you (mostly) do get what you pay for, so better to go 2nd hand on a well reviewed brand/model.

OH just emailed me this one (we want a lightweight stroller because I don't drive so it will be useful to just fold up on bus I don't have one of those now)

probably won't go for that one though I want some kind of basket on bottom even if only a little one

I'm with you, I have a graco mirage which is light (7kgs) but add a 13kg non walker and a bit of shopping and the big hill to my house and it's hard work. I also have a second hand one with inflatable tyres but I find the extra weight of that still makes it hard although easier on snow than the graco which is why I have it (I'm not in the UK).

I've never found my baby jogger hard to push. I did struggle hugely with the Mothercare umbrella stroller my MIL has at her house. Couldn't steer the bloody thing in a straight line.

It's definitely not the steering I think it's because you're just pushing a weight which of course you wouldn't be pushing if you were just walking by yourself. I so also wonder if it might be better to get a carrier or sling.
